How would you adjust the pressure on a Briggs and Stratton? Mines really low it seems
Real ones always explain the process
We are trying
â@@diydetailofficial all you needed to say is lower pressure more flow. Higher pressure less flow.
â@@liquidbrainstormlmao for real
@@diydetailofficialwhatâs the ideal PSI & GPM for car washing?
Real ones explain the process?? Yeah 'sometimes'.....
They start the clip by saying "1 little unknown fact about Pressure Washers,The Lower The Pressure "SOMETIMES" the better it is' lol
Thats The Reason for Having Different Quick-connects Nozzles & Fitments, All Pressure Washers come with some sort of wash Down Tip or Lance if not then do the Rinse Using The Water Source before it connects to the Power washer ie Outside Tap/Buffer Tank
The style is real with those shoes ! Great tip. More flow, Less psi is definitely the way I set my washer up đ
Thanks!
Those are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn by a mile
Puma SoftFoam+ I believe
Correct
What shoes? đđ
Those shoes are camouflaged
Whatâs even better than lowering the pressure is to have more volume of water. I pressure wash for a living and if we arenât trying to strip the whole top layer of concrete off we use more volume to move more stuff
Exactly
Didnt even see em
really depends how you lower the pressure, do you lower it by using a larger nozzle or by by turning the valve?
It's good to have high pressure for the wheel and undercarriage cleaning. If you want lower pressure in specific spots, just step back a bit.
Do this by opening your nozzle size up not opening your unloader valve please đ
Also weakens cladding adhesive by using too high p.s.i.
Very true
It weakens it either way, a garden hose is more than enough to properly and adequately clean behind the mouldings with the least amount of wear.
This man is just attempting to sound superior in knowledgeablility than others for whatever ego complex he has. He didn't explain the process or why, he just repeated the same things over again.
It's basic double sided tape underneath most exterior mouldings; most, not all. Some have double sided tape and plastic automotive clips, others just have the clips. In these cases, again... Just the extremely low pressure of a garden hose is more than adequate to get behind the mouldings. If rain water can penetrate, so can your garden hose. Either way, basic double sided tape is not the strongest material, in fact... It is extremely easy to tear and not recommended to have any pressure applied to it, especially on older, weather worn mouldings.
You don't really need a pressure washer to wash a vehicle at all. They just make the job faster, but you need to take mind in your pressures and locations of use. I would never recommend using a pressure washer on an engine bay as so many detailers do. Such a bad idea. Too many fragile rubbers, plastics and seals to accidentally and unknowingly damage. Engines are not just an analogue machine anymore and need to be handled with a modicum of care.
@@yomomma3570 yo it really ainât that serious
@@HoloScope it can be if you're a petrol head or have a classic/rare vehicle with hard to find parts
@@yomomma3570 What would you know about Pressure Washing? You havenât even been on CZcams a Year. What you want is 1. High Volume, _Heated_ Pressure Washer 2. High Quality Chemicals - Soaps/Degreasers/Iron Deposit Remover/Tar & Sap Remover 3. Foam Cannon + Undercarriage Attachments + Brushes/Wash Mit/Clay Towel + Two Buckets with Grit Guards (One for Body, One for Wheels) 3. Filtered Water for the final Rinse + Quality Microfibre Drying Towels. 4. After Wash + Tire Dressing (+ Ceramic Coating)
For car washing gpm is far more important than psi. Gpm, Gallons per minute, will help rinse/rise and loose dirt/debris. Psi, pounds per square inch, is less important because the damage it could cause as well as affect the water pattern as explained in the video. A good psi is around ~1700 and preferably anything with 1.7-2.0+ gpm. Thereâs amazing videos on the here that can help you find products/attachments to upgrade your pressure washer to perform its best for car specific needs, just look them up đđœ
Thank you
My best 40° nozzles get me 700-1500 at about 2gpm on a Greenworks 2700
I usually wait for it to start raining then go 100mph+ on the highway works just as good
Definitely more fun
đ
High volume is the best way to get the chunks. Pressure is what cleans it.
Good analogy
@@diydetailofficial I work on heavy equipment and when we wash them it is best to use a fire hose to get them âwashedâ then get the little spots and grease with steam pressure.
Excellent
I love this guy, he cleans his truck INSIDE his garage â
I donât like being cold
I m try that. Got to love Ivanâs tips!
So true! I also totally agree with another point you make which is: a power washer pre-rinse (water only) can actually SCRATCH your paint! Pre-wash with an APC and/or snow foam will encapsulate the dirt and help safely rinse it off!
Great point!
That's an EXCELLENT tip! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
100% correct, Yvan. Time is the key
Thank you.
Just found ar blue clean. Looking for a replacement and this is exactly how it's works for certain things. The 2300 with 2.75 nozzle brings it down to around 1500 3.5 nozzle to about 900 and I'll still have the original nozzles for the full 2300 on my driveway.
Good choice
Gpm's is where it's at, volume over pressure
Yes.
Great tip,thankyou
Glad it was helpful!
Sometimes I use a snowjoe cordless power washer (300psi) to remove loose contaminants before rinseless wash and it works just fine. It's great that I can actually spray rinseless wash solution instesd of just water so it also replaces a trigger sprayer/handheld foam sprayer for pre-soaking panels
Great tip!
Lol the car wash in my neighborhood one of the hoses has insane pressure I found out the hard way by blowing my whole side trim off along with like a 2 foot spot of paint it was insane.
They had it turned up to 11?
I really hate it when dirt/grime hides under those trim, especially the roof. Nice to know, then best to use the soap dispenser tip to get the lowest pressure
Thanks for your comment!
Tip: If you lower the pressure to 8 psi, it gives the water even more time to penetrate deeper into the crevices.
Good
this is very true. how i think about it is the higher the pressure, youre more so slicing into the dirt but not breaking it. the higher gpm the moee youre submerging the dirt from the inside which will break it up easier
Thank you.
And high pressure peels molding right off. Had older car that had old original pun stripe that had hardened started peeling, high pressure washer removed it eady peasy, then wd40 took any sticky residue right off. So remember high-pressure if it hits paint chip can also blow paint.off once water gets under paint
Correct
High pressure can damage the vehicle always be careful
Agreed
That's super true and it really makes a big difference I do work on a car wash ,and that's a really bad problem
Thank you.
You don't want to lower the pressure that much...
Just get a pressure washer with higher flow
There are many options, that what makes detailing fun.
Amazing that this needs to be explained
Not everyone has experience with a pressure washer.
Also high pressure while dirt in large amount, will act as a sandblaster and scratch the paint.
Exactly
It's never about the psi, it's about the gallons per minute. 2.5 and up is fantastic.
Excellent
This actually makes a lot of sense
thank you
Thanks for the tip
Any time
It works with a bidet also. On those muddy

