- This was rendered in my free time over the course of several months and assembled using different models, materials, lighting, and compositing techniques.
There are several weak shots that have to be redone, but I thought you all would appreciate the quick look at where I currently am in the process.
As always, any pro compositing advice would be greatly appreciated =) - Zábava
Isn’t it amazing that this ship is only in our imagination, but it holds our imagination like no other with its promises. Wonderfully stunning, beautiful ship, outstanding job.
The original refit Enterprise will never be topped.
I always hated the "throttle" on the refit helm. With the precise calculations involved in spaceflight (much less FTL/warp), the imprecision of a "throttle" makes no sense.
Amen Brother the Original Enterprise will always have a major place in my heart.
@@igorschmidlapp6987 That "throttle" merely replaced the ""sliders" from the original bridge helm console.
Idk I kinda like pikes enterprise...
The problem with JJ abrams is that what he failed to realise, the enterprise is just as important to the show as any other character. Every other trek production knew this and always gave us the perfect introduction of the ship, Abrams just saw it as tool or a vehicle and brushed aside its introduction and the idea of it being being like hot rod was laughable.
JJ said that his first question after getting the project was, "How can we make this more like 'Star Wars'?", showing that he just didn't "get it".
I see that we have 3 "versions" now. "GeneTrek", "JJTrek", and "KurtzTrek"...
Is there anything JJ *didn’t* fail to realize?
"BermanTrek" is in there, somewhere.
Yes, you're absolutely right 👍
The problem was JJ wanted to make Star Trek “cool”. Star Trek isn’t cool, it’s *awesome*. Cool is for idiots.
the shot going past jupiter is worth its weight in gold
I almost shed a tear looking at this beauty! Why can’t the movie producers and designers get it right like this?!
They already got it perfect with the original refit. Its cool seeing a new take that mashes all the different versions together like this, but lets not pretend like the refit isn't the most beautiful creation ever.
Sorry, can only upvote this once.@@ChristopherFumerola
The TMP refit is perfect, why would you slander the Refit like this?
@@kommandantgalileo JJ (the idiot) didn't think the ship was important to the story. One of the many mistakes he made.
@@ExWEIMan Heh, it was a mistake.
I'm so glad someone put Bussard collectors on the refit nacelles. That always bugged me.
This is what the kelvin enterprise a should have looked like
Now THIS is the enterprise we should have saw at the end of Beyond!
YESSSSS!!!!!
agreed
This is exactly what I'm thinking
Yes most definitely agreed!!!
I like it.... But it could use a little bit more meat! Several tons of *Dilithium* protein shakes wouldn’t hurt it. 🚀🥤💪👍😁
Giving this kind of ship design a slow and purposeful scene like this really gives weight to it. Makes it feel 1000x more real than any scene in the JJ movies.
The Abrams universe written and delivered more like a comic strip. I'm not saying if that's good or bad, but I personally think the scope and scale is lost, when you have a bunch of colossal starships darting around on screen like a house-flies. In 1979, it was plausible to see the launch of a new starship as an exciting part of an adventure, so it was fine to spend over 5 min on that sequence alone. Nowadays? I guess Hollywood doesn't think we have the attention.
True. However, it's important to remember that this movie was the first time anyone saw a Star Trek ship redesigned, and they wanted to give people who grew up with the original Enterprise the chance to admire and acclimate to the new design. Nowadays Star Trek ships get redesigned every 5 minutes and nobody really cares anymore.
@@deusexaethera 100%
Except perhaps the very first scene with the U.S.S. Kelvin.
@@deusexaethera well considering that they made the Original Enterprise A a Constitution Refit design rather then giving it a new design based more along the lines of the Excelsior then yeah.
Honestly, she takes the best parts of the refit Enterprise and the Kelvin Enterprise and makes them work exceptionally well together, massive fan.
And having the round docking port on the saucer rim makes sense!
The official version of the newly refit Enterprise doesn't look right when you look at the 'arms' connecting the warp engines to the hull. This is a definite improvement. I also had difficulty making sense of the story. It kind of makes sense now. The later films were better.
