Re: my brushes, yes, me too, they are now going to come out in September, Its okay, though, I appreciate everyone's support, and just another month-ish.. I really cannot wait! Thank you! I was hoping for this tutorial after watching your short version. Watching and listening to you first really helps. Then I watch again as I try. You make it look soooo easy, but I'm always surprised how tricky it is to stay loose and not try too hard.
It can be indeed, its a feel, practice a lot with "damp in damp" much easier than a fully loaded dripping wet brush~ I have a tutorial I want to do that creates the look of wet on wet but much easier! I hope to share soon.. Happy playing friend!
This is beautiful, so happy to see you branching out with colors. That blue just adds something special to any painting for me, even just the tiniest or palest bits of it.
Also, you give the very best detailed explanations of how to do the strokes.
Have you seen the Color Catalog Companion sets? Two different sets of them with beautiful cards that have the colors selected for you. You just pull out the cards with colors you feel like and go. It has them broken down in values too. They are absolutely gorgeous, high quality and delicious. Just looking at them makes you swoon. The boxes are beautiful to display too.
Yes! I have one I invested in (was quite pricey) by Sarah Renae Clark. Its been a lot of fun to create/mix the colors and fun inspiring palettes~ I agree, and I am a visual, seeing the cards, and colors together is SO inspiring just makes me want to run into my studio and paint something!
Wow Debbie, I absolutely love this. Can't wait to try this look out. The beautiful bright flowers remind me of a pot of bright pansies. Pansies were used for decoration so much in the Victorian era, as well as now. So glad you stepped out of your comfort zone to try these colours together. Many thanks. Think I'll be doing many of these types of paintings now.
Yes, you are right, they do look like vibrant pansies which I love! I always say I was born in the wrong era and love all things Victorian, the gardens, dishes, dresses. so lovely! I cant wait for you to try this, too, use your most avoided palette colors :-) It really can be a lot of fun, happy painting friend!

Thank you Yes, that Filbert is oodles of fun! and makes flowers so easy. They have pushed back my release to September, fingers crossed!
