The Dells and the Dramatics need to be given more respect and acknowledgement. The instruments played by the band and the vocals is amazing. The best group that ever existed in the music business. ❤❤❤
@Noco235 Motown was a huge success. The acts from other production teams like Gamble and Huff, Solar, STAX, etc.. were not given the same respect due to their music not crossing over to pop culture.
Here in 2017, Congratulations on receiving the Life Time Achievement Award from President Obama, the Dells are, were, and always will be MIGHTY!!! LUV, LUV.

" The Love We Had" is probably one of the greatest songs ever about lost love. The balance between baritone and tenor is flawless. If you weren't around to hear music in the 60's and 70's you really missed a great era of music. Even now looking back it brings such happy memories. These singers really knew how to make you feel what they were singing about. And they really gave us a performance, singing and the dance steps and the harmonizing was amazing. I miss this so much in today's music. But thanks for the memories.
Marvin was the man... He give birth to David Ruffin, Teddy Pendergrass, Johnny Gill and myself......May he rest in peace. Thanks for sharing your gifts.
I would say though the original version of "O what a night" predates David Ruffin with the Temptations, I would consider them contemporaries with Ruffin being the much bigger star in the sixties.
Stuart Perry Ruffin was the bigger star because he had the Motown machine behind him. You give Marvin that machine and the tempts would have been just as good if not better. Marvin Junior never got his just due.

They are definitely GREAT🔥vocals beyond on point. Give them their credits/flowers…… plus in my humble opinion we have been blessed with a group in 2021-22 that also can “blow, dance , band is a killer, musicians vibing while playing instruments and a lead singer that can set a high range, vocals or any cord on Sweet Fire..I’m grateful we are here to see and hear both according to our preferences 💯💫👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🔥

this is so sad. I didn't know marvin had passed. it is like losing a family member, a loved one. the beautiful voice, the playful nature, truly irreplaceable. my deepest condolences to his friends and family.
these songs, the words in these songs, the feeling that the man put behind the words in these songs. now, that's how a man and women stayed together/married for 40, 50, 60 years. have mercy. you can't keep a woman singing "back that thing up". well, maybe you can, but she won't be worth keeping.

There's no one nowadays that can hold a candle to the Mighty Mighty Dells!🎶 🎤🎶🙏
They are definitely GREAT🔥vocals beyond on point. Give them their credits/flowers…… plus in my humble opinion we have been blessed with a group in 2021-22 that also can “blow, dance , band is a killer, musicians vibing while playing instruments and a lead singer that can set a high range, vocals or any cord on Sweet Fire..I’m grateful we are here to see and hear both according to our preferences 💯💫👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🔥
@@shavonnie2106 Foh... You must be mad!!!! No group out now can hold a candle up nor next to them.... And that's Black or White band!!!!

I love the Dells! Sorry we lost Marvin Jr. I'm just finding this out. By going to Google. RIP Marvin Jr.
The pioneers the O’Jays are my favourite soul group but the Dells were one of the greatest to ever did it they inspire the likes of the O’Jays, Whispers and many others.
R I P Marvin. What a voice!!
One of the best singers ever!
this is so sad. I didn't know marvin had passed. it is like losing a family member, a loved one. the beautiful voice, the playful nature, truly irreplaceable. my deepest condolences to his friends and family.
The amazing thing is the fact that they are really singing.
Bac ( in'da ) day, that's what music was bout, " singing " ya' azz'off...
these songs, the words in these songs, the feeling that the man put behind the words in these songs. now, that's how a man and women stayed together/married for 40, 50, 60 years. have mercy.
you can't keep a woman singing "back that thing up". well, maybe you can, but she won't be worth keeping.
The greatest voices ever!!! Long live the music of the Fabulous Dells.
BEST RANGE OF VOCALS EVER!!!!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥that’s classic soul!!!!
The Love We Had Stays On My Mind is pure vocal perfection. Incredibly beautiful harmonies and tonalities that nobody these days could ever match.
Right ON😮!
You are right …..not even Bruno Mars can match their creativity
Right on love it
I’m listening, can’t believe what I’m hearing . No doubt these men were absolutely great and underrated. I can’t believe they were not in my favorites for every year that I’ve lived. WOW!