There are NO "best parts" of the JJTrek Enterprise. It's an Apple store on top of a microbrewery...
I only accept it because it's another universe, which the only thing I like about JJTrek is the cast...
Appreciate the work involved, trying to merge the two, and using the TMP launch sequence from Robert Wise...
@@andrewparkerlarocca8591 Every time I look at the JJ monstrosity's engine nacelle struts I want to make a wish.
I've always seen the original Connie refit warp nacelles as wings, but the JJ 1701-A nacelles look more like splayed legs, like a woman getting a pelvic exam
Love the sense of scale with the close up shots. I don't recall it being done this well in any other video I've seen. Makes it feel more real! Bravo!!
Thia ia the best rendition of the Enterprise I have ever seen. When I was watching TOS as they originally aired, I always hoped those beautiful lines from the shows would be penned by artists everywhere, and made them ever more beautiful.I love all of it!
What a great job taking old and new and making a beautiful compromise that makes perfect sense. Colors are great!!!!!!! 🎉🎉
If this was "just" your version of a rough cut, then I am scared to ask what your final version would look like.
This was absolutely phenomenal. Your design is a perfect mix of the ship designs from TMP and the the rebooted version.
The flyby at 3:21 was awesome. The ONLY thing I would personally change there, is to cut the interior view of flying past Jupiter out, and instead complete the camera swing, watching her on her way out of the solar system.
Keep up the good work. 😃👍
2:10 Chokes me up every time.
This looks incredible! The Enterprise looks amazing! It's like a mixture between the Enterprise-A from Beyond and the Motion Picture version, and is so well blended!
I am always just floored by what talented people who know how to use the tools can do. This is cinema quality.
Outstanding work! The Enterprise looks incredible which I didn’t think was possible given the reboot design she’s based off of. Great work again! Hollywood should be ashamed of themselves. “Like a bad marksman they keep..missing…the target!”
I think it's amazing what you've done, and I look forward to more scenes remade with this design of the Enterprise added to them!
This design of the Enterprise is amazing. A perfect blend of the Prime refit and the Kelvin timeline constitution.
I have never been so speechless by a CZcams video before. Your redesign of the Enterprise doesn't feel like a fan design, it just... *is* what the Refit looks like according to the "historical documents". The renders are just phenomenal, the fine details are just right in a way I couldn't put into words. The subtleties of the movement of that shuttle paralleling the ship, the gradual increase in relative speed being translated through camera moves, and of course, that gorgeous shot at 2:12.
Absolutely fab, can't wait to see more!
Thank you so much for your kind words, I’m not sure I deserve them! 😊
Oh yes you do - this is next level awsome!
"historical documents"? Oh yes, reference noted :)
@@BVCStudiosthis is awesome, am I seeing this correctly as 2 front torpedo launchers for total of 4, love that
Absolutely beautiful.... Now for the Battle of the Mutara Nebula.
That's clean. Very nicely done
I have never said this before, but THAT is a PERFECT interpretation of a re-design of the Refit Enterprise.... just perfect.
i love Kirk’s manner in this, no overly expressed emotions, movements - clear orders and authority but calm in the tone.
and the crew just doing its job.
and that ship … just WOW.
well done… it’s brilliant
I remember when this came out, my dad got some premier passes and I attended one of the first viewings, was excited to see Star Trek on the big screen 😊
got tears in my eyes
she's absolutely stunning.
it's incredible what you've done here.
love the honour guard of shuttles guiding her safely out of dry-dock.
that was pretty dang good. I love how you mixed designs from the 1701 refit and the Kevin timeline 1701. I really nice design.
This really should be Movie 4’s starship, with a -A on the end. Truly astonishing, it really nails the brief of a Kelvin universe refitted Constitution. Absolutely love it.
This is actually more solid than in the reboot movies. The Refit from TMP has always been a work in progress even after the theatrical release, which gives us the engine bay and the view from the night side of earth.
1:31 Great job. Especially love the overhead flyby.
If I may add some feedback/requests after watching this a few times...
