Why would the White Stars 'fall' out of hyperspace like that? The B5 gates only punch the entrance/exit hole, they don't create a conduit per say. That, and White Stars were unique in that they were the smallest ships that could open their own jump points.
Why yes, I do remember all that from B5 when it aired originally.
They were using the Vulcan stream, hyperspace in B5 is red and looks very different.
that would also explain, why the destruction of the gates is so "uneventful". The B5 gates have MASSIVE amount of energy stored and destroying them (as seen in the show) causes a gigantic explosion.
based on the warp drive alternative they were developing for the Federation Pre-Burn?@@SpacialKatana
What. A Shadow warship would have handed their arses to them. Remember that Shadow technology is ment to be a million years more advanced.
True but time isn't the biggest factor in advancement. Humans way surpassed Vulcans rate of advancement thus why Vulcans feared them. Even in real life look at rate of advancement we have made in last 120 years. We know from B5 that shadows advance very slow with little to no advancement from the great war 1,000 years earlier.
Let’s also not forget the force setup here. An Earth Alliance vessel with a squadron of Thunderbolt Starfuries and a squadron of White Star destroyers supporting the Vulcans. EA and Ranger forces, post Shadow War, would have had at least one telepath on board to disrupt Shadow vessels per ship. Also, the B5 universe doesn’t have the benefit of shielding (even the ancient Shadows and Vorlons). So the brute force of hitting it with a photon torpedo would have devastated them.
The Shadows developed space travel a million years earlier, but there is no reason to assume their technology advanced continuously during the millennia that followed. In fact, we know that they spent extensive periods in hibernation in between the times of war. That said, humans and Minbari in B5 developed ships that could almost match the Shadow - and with telepaths aboard could actually beat them. It isn't much of a stretch to think a Vulcan or Starfleet ship could hold its own against a Shadow vessel.
I ..was also going to complain about how slow the Vulcan ships were to retaliate..loosing 3 of 4 ships, before dishing out the force that they should have sooner..
As for the ENTERPRISE, wiping out the SHADDOW ship. It was already worn down by the time she got there. Still, typically, she's sharp and solid enough take it in the face a bit, then adapt for a successful and superior offense. This is a regular thing for the ENTERPRISE D.
The Vulcan are just as old
Great job!! And very nice to see the Shadows using their mastery of hyperspace to do hit and fade attacks.
Some one read the og thrawn trilogy, a men of culture!
@@marckrieger3277what does it have to do with Thrawn though?
@@keyboardt8276
Its called hit and run, only in the thrawn they call it Hit and fade, as far as i know.
@@marckrieger3277ah OK 👍
Beautifully done… really amazing 🎉❤
WOW! I’m not sure where to even start! First, this was AMAZING! Your best work in a while. The story was consistent and on point! The new opening credits were amazing! The crash into the city completely unexpected! You outdid yourself today! Still one of the best original content follows on here! Thank you so much for this!
Excellent, your video's are ramping up to an all new level 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
WOW !!!
Vulcans in B5 space, that's going to be - fascinating..
Great job! Thanks for uploading this. 😊
One of your best ones yet!!! Great work!!
this is some of your best work my friend. Nicely done!!!🖖
The inter dimensional warp is a great idea. 👍
This reminds me of how good a composer Chris Franke is. Got the soundtracks on CD when they were released. Haven't listened in decades. Excellent video too.
These are decades old!? The music to this, especially once the battle starts brewing, is so epic
Early 90's dude ;)
Great job. Loved coming home from work to find this! Makes the day! Qapla!
That was great, really well done!
Lovely animation, I love the crossover between Trek and B5!!!!
Well done Special Katana. Long wait. Happy Thanksgiving to all from Earth...
Happy holidays!
That was a fun one. Thank you yet again.
Id love to see the shadows go against the Borg
If the Borg were able to somehow assimilate a shadow, heaven help them all. Would be "most interesting" though.
A pont ive been making 1 borg cube would assimilate the entire b5 universe
@@Spawn-td8bf the Shadow might just counter assimilate them, they are pretty good at subversion
@@torg2126 Now THAT would " be most interesting". And even scarier. Although species " 8472 " terrified the Borg, the Borg being helpless on their own against them, so the shadows may indeed give them a run for their money.
