  • Short video of me checking the ignition timing on my Yamaha FS1E moped using a Strobe.
(This video was made to show how I check the ignition timing on my mopeds and other small bikes using a strobe. Due to a valid comment about the stator being fixed and therefore the timing being fixed as long as the points gap is correct and the heal not worn, I have changed the title of the video. I believe that this is still a valid video for other engines as adjustment of the ignition timing is done when the stator plate is turned using the slots that are in many stator plates. The contact breaker points must be in good condition though and the gap set correctly before adjusting the plate. Hope this makes sense, Bye for now! )

The timing is fixed on them anyway. You can only adjust the points gap. All that faffing about for nothing.

Very nears really why do incompetent idiots think it's ok to tell people how to service fairly valuable equipment
