yep, I have a 91 steal and a 72 steal locks. guess which one i prefer? the 72 keeps me much more disciplined and i get just as much steals on it anyways. for those who might say "well just play more disciplined on 91" to you I'll say at this point it's just wasted attributes that could have gone on other attributes like shooting or post control or passing

I don’t think high steal is really worth it, I have a couple of lock builds with high steal ratings and I get more on builds with a lower steal. I try to go for interceptor on silver because no steal is trash especially if people throw obvious passes
I feel like if your steal isn’t 85 or above it’s a waste. Like a 60 is good for a big man who can play the passing lane but other than that I think it’s a waste bcuz it’s so taxing. I feel like a 70 block is better than a 72 steal
block rating is amazing even if u dont get badges. I noticed major difference when I went from no block to like around 40-50 when it unlocked got new contesting animations and it was gamechanger. Steal is defo a rip off and absolutely agree about 85 and above or dont bother. I tried builds with 81 just for silver interceptor and the difference isn't worth the sacrifice ur making. I tried some with 72 for just bronze badges and I got the shittiest animations. And I realized bump steals can happen even on low steal, just gotta clamp up. I rather have high PD, Rebounding, ID, and block tbh.
last year when you ran double 6'9 same principles apply basically your left right until a rotation is called instead up or stay or take that just left right it one takes ball other takes slip don't over complicate it sometimes just see it instead of talking too soon ya feel me brother... that's how me and my lock play this year just double 6'8 instead
Tbh... u dont need steal perimeter maxed at 50 but i have it at 40. 84 strength silver anchor gold chase.. 6'9 sg is locking up every thing in 5v5. Only get abused by double screens cause people don't understand pnr defense. I always switch to the best perimeter offensive player on the other team. I have guards with high perimeter and steals and my 6'9 with the height and wingspan is better.. the only thing that i miss is the jamal murray behind the back but the harden is smooth
yeah true. Learning lower steal is great though I feel like 81-85 is the sweet spot if you wanna have other attributes up. My friend averages 1.1 steals in 3s with an 81 steal just snagging lane passes
@@DWhiteFan imo that’s not worth the investment. I play rec with a 25 steal but high perimeter D and get good steals by blitzing ball handlers. The amount of times I pushed people out of bounds because of clamps/immovable enforcer is more valuable imo

I have 56 perim D and 28 stl on my 6’3 floor spacing slasher and between his 88 speed and 65 strength along with my personal ability to snipe passing lanes and know when to on-ball, I have absolutely no problem guarding people. Only downside in hindsight is that I don’t have ankle braces badge or clamps. I avg 1.2 stl per game in 5’s and .8 stl in 3’s
Yeah, no. I have a 6’8 center that has high interior and perimeter defense: literally no steal at all and I still get at least 1-2 steals a game. It’s all about positioning. I don’t spam X I just play good defense
just stay in front of the player i hate people who be fingering square/X it makes you reach out the play. sometimes it can be good to have but you gotta be smart
you dont need steals to play good defense. steals are broken thats why people put them so high plus they dont know how to play defense and get stops so they relay of the broken thing to get the ball back
