OMG, your Flosstube has become my absolute favorite. I wish I lived in Minnesota; I would travel to meet you! Your banter is so hilarious! Jane, your Life Changing Tip is soooo true! It has happened to me and, I am sure, to many others. Julie, thanks for your tip about using the "in" hole rather than the "out" hole of the needle. As a response to your ending, prayers to you all.

I really think that you should have Tshirts printed up with that Life Changing Tip on it. Oh Lord. I may laugh all day about that one. Lipo suction on 40 count.. the drawer of no return...ahh the secrets, Good friends will live in the drawer together. On a serious note thank you for bringing the issue of mental health and suicide into the light. My work before retirement was 35 years as a psychologist for teens. I still after all these years can see the faces of those that could not imagine that "one more day". That being said you are exactly right give it one more day, call someone, reach out. The darkness can pass.

Dear Ladies - THANK you 🙏🏻 You could not be more right with your words on the end of this clip 💞…after living 30years in America, I came (2017) back to Germany to be there daily and care for my parents. Lost my Mom 2019 to cancer and been daily with my dad until I discovered him one Morning - he had ended his life😢 I’ve myself been many times „in dark places“, constantly living with guilt for having defected communism and my parents …now it just added the guilt of not being there with my dad day and night … ONE DAY AT THE TIME 💞🙏🏻

Oh ladies I’m so glad I found your videos you keep me in stitches and I love your work.
Jane do not worry about boring us we love to see whatever you do, it opens up our choices. I was laughing with and shouting I did the same thing when you announced stitching a design twice ! Mine were only 6 months apart. I paid a big price for a Prairie Schooler Santa with a sewing machine and stitched it immediately Then when I decided to do a few more Santa’s for the season I did it again and nothing jogged my memory until I put it away and discovered my goof.

I have heard of purchasing the same chart more than once, loving it so much, makes twice as nice. But I have never stitched a chart twice without knowing I had already stitched it. Laughing with you my friends, laughing with you. When you choose to finish them both, you have one for yourself and one for a friend. Your friend would treasure it right Julie? (Wink wink)

You end message is very pertinent. We go about our lives blithely unaware of anyone else's problems. We tend to be so self absorbed that, even during conversations, we aren't truly listening. Men are particularly vulnerable. Here in Australia we have a campaign called 'RUOK?' That encourages us to ask the question then really take in the answer both spoken and unspoken.

You two are a hoot! I use 12” lengths of silk to avoid it fraying. You stitch white first because there is a chance of picking up the colored fibers as you stitch. In your case the white could become pink! Chocolate girls too! Jane, I like Shepherds Bush too. I lost all of my work save two pieces we found balled up in Katrina. I’ve got in excess of 70 WIPS that run the gamut from samplers to Lizzie Kate and 28 ct to 56 ct. I stitch what I like when I like. Julie, I always stitch the letters first then fill in the background. I do t worry about the letter stitches standing up, I just stitch everything using the same tension. Regarding silk - I stitch 2 handed and always have to twist my needle to retaliate the thread - this happens to me with either cotton or silk. It may help you to twist your needle every 10 stitches or so. Jane - OMG! Your needle threading was too funny! Luckily I use readers when stitching so I always know whether I’m threading the eye or the tip LOL

You two are so hilarious! Enjoy you so much! I was so excited to see your Vintage Sampler. Wish I didn't have so many WIPS....I would attempt some new stitches. Julie, when you were talking about stitching the single columns for the lettering on the "feed bag" pattern...it reminded me of a Flosstube I watched by Blitstitch. Flosstube #5 about diagonal parking, but he talks technically about coming up into an empty hole and going down into a hole already filled with threads. I do some full coverages and I don't like it when I'm finishing stitches where the surrounding holes are filled. This is why I don't do cross country anymore. Blitstich's name is Bryan. He is an engineer, so has thought out his own theory of cross stitch. Very informative. Let me know what you think.

Thread splitting happens to me also with DMC and I think it is because the thread is very old. As far as the 40 count, ditch it! Work on fabric that gives you pleasure. My favourite fabric is 25 count lugana and when I use that I do one thread, full cross over one and it looks great. The only time I use different count is when there is blending (two different colours in the needle).