Very well done, congratulations.
LOved this, natural it is upto your usual brilliant standards
Marvelous, just plainly Marvelous!!!!! 🤩
Thank you ..This was Epic
Finally excellent, thank you.
Great Video, good to see the team up !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That was really good 🖖 Thanks
Bravo, Bravo, Bravo!!! *finally* a longer form video!! It's long overdue in my opinion and I find myself starting to "warm-up" to the cross contamination of the different origins. Your sheer bravery in doing this shit is really impressive, and I am always happy to get a notification from YT for a new video. Keep it up??
Great vid!
That’s beautiful! Even if folks don’t agree with the outcome. Personally, the D looked so majestic coming in and saving the day, and being the Galaxy-class is my favorite… 😃
Freaking awesome!!!!! 👍👍👍👍👍
Great visual story telling. The words used on screen added to the context of the story in a positive way.
Cheers
It would be really crazy if the ST universe got some of the shadow tech and developed hybrids like EA did in B5. ;)
It would be really cool if the ST ships weapons worked.
@@theidajawho In typical crossovers, Star Trek phaser weapons would've shredded things, but I suspect the depiction against a Shadow ship is probably fairly accurate if these are indeed early era Vulcan ships. The Enterprise-D's torpedoes would obliterate anything in the B5 universe; a universe where nuclear weapons are often considered the big bad WMD.
@@alphanerd2305 and what about ship shields?
@@theidajawho Excellent point. It strikes me that the Star Trek shield system would survive quite a bit of pounding from weapons in B5. Even early era Vulcan ships had a solid shield system in comparison to other Trek races. But without knowing the in-universe explanation for how Shadow weapons work, it's hard for me to hazard a guess beyond that.
@@alphanerd2305 But the shields should at least be there. All of these B5 - Star Wars - Star Trek crossovers almost never take Star Trek shields into account. And lets not even talk about what a Star Trek transporter system would do to unshielded ships. "Transporter Room, beam a Quantum torpedo to their bridge"...lol
awesome! Well done!
Thank you! Cheers!
excellent work.
Great work in your animation done there.
Amazing!
I swear to the non exixting good, seeing shadow ships blowing stuff up never gets old to me!
Also nice touch letting the enterprise open a hyperspace window with her deflector this thing is starfleets swiss army knive it can do everything the plot need it to do.
' it can do everything the plot need it to do'
Glad I'm not the only one that thinks that :)
Hey Starfleet engineers can make replicators out of rocks remember.😂

The models, particularly the White Stars, looked really good.
WS model is 23 years old :)
Maybe the Vulcans should have blocked the Shadow Vessels telepathically!
Excellent
Amazing visuals.
Thanks.
Yay!! For the Enterprise!!
Didn't she do well 🤗
Thanks!
So how is it Whitestars can get disabled in subspace, if a jumpgate is destroyed, when they can open their own jumpgates while in subspace?
CZcams really needs a Brilliant button as well. Absolutely fantatstic
Cool
That Was Good! Real GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!
Great animation
Oh damn, Photon torpedos destroyed a Shadow?
You nerfed the shadows or what? or did you Buff the Federation?
Great video..
Both!
They are 25 megaton warheads
Shields make all the difference and Trek is using anti-matter warheads.
Without shields Trek ships fall as easily as any younger races ships (unless they have ablative armor like Defiant), but shields give Trek ships a window of opportunity to fight back (just not a very big one).
Also the Shadow vessel had been weakened by the assault of the other 3 ships, so it couldn't defend itself as effectively as it normally would.
Plus Photon Torpedoes are about 30-40 megatons/shot, so they are no joke in terms of fighting power, even against Shadows.
For context in B5 a Vree saucer was able to down a Shadow Vessel in a single volley, using it's anti-matter projector cannons, a Photon Torpedo is a more contained version of said weapon, but the end result is similar, just delivered differently.
@@Keemperor40KFederation starship hulls are reinforced by structural integrity fields and have been shown to be really tough as well
@@keyboardt8276, that fact obviously didn't help the Enterprise D during Star Trek Generations if you recall.
