    Self healing mats available on Amazon for similar (if not lower) price. I’ve been using in my Gemini Jr. For months now. Works great!

    Please tell me that they still have the very small one?

    So is this any different than buying the cheapcutting mat and cutting to any size you need?

      To be honest, I'm not sure. It is like a regular cutting mat, I know they've made it the correct thickness for die machines. I dont know how the thickness differs between this and a regular self healing mat.

      The Magic mat is the correct thickness for our machines, plus unlike a regular self healing mat, these have 5 layers of pvc in the middle of the mat. It is built for the pressure.

    I noticed that you put your dies back and forth. I will try that as I find I am not that pleased with the cutting ability of the magic mat.

    I tried the mini one today on my Tim Holtz Sidekick and it needed a “shim” to make it cut? Am I doing something wrong?

    • @MarieNicoleDesigns
      @MarieNicoleDesigns  Před 3 lety +1

      Nope, not doing anything wrong at all! I forgot to mention shims in this video. Different machines are all a little different, so its hard to make the mat fit perfectly in all of them. Shims are completely normal, and I use them in my spellbinders if I need a little more pressure when cutting or glimmering.

      @@MarieNicoleDesigns are there shims specifically made for the Sidekick? I just threw a couple pieces of paper in but it would be nice if there was an actual product made for that purpose for the Sidekick? Thanks!

      @@colleendienstbier5763 Im not sure if there are actual shims. I haven't used the sidekick much so I'm not too familiar. I usually just use paper shims, myself. I have found that some of the cardstock from packaging seems to work well for me. Lol

    Ordered one and had it sent to Canada so I paid almost triple the price (which was totally my choice) and unfortunately, I am very disappointed with the mat. I am using a BigShot machine and found that the cutting was not consistent with the mat and it warped with every use. I had to flatten it after each use and that is just not something that I am prepared to do.

      So sorry! They went so fast, they just got them in a few days ago! I know they do have more on the way, though. :)

      You can get a self healing mat in any size on Amazon and lower price point. I’ve been using it in my Gemini Jr. Machine for months now.