The thick girder blocking the view of the saucer from the side and from above, I might recommend repositioning the camera to get those out of frame or to the edge, in addition to removing the shuttle flying right in front of the camera on the side view of the secondary hull (1:12 1:21) . Would look more majestic if the shuttles kept pace with the Enterprise instead of apparently outrunning her at (1:26). Also Jupiter looks very flat, very 2D (3:19) dunno what can be done to change that.
Also I want to end off on a positive (1:55). The relatively thinness of the dorsal and pylon on the original TMP model always looked off to me, this is much closer to looking realistic, that's a strong thicc dorsal and pylons!
I really love what you have done here. Wouldn't mind seeing he TMP Enterprise given the same treatment. I think this is a testement to the work of Doug Trumbull's original, timeless special effects that people on youtube keep remaking and complimenting his work. My only criticism is the beeping from the 2009 movie. It just feels, unnecessary or distracting. That's just a personal preferance. I love the simple movement of the camera moving from right to left as the Enterprise glides past and finaly leaves dry dock. That really sells the shot I think. Plus, as the lights come on, on top of the saucer is excellent. Im' a big believer in lighting to sell a shot like this. Thankyou for sharing and putting a big smile on my face. Look forward to seeing more from you.
WOW; this is incredible! Excellent job! Yeah; this doesn't look like a fan recreation. This looks like a fully professional video done by ILM or someone. I can't wait to see what you do next!
Breathtaking
Love it! A pinch of JJ’s Enterprise with the wonderful refit of the old girl from ST TMP! You had to keep the late great Jerry Goldsmith’s piece!😎🖖🏾
With my last name being Tribble… you know I love this!
I think the footage around 1:56 is the most realistic exterior visual effect of a space craft/starship I have ever seen. You really get a feel of just how big this ship is. It feel like I was watching ACTUAL FOOTAGE of an aircraft carrier or nuclear submarine approaching.
This if effing AWESOME man! I want a whole movie with this beauty!!! The color of the deflector is sooo delicious!
Awesome work. Congrats!!!!
That's a rough cut? That ship is absolutely beautifull. I like the way the pylons and nacelles blend toghether so nicely. This Enterprise could have easily been used in the Motion picture.
A great blend of ship design elements from TMP and the 2009 reboot. Beautiful looking ship.
Indeed.
Man if thats the "rough cut?" boy I wonder how much better it's going to be with the "final cut!"👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 Excellent job on the "rough cut!!!!"🖖🖖🖖🖖🖖🖖🖖
Love what you did with the nacelles not everyone is a fan of the Kelvin Enterprise but could get use to this look.
Very nice re-imagining of a classic!
Appreciate the hard work .. and it shows in the quality.
Muito "fascinante" esse vídeo 🤔
Parabéns 👏👏👏muito bom 👍.
Vida longa e próspera para todos nós 🖖🖖🖖
A beautiful masterpiece. It is amazing how much talent ordinary people have compared to folks who do this as a profession. One of many tragedies in society.
Excellent work, this is what we've been waiting for!
I have never seen an Enterprise design like this and you have done it!!!
Absolutely LOVE this. But I still miss the little drydock worker who does the "space-flip" when she leaves port! 😆
I will get that worker in there for the final!
Wow incredible 🎉 just imagine if they made this Enterprise for the new Star Trek!
What a beauty! Excellent work, guys 👍👍
This is nothing short of amazing! This is how the JJ Enterprise should've looked. It also fits very well with the footage of the movie.
If I hadn't seen this scene already, I would have thought this was the actual film of the ship.
Add another viewer who not only thinks that your Enterprise is beautiful, but who is doubly amazed that you've borrowed so many cues from the J.J.-prise and made them work so well together.
Enterprise gives a feeling like you had when you first got your driver's license just blows me away as if your really in space the final frontier
very beautiful!
Or as checkov would say very bootiful Capt . Lol
those warp necelles spinning bits with some kind of glow effect is exactly what the TMP enterprise was always missing in my mind to make it perfect, instead of the trimmed down bird of prey uplifted wings we got.
Awesome work! The ship design is an interesting blend of the refit and the JJverse ship.