Thought dude was all ankles til I realized his shoes red
They blend into the floor
An interesting fact is this applies to the gutters on your house as well. One reason so many gutters get clogged is because the guttering is at too much of a pitch. The water drains so fast it skips over the dirt and leaves instead of pushing it down the drain.
True?
If the leaf is sitting in deep water it'll get pushed through. Perfect world doesn't always happen though. Light rain doesn't help.
Is that a Tahoe with wagoner wheels?
Dodge Ram wheels actually.
I usually let the pressure washer take the molding and trim off
It makes cleaning easier without them đ
đ
Absolutely RIGHT đ
Thank you
Itâs funny how counterintuitive some things seem u til you have first hand experience. This is true from basics up to very complex chemsitry
Exactly.
I find that using my garden hose to wash my car does the job better or probably because the pressure comibg from my tap is strong. I use my pressure washer nowadays for snowfoam but rinse the car with the garden hosem đ
Exactly
Absolutely right â ïž

Domestic ones are about 140 bar so use the low adjust to get the lower pressure.

sometimes lower pressure is better because i always put holes in my car but if you make it lower the water actually isn't moving that fast

Shoot it at the seam. Do some tests because I pet high pressure gets in there too at the right angle.
Thank you
This man got drip with those shoesđ

Youâre not aware that drip is an std are you? đ
i think with such high pressure, the water keeps flooding the cracks so quickly that nothing can come out, also the high pressure shoves the dirt deeper in the cracks
Nice way of looking at it.
Very true

Lol
Where i live and in Any Surrounding Areas this is called "Rinsing Down" were the Water Flow changes to Help Get The Dirty Water & Soap Off The Vehicle PLUS you shouldnt be waiting to The End of washing The Vehicle to Do this.........most of The Dirt, Mud and Grime should have been Taken Off During The Pre-Wash at The Start Of Washing Your Vehicle
If Not,Then there definitely shouldnt be Any After Youve #Sponges & Hoses,Snowfoamed or TFR!!
I would Take Gallons + litres per Minute over PSI everyday of the week,Its A No Brainer!

