Ragnar and Lagertha, two strong warriors, two passionate lovers
but much more simply two human beings who can make mistakes and fail.
They made different decisions and separated, but their love went beyond death itself.

I've never watched this show but that line broke my heart for personal reasons and brought a tear to my eye. We do create our own reality in the mind and so we always are with the one we love.

He was a farmer and all he wanted was to be a family man, farmer and live happy. He never wanted all that power, he just wanted to navigate and be free but his creativity, his spirit of adventure, his wisdom, courage and everything that makes a rare species demanded his power and rule. That’s why ppl admired him and followed him. He was a better man with her bc she was the other side of him compassionate but a true warrior😍 they complimented each other ♥️

He precisely wanted all of that power. That's why he married Auslaug. When he realized the danger and hideousness of some of his son's, esp Ivar, he became remorseful. He realized Lagertha was the love of his life years after he shat all over her. He does admit his mistakes, which is the adult thing to do. He dug his grave.

Her death hit me harder than Ragnars. Maybe because we spent more time with her and saw her suffer more. But glad at the end they are together.
Her story was so powerful. Her betrayals by others, her loss and her heartache and all the time she stayed true to her heart when no one else did
Heart touching when he says I wish I never left our farm . He regrets for all of his faults and all of his failure especially married auslug and letting go lagertha but the love between two of them has never died ❤
If only we all said the words to others that we wish we had taken the time too

He was very narcissistic. He wanted many sons and to become famous and Lagertha couldn't have any more babies. He chose a legacy and infamy rather than their love. I hope he came to regret it in the end. Especially since he became estranged from all his sons.

i always wondered, how ragnars life would have been, if ne never became king. because the way i see it, it changed him for the worse.
He wanted glory and power from the outset. He wasn't a farmer content with his family and raiding the same places year after year. He was the one who wasn't satisfied, who wanted to raid elsewhere, who found out about the compass and had Floki building boats without the Jarl or King's permission. The King tried to stand in his way so Ragnar decided he would become King. His life turned out in exactly the direction he steered it, and it was still not enough. He changed for the worse, he allowed it and wouldn't listen to anyone around him. He did not choose wisely for those who loved him, but I suppose he did succeed in the fame he would sacrifice everything for.
after Ragnar died, I lost a lot of interest in the show... I watched until the end... but Ragnar was the main interest for me...
I almost stopped watching too, but continued on. Definitely wasn’t the same without him but it was great to see Bjorn’s character take off.

I really loved Tom and Liz... but Tom died and Liz died eventually... still a great show... but once the characters I love go... the show just sort of... dies along with the characters I love...

@@thetheraineYeah, Rollo wanted his own game, which was disappointing. I was so happy to see the show was on Netflix. I’ve been re-binging it lol. Last night was the episode when Ragnar died - and I got teary-eyed all over again.
Damn the adventures they had the places they went and people they met. It was one hell of a journey just would have been great if they could have did it all together together anyway nothing tops them reuniting in the sand under the water side by side hand in hand! They for sure had a strong connection. King ragnar and Queen lagertha, enjoy Valhalla!

At the very end, it is the honest und true love of a woman, that's every man seeks and guys we know that.
She was always devoted to him. She never stopped loving him. I always thought they would get back together-they are soulmates. I always hated how he died-I cried when he died in the snake pit.

I understand that Ragnar eventually had to be thrown in the snake pit but, did they have to do it so soon? The show went on for several seasons after and, it was NEVER the same w/out him. The showrunners must have watched to much GOT and thought they could get away w/killing off the MAIN character also-sadly, it backfired. Great tribute BTW
It hits different,when in search of something better you loose your best, you might be happy but a deep void is left never to be filled, just honend by feeling of forceful forgetfulness ,but at some time it hits 3:57 you different,making that wound fresh just for you to remember not to forget.

It wasn't true live. He betrayed her with Aslaug. Then belittled their son for him having the courage to tell his mother the truth. Then disrespected and humiated her in front of their own people by letting Aslaug stay that Lagertha had no choice but to leave. That isn't true love, it is ill-fated if anything. They were not meant to be together because of Ragnar, who he chose to be.
