    I was there that day. I was 18 at the time. I was one of the knuckle dragging idiots who ran on the pitch because I thought i was clever and hard. Its making me ashamed watching it back now.

      There were 2 pitch invasions by West Ham fans in the 2nd half & I think some Birmingham City fans might have responded too. It was the end of the following season when the infamous battle took place on the pitch between Leeds & Birmingham fans.

      Lyndon Fletcher two pitch invasions from West Ham the 2nd of which led to the Birmingham fans coming on to the pitch to confront the icf

    Jesus, you don´t see these type of pitches no more. " West Ham & we play it on the floor", lots of direct football, the passing looks less than convincing. The time players had back 35 years or so ago!!!! Some of those tackles would be banned today!!! This match looks a free for all, devoid of any quality.

    A team full of nutcases; taking advantage of a muddy pitch. Even the wall collapsed, so the club back then employed a load of delinquents who were most probably responsible for the stadium falling to bits too!

      @@Westhamsterdam No, it was Leeds the following year and a young Leeds fan died. Same day as the Bradford fire.
