The quality of the sound recording is astonishing as is the performance and the music!
Outstanding. Can't stop listening. His interpretation is the best. Sounds so different and unique. Well done!
It's me again, your favorite junkie, coming, for my regular dose. I want those baso continuo notes to kick my guts, and the right hand notes to drip on my nerves, soothing all anxiety. Bitter-sweet!
Thanks for your beautiful music!
Bravo! the best Purcell I've ever heard on piano.👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Fantastic interpretation , what an astonishing mastering of the articulation on the piano. Playing legato with the left hand whilst playing staccato with the right one and vice versa . You go to the center of the tone & sound ! You do honour to Purcell, great composer !
Love the energy, expression and articulation
and touch!
Quite lovely. A singing quality to the playing.
This is fastastic! Ive had goosebumps.
I turn every two or three days and listen to this several times. I cannot have enough of it.
I'd love to see the score of this transposition - it sounds better than any harpsichord or archlute, guitarrone, theorbo, you name it.
It's on the same par with the jazz transposition with Jarousky on another Purcell classic: music for a while.
I've heard many versions of this piece and your interpretation is leaps and bounds beyond the rest. Your phrasing and nuance is amazing. Honestly, you make this sound like a completely different song. I now find it difficult to listen to others playing this piece as your interpretation is so beautiful.
Ohhhhh what a unique piano work. Pure of magic. Beautiful work congrats
I've not heard this piece before in my life and I'm impressed, it's so different to what I expect from a Baroque composer. It's very jaunty
I got very disappointed when I was searching the partita and found out the original one is not like the one on video. This one seems an arrangement and it's a pity I can't find it anywhere
Nice performance! I think everybody loves the intro like me
Composition is very talkative 🙂 I love it
The best interpretation of my favourite baroque songs
it´s not a song but a piece a song have letter
love Love LOVE this interpretation! Thank you so much!
Bravo maestro.
This has to be the best interpretation of Ground in C minor on piano! Splendid articulation.
Check out the other Vadim - Vadym Kholodenko's version. I like it better.

This one is very playful and I dig it.
I insist on the Batagov’s interpretation to be the best one

The real composer of this piece is William Croft (modelling himself on a piece by Purcell). It would be wonderful if pianists would explore his keyboard music too!
Indeed, and would be nice if Croft would be indicated for this piece on CZcams. With all Purcell's masterpieces, it does not change anything to Purcell's glory to "lose" 1 ground (like Bach lost the attribution for some pieces) but add to make Croft a bit more "audible".
As far as I know, the main line (baso continuo and main theme) is written by Purcell, while the variations are by Croft. There's a lot of contradicting information on the net about this piece. I'd love to read some serious musicological / history of music clarification of the topic, elucidating editions, sources of confusions etc. etc.
Maybe @EarlyMusicSources can help?

Admirable!
you put the necessary light and smile! Greaat!!!!!!
sound technicians did an outstandind job here
Piano recorded this well is rare!
A piece of joy. What a joy even to hear it in this wonderful articulation. Absolutely brilliant!
Very good.
I see now where Micheal Nyman got inspiration creating "An Eye For Optical Theory". Thank you
What an ending! I did not know this piece. Thank you for letting me know about it! Warm greetings from Spain!
Excellent
This is the most beautiful playing I have ever heard, and I have heard quite a bit over the last fifty plus years.
Truly mesmerizing performance, thank you.
Omg! Just discovered You and I'm in awe! What a sound, phrasing! Brilliant 💎🌟
Wonderful music!
What if I say I want to kiss you? !!
You make funny expressions that made me fall in love playing this song Vadim. 💘😊
He feels the music exactly the way it should it felt. ♥♥♥
Great piece. Thank you
lovely smiley face :)
Thanks!
turning that figured base into a distinct, introductory and ending part, sounds almost like a jazz approach.... love your interpretation.
Also, having the courage to hurry it up a bit...
it's me again, to take my weekly dose of this realization (I understand that that's how renaissance players thought about the music, in relation to its score).😜
This is so good!
Super!
Wow bravo
Very pretty as always!
Nice harmony in bass
Adoro 🧡
🙏🙏🙏
Perfection
It's me again. I'd love to hear a rendition of Couperin ,Les Barricades Mysterious, in your interpretation.
Nice. The piece is not from Purcell but from William Croft, a contemporary.
Puro sentimiento
I am forever seeking the harpsichord version that is mellow. Hear it on the radio a lot. But this is truly lovely. Thank you.
😍😍
I really listening this feeling from this music what he wana translate to as.
An Eye For Optical Theory by Michael Nyman is probably the source of your ear worm while listening to this.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Best song I’ve ever heard Your totally a pianist Big Joyful GUY. 500 Bucks?
Where can I find the score for this lovely piece? The ones I have seen don't have that introduction.
I fear you will not find this in the scores, as far as I remember this was my own addition :)
I will have to transcribe it by hand🥴@@VadimChaimovich
A song like this proves how baroque took a lot of elements from Azerbaijan's Mugam music
Intro is picked up by Michel Nyman, but what song?
Michael Nyman, Drafthmans contract, any?
Ground in C minor, Z. D221 (William Croft, 1678-1727) is wrongly attributed to Henry Purcell, but they're different pieces. Croft based his ground on Purcell's (Z. T681) published as Éditions de Grounds (ca 1686).

Ground in C minor?
yes, usually presented to be from Henri Purcell, but most probably composed by William Croft.
The staccato is a brave option to take, it works - kudos to you good sir!

Shallow emotional content, but original.
Nintendo style
What nintendo games do you play?
you confuse style with ignorance
@@begonae.2566 LOL, and Mozart must probably be the name of the dog !

why do pianists have to keep doing unnecessary and inexplicable things to harpsichord music? just play some liszt and go
lol but nobody invited you here you stupid snob. Maybe you think that ignorance and lack of technique in your fatuous videos is art...
Why not ? Provided that the pianist tries to respect the english baroque style, and don't play it with excessive rubato, romantic tremolos, low tempo... reversely, Astor Piazzolla on harpsichord by Mario Raskin is beautiful !!!😂 And this ground from William Croft, I play it on a lute and rendering is nice...
@@jean-yvesPraxthanks to your rely i had to come back here and hear this smug, bippity boppity, staccatoed to death act of absolute cringe
