No you lose down to players, Lescotts getting nowhere near the current city teams bench, let alone the starting line up. Only kompany, silva, Toure and Aguero make the curent team.
The disrespect on Mancini is crazy, yes he is not on Guardiola level but, he had the record for most points in a Serie A season ever, Premier league title and Euro title, and he has a lot of wins in tournaments compared to league titles, so in a one off game, i don't think Pep is that much better. Now, Pep is probably better at buidling a team that can win for an entire season (even tho mancini is great at that as well) but a one off game? i am not sure, on the contrary...i think, with all due respect, that no, the 2012 team in terms of player...is not that close, he was a great team for sure, but still not hat close to the quality of players that this squad has.
@@thangbui8525 .......i am not arguing that at all, not sure why you felt i didn't say Pep was better than Mancini....i just said that the difference in a one off game is not that big, and the real difference in a one off game in this case would be the players and not the managers.
@@Yud-nk7wz Thing is, he is not saying Pep is better, he is saying that the squad is of the same quality, which to me its not true at all...but he is saying this because he was a part of the team, but that the coach would be the real difference in a one off match if the old and new squad were to face each others, wich again, not only i don't agree with it, but to me, it is kinda disrespectful (not in a serious way of course) because not only he is severly downplaying the ability of Mancini in a one off game and overexaggerating Guardiola's , but he is also severly downplaying the contribution Mancini gave to his Man City squad, by comparing the squad he was a part of to the treble winning Man City squad, which to me, is much much better.
If treble winning Man City were so great, why did they lose 1-0 to Brentford, or lose 2-0 to Southampton in the League Cup? Even great teams have bad days.
@@MrChipz900 Walker is debatable, but it's fine. But do you seriously believe that this current City team is better than the 2017-2019 team just because they won the UCL?
@@tpc1416 hmm, I always think it’s hard to judge eras. I’m an Arsenal fan and have a special feeling for the ‘98 side, maybe more so than the invincible. Both city squad has some pretty special players.
@@MrChipz900 the way I look at this City team is firstly, the 2017-2019 team dominated basically everybody. This team wins comfortably yeah, but they don't dominate. Secondly - KDB was there for both the 2017 team and 2023/24 team. And just by watching his overall play he hasn't improved (hasn't regressed either) as a player. In fact I felt like he was at his best in 17/18. But in that side he was just one of the players. He didn't stand out compared to Aguero, Silva, Kompany, Sane, Fernandinho & Sterling. But now he's clearly the best player City have got. It's evident that the individual quality of the team's massively dropped.

Those four alone at their peak would be enough to make both teams even in terms of quality. Don't forget, there was also Tevez and Dzeko

Lescott my might not be the most modern style CB but he had his strengths, he was absolutely incredible in the air and in duels.

Still far from what Pep had archieved, bro. And it is not disrespected to Macini, but Pep just simply the best. From liverpool's fan.

@micheleduritto did you watch the video he meant no disrespect he was apart of that team aswell he js saying Pep is better

He didn’t disrespect him. Pep is miles ahead of Mancini
Prime Yaya Toure would torment this current City side. Not to forget prime David Silva too
Exactly....at his peak, one the best Midfielders in city's history. Only KDB compares in terms of overall impact
What a great question and a great take from lescott. It’s an interesting point he raises
Shit take. Lescott doesn’t make the bench for the current City. Both coaches aren’t that far off in accolades
If 2012 players were so good why did they win the title by getting lucky against QPR?
If treble winning Man City were so great, why did they lose 1-0 to Brentford, or lose 2-0 to Southampton in the League Cup?
Even great teams have bad days.
Lescott wouldn’t play
Aguerooooo
More goals in the Mancini team, better defense in the current team
KDB and foden cant lace prime yaya and silva boots
2012 win even with Mancini. Aguero, Kompany, Yaya, Silva were all some of the best players the PL has ever seen
Haaland, KDB, Walker, Rodri are some of the best players the world has ever seen.
@@MrChipz900 and the 2012 players are better … which is his point

I agree
23 wins.
Lescott is nowhere near the level.
Lescott robbed a career. Awful player
KDB and Foden are nowhere as good as Silva and Yaya. Aguero >>>>> Haaland
He's on crack. Where does Pep go that doesn't already have the best players?
