I've been flying since I was 16 and at age 19 flew around the world by myself in the same 1981 A36 Beechcraft Bonanza I still fly, becoming the youngest person ever to solo circumnavigate by aircraft.
Now, I'm sharing all kinds of aviation adventures with YOU! Ride along as we explore the world from the air and get a close up look at some of aviation's best flight experiences and destinations.

If there’s one thing I’ve taken away from this whole series of videos, it’s that you can contact Iceland Radio at 127.85.
Ricky Tenderkiss and that you should never pee when wearing your immersion suit.
Wow, what a video. I flew into Wick from Alesund, Norway a few years ago. Had an intermittent rough-running engine for the last hour of the journey and spent some time dismantling my carbs next to that WW2 control tower. Forever etched into my mind in intricate detail because I was pretty certain I was going to end up putting it the sea. I stayed overnight in Wick and the next day the aircraft ran fine again - never worked out what the problem was.
I really loved flying in these upper latitudes - the raw isolation, and the unique weather you find up there, really makes it seem that you're sat right on top of the planet.
The one thing no-one talks about with general aviation is how small it makes the world feel. Because you conscious of your position, and speed over the land, you get a sense of the scale of the earth in a way that you don't from and airliner at 30,000ft. I think if everyone understood how small this lump of rock really was, people would behave a lot better towards each other.
What a great compilation video and some obviously very competent young crew. With my brother in 1976 we flew a Baron Calgary , PA, Churchill,Coral Harbour (due weather ) Sondestrom, Iceland and on to Scotland. What an exciting trip with only NDB and D/R nav and HF radio. You guys obviously got better weather than us and your narrative is really down to earth. Eventually we carried on to New Zealand the long way home. What an exciting trip that was in the pre GPS days. Your videos bought back some great memories for me after 59 years in the saddle.. Many thanks
If you do Iceland and Greenland again you should include the Faroe Islands while you're there. Great videos.
Great vid Matt! Also very happy to see you always in your flight suit when crossing the Atlantic. You'll always do well when you experience an emergency with that safety attitude! PEACE OUT!
Matt, thank you for sharing your experiences with us!
The main gear on a 210 always looks so sketchy lol
They look like training wheels, you almost wait for the real gear to drop down as well.
Yeah, but they sure tuck up nicely, don’t they?
Watched all the Atlantic crossing video's today, and I'm stunned. It must have been an amazing experience with all the flying and meeting all those awesome people! Really inspiring!
You have cell service quite a distance away from the Faroe islands as radio waves propagate better over water than land allowing them to travel over the horizon in many cases.
I really like your version, it captures so much more. I cant explain it but the different perspective was great, ty.
My God, what an incredible journey. I just discovered your channel and I have thoroughly enjoyed each video. Great video, music , all of it. Thanks!
This is a wonderful video on so many levels. Great job guys, Very Impressive indeed.....
Aww, to be young again, enjoy this time of your lives and appreciate each day. You are the "Spirit of Adventure". From an older pilot......
Congratulations and thank you for your time and efforts! Haven't finished all the videos yet, but I would like to express my thanks here as this is absolutely enjoyable!. Always particularly glad to see Americans leaving their nest and experiencing the World!
I've been to the Scottish Highlands several times, but never to Wick. Beautiful place! Looks like you got quite the experience for the first stop. Wonderful! Thank you for sharing!
Hey guys, awesome videos! 230 hrs in the book here. AMEL/IA/PPL.
Also a radio comms nerd. Regarding the cell signal, a quick thought is the rule on line of site radio. Useable signal for both vhf air comms and cell comms can be estimated by this formula.
Approx distance in miles = 1.33 x sq rt (transmitter height in feet).
So 7000 ft would equal roughly 100 miles of usable radio range plus however high the ground station antenna is.
Safe travels and blue skies!
Love your videos!! Gorgeous views, excellent editing... everything. Love being able to listen to all the in cockpit communication. Keep up the good work!
You are super professional, thanks to share all these experiences, regards from Argentina. Happy new year for all.
'It's behind you' LOL. Welcome to the UK.
Very very very nice job, you guys. Reminds me of when I fly through Hell's Canyon, Idaho in a 172 VRF, mountain obscurement.
