I love that expression. That is the expression of someone who's just pulled off a prank, realized just how big of a prank they've pulled, and for a split second wondering if they've crossed a line.
It's not a prank. Abby knew that Jed was fixated on the tie 'as a means of success', so she removed it. She wanted him to win on his terms, not something based on clothing.
