Lady Alex, check out Independent Living Resource Centers. I know of one in SE Kansas that had a handicap bus but someone else beat me to it, buying a handicap bus I would like to have purchases. When I worked for SE KS Independent Resource Center, I did drive that bus taking consumers to a lot of places and it handled well and in good-operating condition. I am more likely to have someone do the conversion for me, someone who can truly build the electrical and plumbing up to safety standards better than I could, and people who know where to get products that work in these small buses and install them to stay and tolerate the vibrations that go with the bus moving. Also, check out state community assistance agencies. We have here in Girard, KS, SEACAP. Southeast Kansas Community Assistance. And yes, the one in Topeka is KNEACAP. Some churches might swing a deal for their handicap bus too if they are wanting to replace the one they have with a new one. Public auctions might have them but always-buyer beware. Have mechanical/rust issues examined before signing on the dotted line.
Great bus, and maybe more importantly, great tour. We really don't need to know where you keep every spoon or sweatshirt. I like seeing all sorts of van/bus life, but some of them get a little TOO in depth. If it was a build vid, sure, details. Anyway... George looks super comfy and easy to live in. Thanks!
Go to auctions on line. Like in Texas there is Lemons Auctioneer, and they handle the auctions for the schools, which is how I purchased a 2003 Thomas school bus with a wheelchair lift. Bought it Aug 2019, and I am feverishly working on it. 28' long bumper to bumper
*ONE OF THE BEST SKOOLIES I'VE EVER SEEN!!!* Looking for a small skoolie myself. Need wheelchair ramp or lift. If anyone sees something, please hit me up!!! 💖💖💖🤓🤓🤓💖💖💖

Great skoolie! I will be checking out their leather goods and sharing. Thanks! We are about halfway done with our bus conversion. Maybe not..seems there is always more to do, things we didn't know or think about. We are not so knowledgeable about the electrical wiring, we are also going to be using solar as much as possible and know nothing about buying yet or install, and last we are trying to figure out the plumbing for 2 sinks and the shower. We will be on the road by next April. We are 2 adults, 2 kids, and 2 dogs.
I just wish I could get my bus finished. I'm disabled and my family is dead set against me living in a Skoolie and traveling, they won't help me do anything. It's ok I don't have the money anyway.
Thank you for this midsize skoolie tour. This is a more practical size for me and harder to find this content on university youtube. For future videos I have a couple requests: What is the low and high MPG? After acquiring your new rig, how much $ is invested to make mechanically sound. I realize some folks may be sensitive to the latter so I get it if you don't wish to divulge such info. Thank you for your video.
Thanks for sharing your conversion! It's always inspiring to see how different people design their buses. I just have a question - What/where is that community of skoolies you showed an aerial view of towards the end? Or at least, where are most people going around parking skoolies in communities like this? I'm so invested in the idea of doing a conversion but I'm kind of concerned about not having "neighbors"at least some of the time - I feel the community for skoolies is mostly based on social media/online with occasional meet ups, but are there actual skoolie "neighborhoods" like this?
PLEASE! Can you tell me where you got your kitchen sink faucet? I'm using sillcock valves elsewhere in the bus and would love a faucet that features them as well. Gorgeous build, by the way :)
I bought a 2001 version of the same bus loving renovating I also have the same motor with 205k miles How is the motor holding up for you?Would love to know the bracket system used for the deck and solar
Hey so i got a big full size thomas flat nose me my girl and 1 y/o but it seems to be to much for us to move around what is the smallest bus size i could have with the basics? mid size maybe?
How do u find a good bus at decent price. Im disabled and looking for a schoolie. Every one i see is way too much. Was doing the van dwelling but van went down which was ok for now because my ex wife and her autistic son needed me to help take care of them. She is a stroke victim and he is highly autistic. Full time job. But there will be a time soon that they won't need me to help out. And i will be wanting to hit the road again. Really don't want to do the van thing. I need more room for me and my dog. As i said im disabled and need a bit more space. How much is a good price to pay for one like yours. I can do most of build maybe not the solar but the inside build i can probably do. Love you bus. ✌

