Hi, I try to connect Cognex Camera with UR robot but i the icon beside the IP address still is X in red. I use the same hardware as your hardware 7802 Insight and UR5e. The Error message is make sure the camera is online and the proper job file is loaded. I did load a job to Cognex camera and update UR5e to 5.13 firmware version. But it still didn't work. Can u help me?

Is it possible to configure and comunicate with the UR doing the program on the spredsheet?

The URCap as used in the video is designed to be used with Easybuilder.
Of course it's all spreadsheet in the background.
Have a look at the new In-Sight Explorer v6.4 it has new functions for vision guided robotics all in the spreadsheet.

Hi, can I use a camera with an older version (cognex model IS7200).what do I need to do?

      Hi.
      Thanks for your question.
Unfortunately not. It will only work on the latest ranges of camera like the 7000 Gen 2 and 8000
That's not to say you couldn't still setup a 7200 and a UR but you would have to do it manually.
Have a look at this guide on the UR Support Site

Check you have set the ip address for the UR and the UR is showing it is connected to the network

@@VisiconUK is there any other way to get the camera and robot to interact if I cant set up the URCap?

    • @VisiconUK
      @VisiconUK  Před 2 lety +1

There is but it's a lot more complicated.
What robot model do you have and which camera?
Is it just the two devices on the network. What IP address have you got for each device?

@@VisiconUK Great video, I am doing almost the same for an application and have a question/problem: when the camera takes the foto if the object if in the middle of the foto the robot goes and "touch" the part without problem but if the object position is not the middle the robot will fail reaching it. the bigger the distance of the object to the middle the bigger is the error of the traectory. Could you please give me some advice? I´d really appreciate it. Thanks

@@I_vantheory It sounds to me like a calibration issue. This problem is usually seen when there is a height difference between the calibration target and and the actual part you are detecting.
I have had people reporting this problem when using a calibration grid (not used with the URCap). The part is 50mm tall but they placed the grid directly on the conveyor.
If you move the part to the edges and draw a line from the centre of the lens through the top of the part, and keep going until you reach the base, that is the coordinate the camera is giving out.
Is you camera robot mounted or fixed?
