Concept design for redevelopment of Bacup Market

The concept design for the £8.3million redevelopment of Bacup Market and Union Street has been given the green light by Rossendale Borough Council.
Plans for the new community-focused market - to be called Temple Court - include the construction of a state-of-the-art two-storey Market Hall offering local produce, crafts, food and drink on the ground floor and a cycle hub and makers’ spaces on the upper floor.

I am really excited about this. I think it is a really cleaver use of the space as well as leaving plenty of outdoor space for stalls and events etc. This indoor area is much needed 6 months of the year whilst it's windy and wet. There doesn't appear to be nearly enough indoor seating areas to sit and eat and drink inside.

This is a designated conservation and heritage area, the clues are already there.
