I wanted to make this Suite for a long time. I didn't had all the Libraries I needed. I'm very happy to share it to you now!
I used some incomplete Piano/Concert Band Transcriptions and arranged it to a full Orchestra (while listening to the Original).
Some Parts are completely self-transcribed.
Used VSTs:
Cinematic Studio Strings
Cinematic Studio Solo Strings (Layering)
Cinematic Studio Brass
Cinematic Studio Woodwinds
Abbey Road CFX Grand Piano
Eric Whitacre Choir
VOXOS Choir (Layering)
VSL Choir (Layering)
BBCSO Percussion
VSL Harp
Ilya Efimov Classic Guitar - Hudba
you should try one the edward scissor instrumentals from danny elfman. he has such a distinct style.
The great Alan Silvestri!
Now that I'm trying to learn making music myself with MIDI and VSTs, I know enough to be impressed quite heavily how you were able to make this sound like a real orchestra. Well done!
You can see my first attempt on my channel 😅 The first few projects weren't that good.
Took me 2 years at least to get to this level.
@@CatHarington Thanks for giving that perspective. It gives me hope that the skills can be developed in a relatively short time. It's quite daunting to suck at first for a long time. It's quite overwhelming, actually 😃
@@Andysmusicaljourney I don't really know your knowledge level but I definitely recommend you to learn music theory and orchestration. Look at the transcriptions from John Williams or Alan Silvestri how they are writing. What instruments play what part... That helped me a lot
Incredibly beautiful capture of these pieces. Congratulations. Amazing work.
Nice. Thank you for making and posting.
Beautiful work friend! What woodwinds were you using? They sounded amazing.!
Thank you! I'm using Cinematic Studio Woodwinds
Dude. Would you be down to talk? 🥺 I am just in awe of your work. I'm sitting here in physics class working about orchestral music when I should be worring about my grades. Would you be down to talk about music some time. Ima be honest I'm tryna aspire to be like you.
Thank you 😅. I mean I have no social media at the moment. To much distraction 😀. How can we talk? If you have any questions I'd like to do my best to answer them...
@@CatHarington I mean I could send you my number through email.
Cool mockup! What harp did You use here? Is it synchron harps ?
It's just the free version of VSL
Amazing midi programing! The re-articulated phrases in particular sound great. Are you just creating extra emphasis with modulation or are you modifying (crossing) the voicings across the string sections so that the legato transition sample is performed?
Thanks. Cinematic studio series has recorded re-bowing samples using the sustain pedal in legato mode. (Also re-tonguing with brass and woodwinds) So in this case it's just the quality of the library. Sadly there are very few libraries which have this ability. (actually I don't know any other, maybe Vienna symphony library VSL but it's very expensive)
I hope that I was able to answer your question.
For sure, thanks! Maybe the rebows are just less noticeable to my ears when I use CSS, as i layer with pacific. @@CatHarington
@@colinlockridge6427 I layered the solo strings. It helps a lot
Awesome work Cat, as always.
Great programming and great use of all your libraries.
Just out of curiosity : how many hours spent on this project?
Keep up the good work and happy holiday season !
Thanks. Can't tell exactly. But I think at least 50 hs. I spend the most time for the transcription.
@@CatHaringtonthis would have taken me a lifetime. One of my favorite pieces of music.
