I'm never going to understand the Palmer hype. Been average this tournament in his combined 2 hours of football. Not created anything, not scored, can't pass and can't dribble. He's doing the basics which is what Saka was doing and more, Saka not only did the basics but also did other things like beat his man. This game was the first time Saka was really allowed to get around the box because the players around him were actually making runs and pulling defenders away. Palmer though has been terrible, not only with my eyes but also stats. He's been a waste of space off the bench in all 3 games.
I've always said this, there's a reason he doesn't play for City... Yes he's talented otherwise he wouldn't have left for 50 mill but if City really felt he was a generational, world class prospect they would've kept him. I've heard coaches and scouts say Palmer is average as well. Palmer benefits from no markers, no deep blocks and no pressure, for England he has all of those and looks nowhere near his "standard". He's a good player but I think his ceiling is starter Champions League club at best, not generational and definitely not world class.
And overall the disrespect for Saka considering that when Foden's underperforming it's "how to get the best out of Foden", when Palmer plays badly he gets praised and when Saka has one bad performance (against Slovenia) and it's "play Palmer, drop Saka", he's England's second top goalscorer.
"What does Saka need to do to be subbed?", actually underperform and have other players in his position play better than him. Both Bowen and Palmer have been dreadful in this tournament and Saka's been better than the rest. He's probably been England's best player along with Bellingham, Guehi and Rice

Genuinely insane the fact that all I heard throughout this video was how Saka needed to be dropped for Palmer, while Foden and Kane were 10x worse, Saka was out of position still making things happen while Foden was playing his best position and still flopped but nothing because of bias.

I love that Saka went the same way as he did in Euro 2021. Walker's been terrible this tournament, Stones struggling, Trippier has to go or be played RB, Foden's got to be dropped now, I thought he was good in the first half but he was terrible for the next 75 mins and it's just another game where England's tried to accommodate for him and it's not worked. Eze and Gordon LW, Saka back to right wing and Shaw left back and it's coming home.

To say it was when the subs came on that was when Saka came alive - is cruel. We saw that young man pass so many balls and no one there to kick the ball into the goal.
We even saw the frustration on his face each time the ball he passed was missed by those who should have kicked it into the net!
Don't know how it looked on the stands but I would suggest you watch this match on TV, to see what we saw.
