I am considering the move to Palmdale and just yesterday I saw a new development with beautiful homes that are much larger and way better that what I currently own at double the price. At a certain age one need to re-examine what is of most value, a huge yard that I rarely use or larger home that I would enjoy. Thank you for the valuable info
Very good comprehensive look at Palmdale. I take Angeles Forest Hwy to Big Tujunga cyn to get o the East San Fernando Valley. Much better than the 14. Since being up here for almost 5 years I have noticed it is colder longer than it is hotter. I only use my AC units maybe 3 months out of year. I love being close to Tehachapi. One advantage of Palmdale is it is easier to get out of town than from LA. Another advantage are the unique pet food stores like A Better Way Pet store, and PNC. One disadvantage is low access to emergency vet care. You may have to drive to Santa Clarita late at night or on a Sunday. I live in Desert View Highlands which is an old area. I like that right around the corner are stores but then going the other way it is completely rural. I only plan to stay in Palmdale for another 2 years. I wanted to mention that Shogun, the best Japanese restaurant in the AV recently reopened. Their hours are a bit limited and they are totally traditional. No crazy sushi! varieties! Their salmon collar is amazing. They are next to Lee Esthers, a wonderful Creole restaurant. But you probably knew that already!! The Marie Kerr Pool is wonderful to swim at. Three parts of the Pacific Crest Trail are somewhat nearby- the Mill Creek area and then in Lake Hughes.
Thanks. There is a 24 hr emergence vet on Ave M and 10th near the freeway too if you ever need faster care, but I definitely wish there was more options. Ya I saw that Shogun just reopened, I was sad to hear about the owner passing.
@@goasknick9971 Yes the owner of the clinic lost his vet license and it stayed 24 hours for a while but not has limited hours. North Valley is open some nights and 911 Vet closes at 11 pm and is closed on Sundays
Hey nick just saw your video . We are thinking of moving either to lancaster or palmdale due to a new work opportunity. In need of an apartment for rent that allows a small dog under 25lbs any suggestions? Thinkin of moving by end of june into early july
there's a few condos/apartments near Palmdale Regional Medical Medical Center near the 14, not sure about pet friendly, but im sure they would allow with a fee as most places do
Don't be so dramatic. I live by the Lancaster prison and it's about as dry as the Bayou swaps of Orleans Parish. I work in Reseda Los Angeles so I will take Palmdale for 200 Alex.
@@Eugene-pt5lu ok so if you move to Lancaster, make sure you move to a million dollar two story house that is right next to a supermax prison or else you will have to deal with loads of crime
For those decrying the 'crime rate' in Palmdale: I would like to point out that the crime rate in the AV was significantly higher in the last century, into the turn of this century. Although there is still some crime to be found, it tends to be more localized in areas, instead of quite as widespread as down below in LA proper. Do your research and due diligence when picking a location (like you would anywhere) to make sure that it suits your needs and concerns. Honestly, I would be less concerned with the crime rate than the heat of the summer season, with it's subsequent high utilities usage. This means a darned near mandatory need for the extra expense of solar panels and/or small windmills (where allowed), even in the more urban sections of town.
Don't move the crime is bad, LA pretty much sent their section 8 applicants and it slowly became full of crime. This comment might seem bad but its what i saw happen over time and also not blaming all section 8 applicants
I brought 2011 the end of the housing bubble Rancho Vista & 30th west I paid 160k today same houses sale for 545k to 560k... Best move I ever made.
I’m the process of moving into an East Side home next to the 14 freeway 🙏🏻
Great presentation

Hello, i have a question,
If i buy an acre of land what is the current cost to build a two story house with 4 bedrooms and three bathrooms.
Hello Nick, are you still in Palmdale?

Don't move here, I assume you it is a crime riddled armpit of southern California. Also there is absolutely nothing to do here

Just move to the west side. Avoid the east side where the apartments are and section 8 people.