Very Cool, Thank You. love B5 and trek, all that was missing was a Battle star :), just kidding. the video was perfect.
Looks pretty good.

Honestly, I just got a model of the Vulcan ship and ran with it...
I like ship designs that don't look like a frisbee and 2 toilet rolls.
Thank you.
Awesome
What kind of hyper space travel was that for the B5 ships? Some sort of Hyper space Express Slipway
AMAZING TO THE MAX I LOVE THE WHITESTARS. i was kinda worried the other two wouldn't make it out
Love the new intro btw

Aren’t the Vulcan ships crewed by telepaths? Would a Betazoid be able to affect Shadow vessels?
Betazoids are empathic, not telepathic. It's different.
@@SpacialKatanaDeanna was empathic because she was half betazoid, full betazoids are telepathic according to her mother
@@keyboardt8276 Deanna could communicate telepathically with her mother as well, but not other people.
The shadows vs the undine would be cool.
Groovy
Nice 1💯
I don't think that Shadow beams could have gotten through Vulcan shields so easily, but I guess it's possible. Remember, too, that Vulcans are powerful telepaths - that means the Shadow ships should be running in the opposite direction!
telepathy can really help them, but the best thing you can do is run away. Unless you're a billion-year-old civilization living entirely on a single ship, I can't imagine how you'd be able to defend against that shot or shoot back. There was always one scenario: you saw a ship of shadows, and this was the last second of your life, then you were simply cut in half, there could be no protection. The fact that any "enterprise" could damage the shadow ship is completely outlandish. Just look at the Federation and Romulus ships - they are structures made from tin cans; Such primitive ships, at best, can fight the Centauri - this is their level, approximately similar technology and economy. I wrote somewhere in another video that a shot fired by a planet killer is equivalent to several trillion tons of antimatter, otherwise it is impossible to make an object with the mass of a planet disappear.
I’m really interested, the Universe is not so old, a lot of time passed there for the first stars to appear, then stars from their remains, then planets, then another billion years for the simplest evolution, can life even exist, which has an additional billion years to was there an evolution?
Is subspace and hyperspace the same or different in this reality.
battlecrab be like "Allow me to introduce myself"
Excellent, oh how I loved Babylon 5.
I wonder what software(s) they use to create the models and how difficult to create a ship from three models (Galaxy class/battleship, USS Reliant and NX-01)? ;-)
Software used is Lightwave 3D, and splicing parts of different models together (known as kit bashing) is easy.
Love everything about this! Animation, FX, music, pacing, camera work. Well done! The mesh fragmentation is something I want to do. Is this done in Unreal or Unity? Maybe blender? No matter what it's great. Congrats.
Done with Lightwave 3D. Cheers.
Great but would have loved to see the Earth ship with the rotation section fitted.
Made loads of videos with it if you care to look.
Very interesting video. One thing has me confused, however. The 2 other white stars that seemed to get stuck in hyperspace... why was that? white stars have jump engines to get in and out of hypsespace without the need of a jump gate.
They weren't in B5 hyperspace...the stream they were in collapsed when Spidey destroyed the gate.
@@SpacialKatana ty for explaining. :)
@@little-wytch No worries.
I only have one gripe.... Some more sound effects little less music... Its always nice to hear plasma cannons firing in the B5 verse and the sound the Whitestars engines make .... and of course the Photon torpedoes from Enterprise !!! ... Can I ask what class of ship was the EARTH ALLIANCE cruiser was , it did not have the spinning section so I'm guessing it was the newer Warlock class with minbari tech .. ?... Great video was nice to see the cross over 👍💯
Then someone comes in whining that 'there's no sound in space' Lose lose situation for me, and it's just easier not bothering with SFX, not to mention I only have about 4 B5 sounds anyways
@@SpacialKatana not a whine , I thought that the video was amazing, I guess we get spoilt by the respective shows and get used to hearing those effects.
Species 8472 vs The Shadows. Now that would be an interesting match up.
The Shadows would be wiped out within 22 seconds after the encounter. No Chance.
I liked this second video much better. Vulcans and the Federation worked together. The first one all three Klingon vessels were destroyed with hardly any effort.
