“Wayne,what made you take the Plymouth job”…..eeerm after my spell at Birmingham,literally nobody with an ounce of common sense wanted me so I didn’t have any other offers.
He was set up to fail at Birmingham ffs. They were sat in 5th place and sacked John Eustace. I guarantee you that the decision to sack Eustace and bring in Rooney purely because of his name left a sour taste in the mouths of not only the players, but the fans. They may not have played for Rooney, it was a recipe for disaster. I’m happy to have him here at Argyle. 💚

@@JayJope "Birmingham were in 5th place" it's like everyone forgets the volatility of the championship because it's Rooney, the championship table is not even worth taking seriously until January. Teams shoot up and down that table...at the time Birmingham were in 5th, PNE were 3rd and finished 10th, Sunderland were 4th and finished 16th. QPR were in 22nd and finished the season on the same points tally as Sunderland.
Let's also ignore that Birmingham had been narrowly avoiding relegation for several years, if anyone thinks John Eustace could have carried that team til the end of the season to achieve playoffs they're deluded. That Birmingham side got relegated because they lacked heart, they didn't show any all season until it was too late.
Let's hope Wayne doesn't think he's managing man City and can just play out from the back....
