Hello I love the walkway. I want to do the walkway the way yall did but I have a few questions? Will I have a problem with the walkway getting wet and maybe slipping if so how can I prevent this from happening, also whats a good way to keep the walkway level over time if I just have a ground base or could I use a cemented base and then use the stone mold for the walk way

Hi @tchrisp01 . Thanks for the comment. Glad you enjoyed the video. The concrete has a pretty good tooth on it so it won't be slippery when it rains. Also, the Quikrete Walkmaker is a self-leveling system so it will adjust itself to any dips in the ground. We actually have a video showing how to start it from scratch. You can check it out here: czcams.com/video/mQT7HeI-3hE/video.html . And we also did a Follow-Up video which was a Q&A from viewers like you. We think you'll find them very helpful. You can see that video here: czcams.com/video/B_KhPoNfRU4/video.html . And last but not least, we also did a redesign of Garden East, where we reused some of the forms that we had already poured. You can check it out here: czcams.com/video/aWTEBTSUNJA/video.html . All of these are helpful videos and if you're thinking of using the Walk Maker in your garden, you'll definitely want to check them out. Thanks for watching! Jackie and Dan

Hi guys, I've watched your videos on how to make that great stone walkway and I had a question I'd like to get your opinion on. I was thinking about using that same walkmaker mold for my home entrance walkway but instead of filling in each stone in the mold I was considering just pouring the cement down, troweling it smooth then pressing the mold into the cement about 1/2 inch to get the outline of the stones while keeping the cement in one slab, so to speak. I got this idea from watching concrete stamping videos. I think doing it this way will serve several purposes: one, it will be a lot faster to create the walkway, two, I won't need to spend extra money on that polymetric sand, and three, it will block any weed growth. I'd love to get your opinion on this and advice as to weather to use some sort of reinforcement like chicken wire in between the concrete for added strength and to prevent any cracking. I look forward to your response.

Hi @thestudygoon2799 . Thanks for the comment. I know exactly what you're talking about with a concrete stamp and I get this question alot. The whole purpose of the Walk Maker is that it's a simple DIY project, meaning it doesn't take that much ground prep or surface leveling. By using the template (Country Stone style), you're creating 9 individual stones that are very unlikely to crack under weight. If you decide to pour concrete, you're for all intensive purposes, creating a large slab of concrete. And even if you use chicken wire or rebar, unless you have a sub-base of crushed stone that is compacted and leveled, you're going to be getting cracks in that slab. I've seen people pour up to 4 inches of concrete without surface leveling and they start eventually start getting cracks. So, I hope this makes sense. So if you're asking for my opinion, I would tell you not to use it as a stamp for the above reasons and also because of the chances of you pushing it into the concrete at a consistent depth each time, is probably unlikely. If you've ever seen a concrete stamp, it's like a rubber mat with reliefs in it for the pattern that help keep a consistent depth.
Also, remember that there are different styles/patterns of the Walk Maker, if the Country Stone isn't the look for you. You can check out links in the description of this video. Best of luck on your project. Please feel free to reach out to us, if you have any other questions. Thanks for watching! Jackie and Dan
