    Welcome everyone. The only purpose of these vids is going to be to get info out to those looking to do an EFI upgrade. I wanted to share an unbiased view of how everything went while installing the Aces Killshot EFI system. The difference is going to be that I (for now) intend to blend it with FiTech's Force Fuel mini instead of Aces' fuel solution.
    Why the EFI upgrade? Here's some issues I've been having:
    Hard starts, dies when put in gear, Idles erratically, card flood after lack of usage when starting and half the times when driving, I don't drive it enough to keep the carb from gumming up, I have to dip clean the carb multiple times per year to make it driveable, car bogs or dies on acceleration from stop, the car dies when coming to a stop after exiting the freeway and a laundry list of other issues that come from being unable to drive it daily... or even more than twice per month.
    If you'd like to see a blog about how I fixed the car from a basket case feel free to check out my ancient blog at 67camarors.blogspot.com/ Thanks for stopping by and please be kind... I'm not a youtuber just a guy with something that I think a few people might wanna see because they are also experiencing issues and are looking for solutions. Thanks!

      Thanks. I'm going to try my best. I'm trying to keep these under 20 mins each and that seems to be harder than expected. I'm going to try to finish in January. My first install will most likely be the FiTech Mini install. Once the fuel system is in, I will start on the Killshot.

    I agree with their decision on the clamp on bung. Mine came with everything and was fine.

      Thanks. If I can get it to last a year maybe then I'll take the exhaust in for refitting and have the bung welded in

    Mine was packaged identically to yours, except protective plastic on the handheld display. Also had a light grease smudge on the bottom of the throttle blade.

      No kidding... even with the black foam outside the box? Did your TB also poke through the box and shipping box like mine or is that just my luck continuing as normal? Lack of plastic on the display was kinda telling for me. I'm a Quality Assurance auditor now and when the plastic was missing and the foam was outside the box, it drove me to look deeper. I'm used to looking for things like that.

    mine came packaged exactly like yours

      Yeah, I'm thinking they changed their packaging a bit from the original video I had seen. I did retract one of my comments though in my Part 7 Completion video. The handheld did indeed have a protective cover that I had just not seen because it was stuck on there so well. I need to get my prescription checked I guess. ;-)

    Looking at the exterior shipping box vs the killshot box, it looked as if they maybe added an extra foam layer between the 2 boxes to take up the open space. Just my observation.

    • @dc10tech911
      @dc10tech911  Před 6 měsíci

      Honestly I think the foam layer was left out of the box by accident because the box was empty by the thickness of that one layer. Sadly, if they had left it out of the box and put it below it it would have added the layer of protection that it needed anyway.

    Was the protective plastc film on the screen of your display?…i bought the same exact setup for my sons ‘67 mustang 289 and i love it, it works like a charm…but looking at the way your was packaged i would definitley say with confidence that yours was a returned item that got resold!!!

    • @dc10tech911
      @dc10tech911  Před 8 měsíci

      No. Actually it did not have a plastic film on the display and that is something I had noticed but forgot to mention in the video. Because of this, the display did have some micro scratches but they aren't bad and I can live with them. I imagine they wont be noticeable when it lights up so I'm good with it.

    Just bring the bung to the exhaust shop and have them weld it in…just bring a plug so you can drive it home and the usb adapter i dont even recall seeing one in my box i will have to go out and check….your padding theory is 100% correct

    • @dc10tech911
      @dc10tech911  Před 8 měsíci

      Yeah, I plan to do the weld in at some point. My exhaust was one of the first run of the bolt on units from Pypes Performance. I chose it because at the time it was one of the few reasonably priced stainless systems on the market (mostly because they were new) and it was supposed to "bolt on". The problem with that is that 1) it's stainless and I can't weld stainless and 2) it didn't "bolt on" as nicely as it should. It hangs way too low and needs to be re-bent in some areas to get it to sit better. For now I want to drive it as is until I can take the whole car to the exhaust shop and have the whole thing fixed at once. As usual, that has to run through committee and so I needed a good temporary solution that can last about a year or so.

    How long did it take for u receive ur aces unit as of tomorrow it will be a week that I ordered my master kit from them and I’ve sent a few emails and tried to reach out to them via hard line and still no response

      Hiya Cody. It took exactly two days. Your problem may lay in the fact that it was Thanksgiving week and they might have shut down for that entire week. Did you get an invoice? I got two separate emails when my purchase went through. One was the invoice and one was a tracking email. If you got the tracking email, there is a link to UPS for you to track. If not, it probably hasn't shipped yet and you might want to call them since it's now past the Turkeyday window. Hang in there and good luck with your upgrade.

      Same here. I ordered the Jack Pot system on the Black Friday sale. (On Thursday) tracking shows label created but that’s it. Probably off for thanksgiving and came back to a lot of orders.

    Seems to me with as many complaints you have about it you would have just sent it back and asked for your money back simple solution if you are unhappy about something especially a product just saying

      A very good point, but I've gone through that before and learned my lesson. Returning things that are on sale only gets you replacements at full price and you miss the sale. The original purpose of these vids was to cover my butt if it did in fact turn out to have taken damage and ran poorly. At least I could show these dated vids to prove I wasn't the one that caused it. Really, there were two "complaints". 1) There were things missing or wrong from what I expected. ACES took care of those in a very timely manner and went above and beyond with the whole O2 bung thing. I have zero complaints about that. 2) The biggest complaint, really, is the misplacement of the padding. I hope it isn't going to cause issues once I get it running but we'll see. The reason why I stuck with them is because out of all the current EFI companies out there they are noticeably trying their best to break into the market and treat their customers well. They are, compared to other companies I've seen reviewed, more likely to honor their warranty and be helpful in the install and tech support... and yes... that includes Holley (I've owned Holley products before). Have you ever had a good feeling about someone before? That's what I have about these folks. They seem to honestly want to be helpful and provide a good product. So... maybe that's it then. For some reason, they just seem honest to me. Perhaps that's foolish of me but we'll see. The videos will tell you guys.

      @@dc10tech911 yeah that’s what I did. I didn’t get the clamp on bung either but did get the weld in. Bought an exhaust cutter from Amazon and took it to a muffler shop. $10 cash and it’s welded in. Used a stainless band clamp when reinstalling. Works great!