This is how the enterprise should have look like in ST: Beyond. They called elongated nacelles and a thinner neck a "refit" constitution class. Yours actually looks like an amazing evolution of the kelvin constitution design. Kudos to you!
Wow! This looks like it came straight from a new movie! I love the merge of the original Enterprise and the one from the Kelvin Timeline including the sounds. It's so emotional to see this design. She's so beautiful! Absolutely magnificent job!
What a wonderful synthesis of the Kelvin films and TMP. Also, I just love the "beep beep" sonar noise. So distinctive and always brings a smile. :-)
Mr. BVC Studios, report to Paramount Studios immediaetly: This is a stunning work of real beauty and taste!!!
3:17 is an impressive display of the sheer speeds that impulse power can produce. This is a beautiful model!
Amazing work, just amazing!
This is such an organic redesign and so right compared to what we got in TMP. Why couldn't the producers have given us this?
Magnificent! Well done!!
Nice blend of the Enterprise refit and the JJ-Prise! Love it!
Marvelous. Very well done :)
The movie might have been a big bleh monster but these beauty shots of the Enterprise will never get old
Unbelievably good. To think that back when the movie was made it took a whole bunch of SFX technicians and a massive budget to create the sequence.
Absolutely outstanding work. 👏 LOVE the design.
Perhaps one of the best renditions of a Constitution Refit I’ve ever seen. Please make more videos.
Love the Travelfex 🖖
this is the essence of Star Trek. A beautiful Enterprise with the original crew. That will be always the best….
Beautiful blend of new and old design of the Enterprise. The lighting is fantastic from the running lights to the environment. She looks fast. Nice sound effects.
The only thing I can recommend is brightening the blue bussard collectors. That's a Kelvin feature, but it should be as bright as the deflector dish since they are same color. Its just a visual balancing standpoint between the top and bottom of the ship.
Pretty dang cool! Love what you did with the Bussard collectors! Great blending of OG and MP Enterprise refit!
very beautiful and shows the heart of the ship with the crew/movement of the ship in a great rhythmed with the editing. something lost much now is the soul of these vehicles, they're meant not just to be an object flying around by a character onto themselves, a home for the crew not just spectacle for the sake of it. Lovely tribute and should be proud!
Excellent work
Amazing work. Looks absolutely incredible
Holy Smokes. This made my day. I've been looking forward to seeing someone's redo of the refit for this movie. Hit it out of the park with this. Bravo!
Thank you!
Absolutely spectacular!
Finally, the "JJ Enterprise" gets a much needed overhaul! I hated that POS, especially it's secondary hull and it's warp nacelles! This ship has the best of the Constitution class of both universes! Great work!
I like this Enterprise a lot better than the JJ Abrams version. It is a great design. If they are doing star trek 4, they should use this ship.
Wow. Just . . . . . . . wow! Well done!!
That's exceptionally well done.
model and texture work are astonishing. It looks glorious in close up.
That is some amazing work, really beautiful🙏
What a great salvage job on the clunky Beyond design!
I like how that it's a mix of the refit and the kelvin enterprise
Damn fine compositing, lighting, and modeling work. The equal of any studio work.
I still can’t get over the lighting. I love that you were brave enough to let the speculars blow out - really added to the realism. The shadows, too. Amazing
This is very nice work! On a tangent, I love TMP’s engine room.
Outstanding! Thank you for sharing your vision.
Show... fantástico! Excelente trabalho! A Enterprise nesse design está fantástica! Parabéns!!!!!!
Utterly brilliant, awesome & magnificent 🎉
What an incredible video, well worth the wait.
Thank you for all your time and effort you've out into this and a massive thanks for sharing it with us ❤
Expertly done.
Scotty: "I'd love to get my hands on those nacelles." Excellent design here brother
This is one of the best refit versions I've seen yet. The refit to this very day, 40 some years later still gives me chills. Funnily enough SNW's Connie does the same for me now too. A little secret, Captain Sevens "G" Connie is definitely going to be a fav, when Legacy comes out.
Very very nicely done sir! Beautiful
Well done! I love this alot.
That was high budget quality. Well done - please make more.