So, I'm never going to watch you two anymore. You cost me money and I'm thinking about sending you an invoice. Having discovered you only last week (1st week of September) I have had to buy the tree pattern with the sheep by the Italian people (names? memory?!?) and today I've just watched this video and have HAD to buy Give Thanks for All Things. Stop it. Just stop it.
My problem? I'm hooked on Jane and Julie. You two are an absolutely fabulous pair and if it wasn't so far from me (Dorset in England) to you in Minnesota I'd be round there for pie and chocolate and M&Ms sooner than you could cross a stitch. Hi Jane and Julie... you both always have wonderful projects to share with us and today was no exception. Especially that particular tip about threading the needle. Had a good chuckle on that one!!! I am stitching the 12 days of Christmas by Hello from Liz Mathews right now and they are the cutest stitch!!
Jane my heart skipped a beat when you said you gave yourself one more day. I commend you on having the courage to do it. I hope and pray that those words got through to someone who really needs to hear that. I have breathing problems and I heard a phrase from an EMS who was calming down a young boy who was having problems breathing. We are told to inhale through your nose and exhale through your mouth. He said smell the roses and blow out the candles. That sentence made such sense to me and has helped me visualize how to breath when it is panic time. Thank you so much to both of you and keep up the good work.

Jane and Julie, thank you so much for shouting out my channel. That was totally not necessary, but I do appreciate you. You're one of my favorite duos to watch on Flosstube! Great tip on using the spool hugger on the perle cotton balls along with the sticky dots! It's been a long while since I've used any and noticed how unruly the balls were while reorganizing my threads last night. I'll have to pick some of the huggers up (I have some of those dots). Thank you for sharing that.
Jane, you shared profound wisdom in your closing. Thank you for letting your watchers know that the real bad days are only temporary. I'm so sorry for the friends and family of the person that succumbed to the darkness. Julie, I don't know what happened, but I saw your tears in your eyes. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.
Jane, thank you for sharing your life changing tip. 🤣 Your brain must have been too busy processing other things at those times. I don't have an explanation for stitching the Lizzie Kate again. 😄 You are NOT the only Shepherds Bush stitcher! I love SB and have stitched up/made several of their stockings and other designs, too. I just don't have any I've begun recently. Stitch what makes you happy regardless of feeling you need to stitch other designs for Flosstube. I so enjoy your videos :). You make me smile and sometimes laugh out loud! I love seeing your shepherd’s bush pieces Jane - thanks for sharing - and always stitch what brings you joy. Julie I absolutely love your Vintage Sampler! I went to your website to purchase it because I decided I needed it :). But the website shows Out of Stock. Was in looking in the wrong section? Please let me know. I’d love to see your technique for doing drawn thread and I’d also like to learn how to hem stitch. I appreciate you sharing your talents :)). And I will always remember your life changing tip Jane and I’ll think of you and smile every time I thread a needle!! Thanks ladies.

You two are so funny - really, I just love you’re sense of humor. A couple tips that I’ve heard (not that you asked for my opinion 😂) - when working on 40 count fabric it may take a few days for your eyes to get accustomed to the smaller count. So before throwing the project in the corner 😂 - give it a few days. For stitching with silk I’ve heard that using no more than an 18” length of thread is best so it doesn’t fray. Jane - love your finished pieces. Really nice! Julie - I would love to see you demo some of the Hardanger stitches. I’m self taught from back in the 70’s/80’s before there were many instructions on Hardanger. Joan Elliot also does designs for Halloween and Christmas - they’re all gorgeous. I haven’t seen the Thanksgiving one - thanks for sharing.

Jane, I'm so sorry to hear of your needle threading dilemma, please know you are not alone and Julie, thank you for the enlightenment on the actual proper entrance and exit sides of a needle eye, who knew? Thank you ladies for another enjoyable and encouraging video, so happy you gave it one more in many ways, Kristy.

I highly recommend the white handled scissors and/or the pink handled scissors with the "click" cover that I sell on my website. I will show them in our upcoming video again... -julie
