  • Here I show you how to "check" timing on a Morini M1 two stroke moped engine with a timing light.

If possible, a video on how to set the timing with a digital OHM meter would be immensely helpful! :)

I'll try to make a video very soon.
If your engine is a Morini, setting timing is very simple.
There are 2 screws that hold the stator plate on the engine. You simply loosen the 2 screws and rotate the stator plate left or right to advance or retard the timing. It's tedious and time consuming, but it's not that bad. I highly recommend downloading the Morini shop manual. There is a step by step instruction on setting timing.
I'll notify you if I make a video though.

BTW...You need to use an analog Ohm meter. The kind with a needle.
A digital meter isn't capable of showing the small, very quick change in continuity.

Dont you have to.have it at certain rpm like 3000 to check it

    • @williammoss1310

No. You check it at idle.
Some engines require you to hold at 3k RPM...such as older Triumph motorcycles.
This engine doesn't have variable timing, so, you simply set static timing and check it with the light to make sure it's set correctly.