When he said "low pressure" then threw 500psi at me, I was stunnedđ
thats low pressure for pressure washers. its common for pressure washers to have 2175 to 2900 psi
500 psi is very low
@@diydetailofficial yeah I'm not that well-versed in the pressure washing world. I thought 500psi was a lot until another commenter said 2,700psi and I almost shat

He makes sense... Think about it the other way, when we throw a rock on river water in slow speed it sinks.... But if we throw it with high speed it bounce
Exactly!
Take your pressure washer tip off to allow low flow of water
Sometimes thatâs not enough.
Sweet so if I just dip my entire car into a lake overnight it should come out clean as a whistle..no pressure required. Pours on my paver patio all the time. Still need pressure washer
Your interior may not fare as well. There is a difference between low PSI and no psi.
Just got a pressure washer. 3250psi i think. I want the pump to last. Thanks for the tips. Ive heard the stories where people found paint adhesion problems with white Toyotas. I guess ill find out if there's loose paint...đ
You don't need that kind of PSI for washing cars. Just use common sense and have fun:)
@@diydetailofficial I'll test it on some invasive species first. Be gone, chupacabra!
Similar to what we call soft washing in my industry. Higher flow vs PSI. I run 8 gallons per minute.
Excellent
The lower the pressure, the greater the water.
6 times the water
Correct
Gpm means more than psi to an extent anyway but I'd rather have a pressure washer with 900psi 2+ gpm with a 40degreee tip
Excellent
What pressure washer gun do you guys use?
I believe thatâs a velocy
It also peels the doubled sided adhesive just saying
Yes it does.
Tu for teaching me something new
Thank you for your comment.
itâs pressure vs volume. if you have a thicker stream it floods out more
Excellent
High pressure it is
Thanks
Thereâs no real wrong way to do it.
Oh wow. Another genius on youtube. Wow thanks now I know how to clean my car.
Thanks for watching!
And better on the paint to not damage it.
Yes
Them sneakers blend in as it should
Thank you
With that logic, it should be apparent that pressure should force the water in the crevices with a better flow to carry out the dirt.
Unfortunately pressure in tight places isnât alway effective.
Pressure vs volume balance
True
Can anyone tell me what model SUV is that? Thanks
Chevy Tahoe
Higher pressure. Lower volume
Lower volume reduces cleaning ability when paired with high pressure.
So with that logic, is my garden hose is perfectly fine?
Nothing wrong with a garden hose. A pressure washer is a time saving and water conservation tool, itâs not essential.
100% waffling
Thanks
Volume is also a big deal, I worked washing semis for a while and all our guns were low pressure high volume, much more effective on mud and road grime
Excellent
You can tell this is real cause he explained why. Everyone else would of just cut the video short
Thank you
I use a garden hose
Good
Is that the mtm hydro special? I've been stuck on which model to go with
Canât recall the exact specs off hand but it is MTM
I can totally understand what he meant
Thank you
Imagine being a grown man, having lived a life full of potential, explaining how water works.
Imagine having never used a pressure washer before, many have never had one.
High pressure simply creates to "small" of a water droplet. Too much atomization if you will. Less pressure has a more direct impact with a larger droplet/volume.
True
đđđ
Man I hated washing my suburban and seeing dirt leak from the moldings where was you years ago
Itâs a real issue with these
Does anyone know how to raise the water pressure on a Briggs and Stratton? I just replaced the unloader manifold on one and it doesnât seem to have much pressure. Itâll get dirt off of concrete if I hold it real close but seems weak. Itâs a new nozzle and hose. Pretty sure I put it together right.
Unfortunately not.
This was shot on valentine's day.
No
Really shouldn't be using high pressure power washers on automotive finishes in the 1st place.
Please explain why?
Yes cause there is no professional detailer that uses a hose. A pressure washer is the way to go just be smart. Don't spary your car with 3500psi I'd never go over 1100psi. It's perfectly safe to use a pressure washer.
Can 600 psi water pressure be used to start a detailing business?
Yes, a pressure washer isnât a requirement
Also safer on the paint/clear coat.
Yes
This. Thanks chief.
2000psi and 1.1-1.2gpm itâs good to wash an auto ?
Yes, thatâs great.
The double sided tape on those moldings shouldnât let dirt get in there
Itâs not alway on the edge of the molding.
It's called volume over pressure
Yes