Love the ending. It's the in-camera representation of too much whisky!
Hi guys just watched 4 of your videos crossing the atlantic to my homeland scotland. Have to say guys a great watch and pretty inspirational. Thanks and safe flying to you all
This was well worth waiting for. A great story of 3 guys crammed into a tin can with wings. And flying out over the arctic tundra and the ocean. You have to know your stuff and believe in your skills. Inspiring.
Hi! My name is Alexandro from Brazil. I´ve seen all videos crossing the Iceland and final arriving in Scotland. Guys, it´s amazing travelling across over the sea.
Love this series of videos - it's like an airborne road trip (snacks and all!) Thanks for posting
saw the stones piled up at the shore line. tribute to the souls lost at sea. great film. I ve always wanted to fly a small plane back home. California to Beara Peninsula. great time for all of you, great memories. keep the adventures coming Matt, you got me addicted now!
I find it funny that theres a small cessna among airliners like that Asiana A380 (at least I assume its an a380 since it had the super suffix)
This is inspiring. I'm just a student still (71 years old) but I can't wait to be able to do things like this. Mind you it's a long way from Australia where I live. Btw,JP makes some beautiful touchdowns!
busted neck gasket in the dry suit is super sketchy...makes you a 300 lbs weight if you take a swim
All I can say is.......WOW!!! Tagging along watching your videos is just like being there. What a great opportunity for us viewers. Keep them coming!
Happy New Year Matt, and thank you for another outstanding video! Not sure what I enjoy more, the in-flight coverage or your drone work! Either way, it’s all good stuff. Hope you have a wonderful 2018 and I look forward to following along on your future adventures!
Well done guys great flight great scenery welcome to the uk all the best for your follow on trip cheers
You guys a crazy in positive way, I love the videos!!
That looks so cozy the three of them in this little airplance above the clouds!
Great series of vlogs and great adventure flight. Particularly like the radio message at 14:06 when Scotland ask if you want 'a basic service or something higher' and JP responds "070 will be fine for now" - I guess you learnt about our ATC services a little later in the trip enroute to London - we like to keep it real in the UK :-)
Another spectacular video - I continue to enjoy and appreciate them all. For what it is worth, joking or not, a series of videos from a “Summer in Greenland” would be utterly amazing. Officially voting to see that happen!
Nicely produced vid... Cheers 4 sharing Matt!
Such a great adventure... Thanks for sharing!
Nice effects from the drone aerial perspective shots-- made the stop-overs very memorable.
Great video, as usual! You are living the dream, Matt!
great set of videos, nice to be able to follow along. beautiful drone shots!
Amazing videos! It's like I'm riding along. You easily owned a new subscriber
Perfect music choice (Washed Out - Daxten
) for the shots near the end! great video
I see the PIC must be an ace at putting on his suit! Have fun in bonny Scotland.
Another excellent video - Thanks. Plane looked heavy taking off at Reykjavik.
What's in Haggis:
1 sheep's stomach or ox secum, cleaned and thoroughly, scalded, turned inside out and soaked overnight in cold salted water
heart and lungs of one lamb
450g/1lb beef or lamb trimmings, fat and lean
2 onions, finely chopped
225g/8oz oatmeal
1 tbsp salt
1 tsp ground black pepper
1 tsp ground dried coriander
1 tsp mace
1 tsp nutmeg
water, enough to cook the haggis
stock from lungs and trimmings
and it’s the fucking tastiest thing on gods own earth.
I remember seeing that on the Halloween episode of Dark Angel.
No onions, please.
Love the videos! Amazing achievement.
Glad you liked haggis! When you thought the chicken was it... haha!
Flying looks such fun!
Nice camera work, guys. I look forward to buying the complete video.
Fly safe.
Tailwinds.
Amazing guys with amazing flight. Fantastic.
Brilliant guys. Congratulations making it all the way to the UK.
Well done brought back a lot of memories. I am now retired and flew a lot in my middle years, logged about 600 hours. Most of my long trips in a Piper Arrow eg UK to Corsica. Towards the end of my flying I flew Jodel's - a superb French tail dragger, with just map and compass. I worked in the USA for two years and flew from Rockford IL in the mighty Piper Saratoga. It was all great fun but it soaked up a lot of my money.