Love the video but quick question? Why would the Vulcan ship go back to the B5 universe with no return gate?
Actually, there's one still in the B5 universe and the Enterprise D could still create the same wormhole from the Star Trek Universe.
part 3 maybe?
@@SpacialKatana looking forward to it!!
Something I"m going to have to google later: If a B5 ship without a Jump Drive is going through Hyperspace, and its end point Jump Gate is destroyed, is it marooned in Jump Space (there was one episode where a fighter was trapped and had to be rescued, as I remember)?
That marooned fighter met a Shadow...
So who is in the flying box ship?
The Enterprise to the rescue! 💪
Don't understand why the shadow vessel did a straight stand up fight instead of their usual stealth attacks for the battle at the end.
There is a Guy unfortunatelly don't remember His Channel Where He Put Diferente Spaceship Franchises to Fight each Other BSG vs Startrek Voyager Stargate Ori Ships vs Startrek and So On B5 Ships as Well to Shadows included...
What about a phase variable quantum torpedo simply beamed to the shadow warship?
GREAT WORK! I couldn't figure out at first why you gave the Enterprise-D a victory over a Shadow vessel. I'm guessing you watched Picard Season 3
Watched the last episode just for the FX, no idea what was going on 😝
🤣
Well made show.! However. Wondering what's with the Vulcan ships taking so long to fight back.?
Normally it'd be clipped with live action footage and make a whole lot more sense...plot..drama..etc
@@SpacialKatana ..."plot"... rrrright..!..I forgot. Vulcan..logic..occasionally enormously thick headed..but good calculators. Oh well. There goes their ship building budget for the month.
Interesting combo of B5, Star Trek, and SG1.
Did you dust off the video toaster software that they used in the original series to produce this one?
I do use the same software they used (Lightwave) yes.
Well done, but you saw what damage one Shadow ship did. This would d have been a slaughter if there were two or more Shadow ships.
I read that "and now the conclusion" in that star trek voice lol
Works better if you do 😏😁

The Shadow vessel would have flayed open every one of those ships!
Yeah but short vid...plenty of times I'vbe carved it up :)

Thnks 👍
I would like to see how the shadows would do against the Ori from stargate SG-1
The shadows got planet killers too mostly for all out war destruction, the vulcans should go hang out with the vorlons, they like logic and order
Very nice work but make sure you change the settings on your "stars" so that they don't cast shadows.
Eh? They're on a background image so I've got no idea what you're on about
Right, I DEFINITELY seen some X4 ships lol, some of those fighter craft, and at least one of the ships
The shadows are long for the universe!
Interesting how B5s Universe Earth and Star Treks Universe Earth cross, I get the feeling B5 is an alternate what/if reality to that of Star Trek, or are they Parallel universes? Either way, I like how the Vulcans got the short end of the stick, seems "Live long and Prosper" is fightin' words to some. Great job and enjoyable to watch.
Not expecting you to jump ship or anything -- if I still had access to Cinema 4D CE (free with PC Format magazine) from way back I'd still be using it. But Blender has had an incredible overhaul of it's UI in current updates and I'm wondering if you've ever given it a look recently? The difference is night and day from it's early days when I nearly rage-uninstalled it. The dev's seemingly realised that causing immense psychological pain and suffering is maybe not the point of a user interface.
I keep it updated, but only use it to convert models if needed. Not actually opened it in ages.
@@SpacialKatana I found the improvements to the Blender UI to be shocking - from a software that nearly made me toss my PC out the window to something that's pretty intuitive and fun to use. I did use an older version of Lightwave once -- mainly for modelling. Cinema 4D at the time had the advantage in volumetric lights for glows and laser effects. I really wanted to us it because Lightwave was the software they used for Babylon 5.
Now this is the kind of death battle I want to see no animals fighting to death
Now galaxy class federation ships too,? Destroyed 2 Shadow vessels? Nuts
Wow..that Enterprise had SOME technology going on!
I know, it's like they can suddenly invent shields to protect them from a star or something...
So that is why Enterprise always won, it's just OP.
Not watched many of my vids then? 🤣
@@SpacialKatana Nope, but I know this now! 😘