I just don't see what the allure is to living in a bus. I guess now it it's being passed off as "trendy" and "cool" instead of what it's been known as for years as simply, the hobo life.
Is 79 the year you were born? If so, that may explain your inability to differentiate bus life from hobo life... Also, "trendy" and "cool" these days is shown by love and compassion for other people's passions and goals in life. What are your goals? What are your passions?
This is the size id go with for a skoolie, looks much easier to drive thru town ✌
Agreed 👍👌
Did I miss it somewhere.l. What size is this bus?
@@truthseekerofYHVH 26ft. 28with bike rack.
I love this build. But the idea of going to the restroom right next to someone doing the dishes is cracking me up 😂
I'm so glad he didn't upset the puppy :D
Yes. Puppy comfort =#1 priority.🥰🐶
Loved how Sam did his tour!😃👍
If you all come across any disabled people with skoolies, I would love to see that!!! Thanks! 💖

@Lumine Yes I'm aware.
There’s one if you search shuttle bus with recliner and full size shower (it’s also a walk in) umm it’s a red bus! I’ll get the link if I can

Ah that couch cushion blanket.. so familiar. Every hippie family had that. At least mine did

Very cool conversion! Well done Sam and Carley.
Great job everyone involved! Can't wait to see more... Viva la snacks!
Nice bus. We are almost finished with ours. Happy traveling to you guys 🎃
Great job and a cool home !!!
Not a single comment here about the pooper being RIGHT next to the sink?!?!
Aww this was so wholesome ❤❤
I thought I knew you from sommers! Regretless!!
searching now for our first skoolie buy :)

$4450 + an auctioneer fee, it's a Cummins diesel with 156K miles. Runs great, with an Allison automatic transmission, on a freightliner frame.
It is 28' long bumper to bumper.

Just love this bus and the video thanks so much looking forward to following your channel
Defo my style, love it
We are thinking of getting a bus next. We will be watching and researching for awhile great video

Thank you! More tours coming right at ya! 😉
Bus Life Adventure yeehaa! 😁
I'm so looking forward to joining the community!!!!
I just wish I could get my bus finished. I'm disabled and my family is dead set against me living in a Skoolie and traveling, they won't help me do anything. It's ok I don't have the money anyway.
No skoolie for me but def tiny homes maybe in wheels maybe not. 🤷
But I'm blind and have planned it out great and my family supports me in this.
Definitely do something. I'm disabled myself and I am currently looking for a van to make into a camper van.
Can't wait!!!

This is pretty close to what I'm looking for as well. Only difference is I need one with a wheelchair ramp/lift. Good luck to you in your search!
Didn't know there was a mid size....thinking THIS might be the ine
Most busses don’t need work after being bought because they were regularly maintained while in service
@@anonymouschange287 that's hopeful!!
Thats awesome i cant wait to meet some bus lifers. I am getting my bus in 2 weeks and starting my build
This video is so well done👌🏼👌🏼

Outstanding Build... And may the wind be upon your backs... #LiveLoveLearnRepeat 💯❤👍🏿🇺🇸🚲👀...
5 minute skoolie tour! #winning

It’s from ikea!

Hell ya legos for the win brother
What is the place called where all tiny home buses are in the desert the clip when he starts to warp up the tour please & thank you!
Nice!!!👠🚌👠
Nice build did i miss the shower ?
Was that a pool on top of 'Ol George???
I’m curious about that, too. I noticed on the overhead view, there was a square opening with water sloshing in it.
❤️
I will never understand why people don't put in showers.
You mean that headache!! He doesn't ever need to do tours. I'm sure it was a nice skoolie but you really couldn't tell. 🥴🤕🥴
We really like this layout. Do you have to be mechanically inclined to live this lifestyle?
Hey so i got a big full size thomas flat nose me my girl and 1 y/o but it seems to be to much for us to move around what is the smallest bus size i could have with the basics? mid size maybe?
Curious what the MPG is like with these?
How can i meet other bus lifers?
Hey bro, what make and hear is your bus
Wait!? Is that a tiny hot-tub on the roof (5:42)
The only thing that'd stop me from the bus life is that toilet. I'd explode before pooping in public 😓💥
What is the width of the bus?
what model bus is this
Please!!! No background music when people are speaking! It is distracting and sometimes drowns out the speaker!
What kind of dog is Watson

Your presentation lacks alot. You need to show the layout by not zeroing in on everything. I have no idea what you bus really looks like! !!!
Did not like the video, he was in such a hurry! 🤦🏻♀️👎
