I Thought I’d address the towel hooks. I appreciate the concern. We got a lot of feedback. 😅 Everyone knows their family best. The hooks are up higher than what it appears on camera I think. I don’t really see an issue for the stage my boys are at. They’re not really tall enough to be able to poke themselves up top. And I’m not even tall enough to. So I’ll keep my eye on it .. but I haven’t noticed any issues for them or us . They don’t spend much time in there. And they can easily be taken down if needed. ❤️
Lynette Yoder it’s not just your boys I was thinking about, but they do grow. It’s the look in general: it makes me think of a horror film. I truly love the room, but truly think those racks are a huge mistake.

These add character and I love them! They fit the vibe of the ceiling, the floor, the wood on the mirror.. just all of it.

I just commented about the hooks and then saw this. So I wasn't the only one who thought that lol. The hooks are odd but the rest of the bathroom is absolutely beautiful. If you ever want a 'day job' when your kids are older you should definately be a designer :)
Please don’t change your hooks. I love them, but its just my opinion. The fact someone said they are a HUGE mistake based on how she feels is just ridiculous. It’s your space, decorate it how you like, you’re the one that is living there.
It looks great. I'd love an update 6 months or a year from now on how the painted tile holds up to cleaning.

Just... WOW!!! My husband has been a painter for 30 years and never heard of the paint you used on the tile... I joked with him and said, "you are never too old to learn something new!!" The tile on the floor is beautiful, as are all your finishing touches. You do such amazing make overs.... what is next????

I love the black and white. I’m personally not a fan of the rug but I don’t like traditional styles. Those towel holders are interesting....I’d be afraid of poking my eye out though...they look sharp! Another great remodel....thanks for sharing.

Hey there!! 😆 I don’t know what the song was. But you’re right I’m sure. He likes oldies! And not offended! No it doesn’t really too much. My hair aren’t very thick so that helps. But I pretty much always wear it up. Except for sleeping and the occasional lounge day. I wear a head covering because of my conviction for it according to a scripture in the Bible. 1 Corinthians 11! ❤️

Def can take that shower rod from ceiling to floor. Look for some soft and flowy panels with rods and add an extension to the shower curtain liner (sew or hem tape and iron). Nice colors and flooring !

Beautiful makeover. Wasn’t sure about the dark ceiling but it’s great! I taught my children to stand in the tub and dry off before getting out (Dry the body. Drape the towel on the edge of the tub, put up one foot on the towel, dry off that foot & leg, step out and dry the other foot & leg). I have done this for years so never had to worry about wet floors.
i love your style. what you thought was just 'making do' with what you found, i think, looks wonderfully planned out and very lovely. i love the rug and agree the longer length is great for that space. i also love the choice of the peppercorn on the ceiling.

They’re not very low. So I don’t really see it as a problem. Maybe it looks lower on camera. ☺️. But we can take them down if it’s a problem

Black ceilings have been common in industrial and commercial building design/rebuild for the last decade - skip the 't-bar' ceiling and just paint everything up there a non-glossy black, including HVAC ductwork, pipes, beams, etc. The black ceiling looks good on your bathroom, and I think the recessed lights help with that 'depth' look you mention, as well as the white walls, white vanity, and white toilet. And the black hexagon floor tiles contrast well with the white (painted) wall tiles. It'd be nice to know how long the paint on the tiles in the shower/tub lasts. If it was me I'd just strip the walls of all the old tile and redo it using some inexpensive 24 x 12 white tiles on the walls and shower/tub walls. Anyway, looks great!

Great transformation of the bathroom! Have thought about painting our shower tiles but have heard mixed things about that. Please let us know how you clean the shower area and if it needs a special cleaner so you don't scratch or wear out the paint. Not sure what you meant about not being able to raise your shower curtain. As long as your shower curtain will cover the top of the tub and keep water in, it does not need to reach the floor. It is fine being up off the floor unless you want the steam to leave the shower area and come into the room. Adorable picture of the boys. Can see why it is a favorite! Love the runner and the black shower rod and accents and love your decorative touch. Nick looks like he has been doing renovations for ages now. He looked really comfortable with all aspects of the job. Great job you two.
