This is a collection of performances all featuring Herbie and Tony collaborating with Carlos Santana during the July 1981 Japanese jazz festival, Live Under the Sky. This video was recently uploaded without the presence of the Herbie Hancock composition, "Saturday Night." That oversight has been corrected and now this video contains ALL of the clips from LUTS 1981 featuring these musicians that...

Sorry but Santana is not a jazz guy....
100% authentic talent ❤
Year 2024. This is 52 yrs old.. . Still Timeless and I am still in love.❤️
He is drums
Wit dem Bally’s on! 😅
When u just want to die for a woman is unbelievably beautiful, when u miss a woman to this effect is a different level! R.I.P. Teddy this music is unparalleled, unmatched and will never ever be duplicated! The 80s was beautiful the 90s had great singles but the 70s singers will live forever! We must keep this alive bc in 2024 this generation will never understand!
I love listening to this music ❤
29:30
Wow the sound quality and mix is really..........something.
What kind of whistle does the percussionist is using at 2:39 together with flex-a-tone?
Soooo sweeet
One of the greatest drummers of all time.
Great with some Latin sound to jazz and Santana is a very able guitarist who knows how to add quality with a percussion that gives him great backup
I’m looking at George Clinton but I see ODB
They are the best all time group
Always together 😮
Best intro ever
Is this an iteration of Lifetime?
No, Getz led gig.
Old school oldies but goodies
I cannot explain in words, just soooooo coooool!
Them boys was jamming
I never got how Santana played with this level of musicians. Same licks every solo with variations and absolutely zero jazz vocabulary, That said, I saw him in 1972 for the first time and have always loved his bands, music etc . Just not a fan in this context , Scofield would have fit the bill
The best video testimony that exist of Parliaments evolving into Funkadelic and the P-Funk conglomeration, the great tag team of many vocalists plus the band of peerless musicians supporting them, respectively, plus George on top leading everything. Some of the performances here excel the officially released versions. Very exciting to see in person all the components players in this great band in creative soulful interchange. This is an archival gem.
Well.this is a pleasant surprise .!so I'm assuming this is Miles Davis' wake sts .
Question for any drummers out there would have been a faux pas for him to put a little tape on those heads
thank you
Wynton is a wee baby here playing with a band of established legends. And as I look at the close-ups, I realize how much his chops look like clark Terry’s. And if anyone ever had a perfect set up, it was Clark Terry. And Wynton is so mature beyond his years here musically. People argue about some of the choices he’s made along the way, but he’s done what he wanted to do. Don’t we all wish we could do even that.
Amazing!!!👍👍👍
It's sad that alot of people especially Blacks never got the point or listening to their lyrics. They just got high off their music.
That is Harold Melvin not Teddy pendergrass😢
I love love it
I love it
They need to have a movie
Serching finding que rico suena esta pieza el jazz es de lujo ❤
I hope i'm allowed to comment as a 55 year old white bloke in England that i love this, one of the best uploads to CZcams love it.
funkadelic - WOW
Man dr funkenstien is on one or something or both lol this is amazing!
Oh man he did it so dirty in the 89 jersey clip. I remember another clinic with a white kit and the camera is far away where he us godlike as well.
A privilege to share this planet with these artists. ❤
Definotely a doferent drummer
Jabo is the main drummer, so who the hell is the second kat?? The dude was COOKIN when James brought him in on Sex Machine! I dont think its Frankie Waddy from Phelps and Bootsy's band is it??
If you ever experienced this live, you felt the very floor vibrating.
Glide, dip, glide dip, I got onstage in 1972.
Dr. J of drums
I'm sorry, but I don't get all the fuse???? Tony's okay, but great.....I don't know??????
R I p , you are missed,
1:47:55 They figuratively jumped off of a cliff in extremely dense fog , in the middle of the night, without parachutes. AND THEY LANDED …….TOGETHER!!!!!! Boy, was that passage thrilling!!!
Didn't they make sitting in the park if so why didn't they sing it 😢 don't get me wrong I love every song ❤
These guys were absolutely phenomenal, and very underrated. However, when it comes to lead singers, and especially vocal range, not to mention showmanship, David Ruffin, in my opinion, is incomparable.
The homie found a good time to get some shine but George pulled him away 😂 11:05
What’s the name of this song? 6:37
