Would be interesting to see him countering Reyna, because he's a robot and doesn't have a soul for her to consume.
And since we saw her in the trailer and with so much hate in her eyes, it might even be him who originally killed her sister. Since he is killjoys creation, it makes sense for Reyna to be kind of mad at her too.

Just realized
The start is Kay/O learning how all the abilities work cuz he's an AI. It's Brimstones voice because he cares a lot abt what Brimstone says.
It shows his use of his Radianite abilities.
Then he uses his ULT, and somehow kills 3 more people after just having already killed like 4. Omen (a Radiant) is the one who kills him in his Overloaded state.
So now he's downed. And I think this is where he starts to think abt his like past and stuff-- what kind of earth he came from.
It shows Kay/O in a red environment, with the Kingdom K logo on the ground, and it looks like the world is in ruins.
And wouldn't you know it, at 1:43 theres a title that says "Planet in Ruin, Total Annihilation"
Alright, now I presume he's tossing one of his abilities, and then it shows Reyna, laughing another one of her laughs. I'm pr sure people got this down-- Kay/O finds Reyna dangerous. They likely hate one another or smthn.
Kay/O is implied to be from a future world, where everyone but the Radiants died, and the Radiants took over the world, resulting in the ruin we previously saw.
Now we've got more gameplay.
Something I found interesting is that in the gunplay, Kay/O was shown strictly killing Radiants. Not a single non-Radiant is killed by him.
Finally, it shows Brimstone-- someone who Kay/O is extremely dedicated to (with their tier 9 cards even resembling one another.)
It says "time to kill some Radiants", as yes, he once again kills a bunch of Radiants-- but not without himself dying.
Finally, it shows Brimstone, defusing. I think this resembles how Kay/O cares for Brim, and who's future death was most dear to him. And once again, Brimstone is the last person he see's before their inevitable death.

Coming back to this trailer, I like how KAY/O has a sense of understanding everytime he dies. He knows now he has to counter the attack beforehand, unaware another attack is inbound
For anyone who wants a bit of Kay/o backstory, here it is: Basically, Kay/o is mentioned to be a robot purely made to kill radiantes. Kay/o was most likely made by the Company Kingdom after they had the pressure of a lot of radianite problems around the world. In the trailer we can see Kay/o and Reyna having a stand off. This is also proven as one of Kay/o's voiceline says "I killed you Reyna before in the war, I'll do it again." Kay/o could also be possibly the one who killed Reyna's sister. Now, because of the hard relationship between Kay/o and Reyna, this could also mean why Reyna hates Killjoy. After all, she does make robots which affiliates with Kay/o thus why Reyna hates Killjoy as well.

Makes sense, as a kay/o main, another voiceline he says after fights is for killjoy to fix him or rather repair him. Happens multiple times. could be a hint, but he is not her creation, rather as you said probably affiliates with kay/o
The war takes place in the future, wicy is where kay/o is from. Radiants were against humans. Brimstone also died in that war, and kay/o wears his dogtags arround his neck.

So you are confused with what was happening at the beginning where he was always running it back. He is an AI which is trying to kill radiants , 1000s of his simulations helped him calculate the best way to counter radiants. His best answer to this was destroying their abilities , because that was the one thing that made them different. He cannot beat their abilities , but he can destroy them without it. So basically , after thousands of simulations , he developed the best abilities to kill radiants.

I can confirm this all happened to me while using KAY/O
I like the thematic role reversal here. Usually, in the apocalypse at the end of the world, it is the sentient machines as the harbingers of that destruction. But in this case, the sentient machine was the last survivor and avenger of humanity, who destroyed the Radiants that had laid waste to the world.
This is like Valorant version of "Dormammu, I've come to bargain"

For those confused by how KAY/O keeps restarting things in the beginning, this is referring to his lore. He has died many times to each agent and we see him analyzing cypher in this video. This is how he is able to stop all agents from using their abilities through his experience in how they fight.

Let me help you out.
His C is a nade much like Raze's nade.
His Q is a flash, you can either throw it far (detonates in 1.6s) or close (detonates in 1s)
His E is a knife you throw, it explodes on a wall and suppresses agents; destroys their deployed abilities or prevents them for using abilities for a bit (you have time to leave the suppress radius, you can see that KAY/O naded a bit behind where Sage is, used his suppress to push her back and she dies to the nade).
His X (ultimate) is an overload ability where he becomes combat stimmed (think Brim's beacon) and suppresses nearby agents for a short bit; he pings them like Sova's dart every pulse. If/when he dies you have 15 seconds to revive him, but he loses his ult after that.
In short, he's the best initiator in the game right now.
It seems he can see future, bend time and can control reality. And if any of those are in game except the trailer..R.I.P everyone