Hi Matt, I'm a new subscriber from FUN FOR LOUIS. It was nice to see you help JP navigate across the North Atlantic.
Wauw...what a trip and what an adventure...great shots!
Watching videos like this make me smile, seeing non-Scots in Scotland makes me really appreciate my country and it’s beauty.
i have never been in scotland but i damn sure will! i love the rocky shores, castles and the landscape.
all you need to change is drive on the right side of the street! 😜
but seriously i cant wait to go there!
greetings from austria!
Thanks for sharing. Some really good footage and commentaries. Daxten good music!!!
Brilliant video Mat really enjoyed it very inspiring
Hey guys love your channel. Been following you throughout. Great work. Been to Wick driven up from Aberdeen. I am like man these guys are so cool. Enjoy and take care...

Outstanding content, thank you!
Great video and what a great experience that must have been. Best wishes for 2018 and Happy New Year!
Great series,on par with the motorcycle one a few years ago,The long way around.
Another awesome video matt :) Keep it up!
Such an interesting series about your travels.
Atta boy Matt! Thank you so much for taking the time to film and edit your adventures.
What an awesome video! Amazing!
I discovered you guys way too late. Amazing footage! Thanks for making these video's. :-)
I used to live and work up in that part of the country and I really miss it! It's a wild and beautiful place.
Btw, haggis isn't a sheep's stomach, it's basically sausage meat, oats and spices. Remember that hotdogs are puréed pig in a pigs gut.
Oh God I'm loving following you guys, you really make my day!! 😀
Thanks for the captions! I'm french and learning radio with english captions is way easier for me
Wow…just wow. Great video!
Amazing well done lads!
Another great vlog Matt!
Thoroughly enjoy your videos!!
Awesome video. beautiful views.
This was great 👍 guys!
Wow! After 2 hours cross country in my flight school's 172, I'm ready to get out. You guys are beasts.
Unbelievable beauty...thanks
At 17:33, that's Ackergill Tower at the bottom of Sinclair's Bay, with Castle Sinclair Girnigoe up at the top right of land. Castle Sinclair Girnigoe is a mix of a 15th century castle, with early 17th add-ons comprising Castle Sinclair. One of the earliest seats of Clan Sinclair - my family clan! Scots Wha Hae! Great videos, guy - keep up the great work.
Scotland is stunningly beautiful. Pity you didn't get to see more of it. The highlands are particularly spectacular.
Smart pilot and navigator.and of course the guy with the fuel management and food
Great coverage!
13:00 Altitude is your friend with VHF/UHF radio for SMS. The radio signals at those frequencies tend to travel in straight lines, and so long as you're above the transmitter tower's horizon, plus a small amount for atmospheric bending, and diffraction, you'll receive texts. Sometimes there's tropospheric ducting, due to an inversion layer, which can also propagate those. signals for hundreds of miles.
Respect to you guys
Those "oil platforms" were the things that wind turbines stand on, great video too keep it up
awesome, good job matt
Filled with oats "and stuff like that". I feel like that's phrasing it nicely. ;)
Great video guys. I'm originally from the Orkney islands which you must have passed close to on your way into Wick. Keep up the good work.
Great vid Matt, would love for you to fly to henderson texas. I would like very much to go flying with you.
Music at 23:00 with the fire was excellent, but I'm 60 and an unrepentant rocker ;-). Been going thru these in sequence since your flight over Baffin bay to Nuuk. Mostly enjoyable for an old CAP aviation buff, non-pilot. Very cool ground excursions here in Scotland and previously in Iceland.
What an awesome video!
Great video Matt! I hope to see you in Alaska one day.
Thanks guys amazing
You young lads are certainly inspirational. Safe travels . .
Stellar job on the b roll editing.
Scotland has so much to offer, very understated but that’s what keeps it special. If it’s good enough for the Queen of England its got to be breathtaking and is made of very old rock. Really great work and love your videos please have a safe and exciting new year guys.
Watching your videos is like i am directly into your cockpit :-)
