    I clearly remember what the crow look like back in 94 in the movie theater because I seen it so many times I can't even count. This is how a 35 mm film should look on a 4K . pay attention James Cameron . Thanks Paramount please be consistent with your future titles ! ....

    I had been watching an upscaled digital version on Vudu.
    My first impression of the 4K/UHD disc were your exact words "Damn" the opening scene of the Crow flying over the city and the clarity were amazing.
    They did such a good job on this and I was happy getting it.

    They did a amazing job with this. I was not able to see it on the blu ray but now I can see where FX were used over the actors face.

    I watched the 4k the other day and I was impressed, it wasn't that long ago I watched the BR and it was very noticeable improvement and the BR isn't bad. Is it just me or do the effects looks even better on this release, which usually are noticeably worst looking on 4k. Great video.

    can't wait for my copy to be delivered - those image comparisons were simply mind-blowing. Thank you.
    Ps. Mentioning dark city - it would be a dream to get a 4K transfer of that too some day

    I hadn't seen it since VHS on a tube TV so that was a fun new way to see it the best it's ever looked! Absolutely love the Walmart steelbook too.

    Totally agree, i saw it in uhd streaming a while back and seen the vhs countless times so that 4k stream was mind melting and was like the first time seeing it with so much detail and texture i was shocked. the 4k disc is a no brainer : D

    I remember seeing the crow at the movie theaters may 1994 and the 4k looks amazing watched it last Tuesday once I got home from work . Movie still get me emotional more now than it did back then. Maybe cause I'm getting older 😢

    I feel the blu ray still looks very good considering it's age, 4k is the clear winner though, this film in terms of mood and style reminds me of Seven, which again is another good looking blu ray when you consider how long that's been available to buy, 12 +years + buy? super excited to see how those black levels and overall clarity stack up on 4k, I am sure it will look amazing!
    I just received my copy of The Crow Steelbook 4k, today and will be checking it out later this evening. Great video, these comparisons videos are really helpful. 👍😁

      Yeah, the bluray has been great the past few years and there were problems I never really picked up on before with the bluray until I compared it to the 4k.

  • @Jeremyreed7

    The 4k is Amazing, though I wish you used better screen shots for the comparison, too many distant dark scenes

      100% better for 1 reason it's 2160p and not 480p

  • @erikliterature8162
    @erikliterature8162 Před 2 měsíci +1

    Not having seen actual screen caps, I can still say that this transfer is not faithful to the source. Increasing contrast and saturation doesn't make the image look better. It may fit the idea of the mood but is now how it was shot. I can't see if there's more detail in the 4k in this video, so I have to look for that somewhere else before making a final judgement.

    • @TwinFlicks
      @TwinFlicks  Před 2 měsíci

    • @erikliterature8162
      @erikliterature8162 Před 2 měsíci

      @@TwinFlicks I have now seen the 4K on disc and can say that it looks good, considering the film stock it used. The contrast is, in my opinion, cranked to the max, but it's really only the highlights that fairly often get blown out. I would have wished for a bit restraint on that. This film is probably never going to look better so I guess anyone who likes it should get it while they can. Physical media is the way to go. I watched it on a calibrated 55" OLED TV. Plenty of healthy grain on display.

  • @RandomPickles

    Looks like there is crushed details in those deeper blacks though. ALOT of crushed detail. Must just the CZcams compression or somethign if you are saying that is not the case.

    • @TwinFlicks
      @TwinFlicks  Před 20 dny +1

      It's youtube compression. There is no crushing. That's one problem with these videos on youtube is the compression rate.

    The bluray is looking way better in your screencaps than the 4k….
    The 4k is to bright and washed out. The skin and faces are to white…
