- Watch us start our 4wd Diesel Campervan in extreme cold weather conditions. I had plugged the oil pan heater the whole night but it wasn't enough for the camper to start straight away. It is a 1999 Mitsubishi Delica 2.5 turbo diesel.

I thought the oil pan heater would work better for the start.
To be honest I was a bit disappointed as well. Maybe a block heater would have worked better but the setup on a Delica engine is more complicated 😅
Hello guys, do you still have a Delica?
Hi, we still have it and it's fully renovated inside. We've been busy and we don't have enough time to make videos anymore.
@@HappyFamilyAdventures I also found you on Instagram, may I ask you some questions there ?
@@DasMachy sure no problem 🙂
Your glow plug light went off way tooooo early
You will need a new timer. Absolutely for minus 44deg OMFG you will kill the poor engine otherwise lol
@@Overallsbloke hi mate, we get extreme temperatures only 2 weeks per year. Usually, I wouldn't use the camper during that period.
At -15 and the oil pan heater plugged in, the camper would start like in the summer.
I understand no problem. Needless to say when you have the chance you will require an after market timer. Here in OZ there is one I bought for 65AUD. works perfectly. And realistically you can then reasses if you still need the cost of running an oil pan heater. With the new glowplug timer and the oil pan heater at -44 it should go zooom!!
@@Overallsbloke thanks mate for the tip, I'll have a look into it
