    Hello everyone, welcome to my channel. Like so many others, my lifestyle changed due to the pandemic.
    Before the pandemic, my families lives had become so hectic & busy that there never seemed to be a good time to travel anymore. Somewhere along the line we realized that our last vacation was in 2011. We decided that it was time we made some travel plans.
    Then the pandemic hit! I no longer wanted to travel by plane or stay in a hotel. We decided that a bettter and safer alternative would be to travel in our own vehicle, one that we could also sleep in, cook our own meals in, vacation in. The rest is history!
    However, the RV shopping process is not easy and required a lot of research. I want to share what I have learned along with my ongoing experiences and adventures through my channel which offers:
    RV tours / walkthroughs
    Camping destinations
    Hiking
    RV modifications & DIYs
    RV Cooking
    And much more…..
    So I invite you to come along with me on this ongoing RV journey.

    I love my Solis. It's so practical and functional. The pop top is not just for kids, for anyone wondering. Two adults can fit up there which gives this little van a sleeping and travelling capacity of 4. For anyone interested or curious, the facebook group for owners and wannabes is a wealth of knowledge and great folks.

    As always a nice job on the presentation.
    With so much of the low hanging objects under the van
    I would be hesitant to take that van off the pavement or over some speed bumps I have seen in some of the campgrounds I have been in.

      Very true -- terrible ground-clearance! And servicing the generator (crawling under the vehicle) doesn't look easy, either. WTH were the designers thinking?

      @@Adventure-Mom I'm guessing even an object in the middle of a paved road (street/Interstate) could be tall enough to cause some serious underbody damage. Drivers need to be VERY attentive re: any objects they drive over.

    Love that rear view mirror. I guess the parts shortage is preventing power seats.

    • @billredding2000
      @billredding2000 Před 2 lety

      ...or maybe because the seats need to swivel around 180 degrees?
      My (Jeep) seats aren't powered, either...but that's likely in case I try to ford more than 30" of water (I guess) and the seats get wet. Doesn't apply to Class Bs though... ;-)
      -- BR

    • @Adventure-Mom
      @Adventure-Mom  Před 2 lety

      Could be parts shortage or it could be just to keep costs down. However, seats can swivel even if they are power seats (Mercedes). Thanks for Watching!

    • @billredding2000
      @billredding2000 Před 2 lety

      @@Adventure-Mom Well, could be...but on such expensive vehicles as Class Bs are, the few dollars it'd cost to make the seats powered seems like a trivial savings in comparison.
      But then Jeep (for one example) makes you pay for pretty much anything extra over a base model -- if you want wheels, a steering-wheel, seats...all that's extra. ;-)
      Sadly, there's no Free Lunch @ Jeep anymore! ;-)

    That new interior is a HUGE upgrade. Love the larger screen with CarPlay / Android Auto and Digital Rearview mirror - smart feature in a van. Note - you should mention the new tech that’s available as well, like blind spot monitoring (etc.). I also like the forward-facing 2nd row seats with 3-point seatbelts so you can safely travel with others. The zippered window covers are also really smart - perfect way to completely block out the sun or prying eyes.

  • @amiralions2681

    I'm glad to see all of the much needed improvements; a place to put your feet when you spin the passenger seat, zipper window coverings are AWESOME, a shower stall big enough to fit more than your eyeballs, tall kitchen faucet, storage under the passenger seats, the under sink area is nicely finished, the insides of the top and bottom cabinets of the whole coach are nicely finished, I'm glad to see the cassette toilet still there! Remaining challenges (for me anyway); there are too many steps up and down inside of the coach, the passenger seats look hard, the rear work/dinner table appears to be locked towards the front of the bedroom and has no seating, refrigerator is too small, the "garage" doesn't appear to have tiedowns for toys, plus you have to lift your toys into the van then onto that little platform. No RV will be perfect for anyone and I'm glad to see people enjoying the Solis, it's just not on my list because you could get a great condition, but used different model with all of the bells, whistles and a flat floor for the same or lesser price. Thank you for the great tour, it's much appreciated!

    Hi Ruby - my wife & I are torn between the 2023 Winnebago Travato 59k or the 2023 Winnebago Solis 59PX (w/o pop top). We've watched (& rewatched) your videos on both models. Definitely want the new chassis due to the 9-spd auto, electrical power steering, and advanced safety features. What are your thoughts between the those two models (it'll just be the two of us)?
    We are working w/ La Mesa RV in San Diego. BTW - your reviews are EXCELLENT, the right amount of information & the right cadence. Thank you!

    • @Adventure-Mom
      @Adventure-Mom  Před 2 lety

      Richard, Thank you so much for the compliments. I see your dilemma as they are both great RVs. For me, the Travato is very similar to the Tellaro 20L that I once owned (similar layout) and is my preferred layout because the rear bath is a great size and the twin beds allow for quick and easy sleeping when you are on the go without disruption the flow of the RV. The Solis would be better if you need to bring some bigger equipment with you and you do not mind the smaller bathroom. Think about how you intend to use the RV and what your preferences are. Either way, be sure to do a good PDI. Hope this helps and Thanks for watching!

      @@Adventure-Mom Hi Ruby - thanks for the reply! Looks like we are going to go w/ the Travato 59K since you don't have the various "levels" in the RV as in the SOlis PX & it just seems so nice & open. Our gear that we can't stow while underway will be stored in as you call it, the "hallway" between the beds. Now we can't wait to get our Travato 59K (2023 model w/ the significant chassis upgrades). Thanks again for the great reviews, VERY helpful 🙂

    Another great review, but this van is not Winnebago's best effort. Love the digital rear view camera! Hate the cassette toilet. No microwave? No sink in bathroom? Zippered privacy curtains--yuck! When connected to city water, do you have to leave the rear door open for the hose to pass thru?

    • @Adventure-Mom

      Hello Roger, This is a nice RV but I agree that it would have been much better with a microwave, bathroom sink, and bathroom medicine cabinet. As for the water intake system, this is not my favorite system but I would imagine that you just fill the water tank as needed. Thanks for Watching!

    Does anyone know why Winnebago is not offering active cruise control on this when it’s available as an option now through the ram platform? It’s kind of maddening as I truly believe this to be a safety feature more than just a convenience option and the fact that they are omitting it seemingly on purpose baffles me. I have been waiting over a year for the updated ram platform specifically for this option before I order this van and now I know my wait was pointless and I’m going to probably buy something different. Literally back to square one in my shopping process. So annoyed.

    • @Adventure-Mom

    Hi Miss Ruby! Very nice tour! Pop top vans scare me. I'm concerned that the fabric might tear after time in the elements and gas struts that almost always wear down after time. Having mice/kids scurrying on top while sleeping is a concern. LOL 🐭🧒

    Do not buy a Winnebago. I purchased a Solis in 2021, it has numerous manufacturing issues: (soft spot on the floor, cabinets that don’t close properly, terribly finished, but the biggest issue is a leaky roof. Had it at the dealership for over 2 months and the fix that Winnebago has for the floor doesn’t work, floor is still soft, and they do not have parts to fix the roof. Right now they have sealed the pop top with a sealant and we will not be able to use it until who knows when. Very disappointed and frustrated.
