I had literally just left the world trade center 10 minutes before the first plane hit. This is too important an event in history to just keep quiet and put aside. We all need to get together now like we did then. This American thanks you for keeping it real and for your honest feelings about it all.

Joined the US Military at 2:00 pm on 9/11/2001. Had to drop out of college and do something that was important to me. I had to fight. Still haven't forgotten that day. Never will.
We will never forget. My cousin was the First Class Flight attendant on AA flight 11 that tried to stop the terrorists from getting into the cockpit. She was a Hero!! We Love you and miss you everyday Barbara Arestiguii, lovingly known as Bobbi. You will never be forgotten for your sacrifice, you will always be our Hero.

Ronnie I couldn't agree more as so many Countries lost people that day, which is why 9/11 can and should be emotional to everyone. That day also showed how we can put aside our petty differences and just be there for those who were hurting and stranded. Here in Canada as well as other places we were overrun with aircraft's and passenger's. We did our best to house and care for them, just like the Americans did for the citizens of Canada and other Countries who were stuck in the US when the airspace was shut down.
I'm not an emotional guy. I rarely show any emotion. It's even more rare that I actually tear up or cry. However, this song makes my tear ducts leak every time I hear it.

Sadly, too many have forgotten.
I’m lucky to have not lost anyone that day. My dad’s fire station was just outside the city helping with rescue. I will never forget what happened that day even though I was only 8 when it happened
I was 21, and in Las Vegas for a convention for college, I lost my Great Aunt that day, she was on the 82nd floor of tower 2, I'll never forget

I was in 7th grade watched the coverage all day, enlisted at 18 and did 12 years, my son is 5 when he gets a little older he will watch all the 9/11 coverage with me every year. he WILL NEVER FORGET
Quite a number of British people also died in the Towers. The Queen’s gesture of allowing the Star Spangled Banner to be played at the time, and again a few days ago, is MUCH appreciated.
I am from Nova Scotia Canada. I remember all of use going to the airport that day asking people if they had a place to stay. All the planes were diverted here and people were lost what to do. They came and stayed with us and our families. We took them in for free until the skies opened again.

My then mother-in-law was in the Pentagon that day. She lost 40 friends in the attack. We didn't hear that she was safe till around 8pm that night. It was a. VERY hard day.
I haven't forgotten and never will. What struck me that day is running into work and not hearing the sound of ANY aircraft in the air and people staying home out of fear. It was an eerily quiet day. One other thing is seeing a German war ship with the crew holding a huge sign that read "WERE WITH YOU!" That was impressive.

Unfortunately, I think many HAVE forgotten.. I was in the 8th grade that day, and I remember going from class to class being glued to the TV's. Scared, confused.. and pissed! Bless the first responders, lost lives, those left behind, and the HEROES on flight 93. Great reaction Gitana! 👍

Gitana, I know you react primarily to music, but you mentioned about how from “a Brit’s perspective” it looked like the US was never a more tight-knit country. If you want to see and react to a “feel good” story (as good as a feel good story can be about 9/11) - please react to “Boat Lift”. It’s about 10 mins long but it will choke you up with so much pride about people coming together to help those that were trying to get out of lower Manhattan that day after the attacks.

Gitana, I absolutely agree with everything you said! I remember where I was. I worked for the plaintiff’s law firm. We ended up filing the 9/11 litigation suing the terrorists. One of our cocounsel that I dealt with on a fairly Weekly basis had an office in the north tower. He was a little old Jewish man who was always the first one to get there in the morning and the last to leave. He was quite proud of the fact that he had never been late for work a day in his life. On 9/11, he was late for work. Several people in his office were killed. A couple of weeks before, we were scheduled for a document production at the World Trade Center, but it got canceled and I didn’t get to go. I can’t believe it’s been 20 years. I may not think about 9/11 every day, but I think of it often. I do remember the unity that this country had after 9/11. people pulled together. A number of country artist put out songs in support of our troops overseas. Many musical talents went overseas to perform for our troops. We had a lot of music come out in support of our military. Somehow, we’ve lost that unity that we once had. One of the reasons why I love this song by Darryl Worley it’s because every word if it’s true. We need to show it every day. We need to make sure that people don’t forget. As soon as we let our guard down, it could happen again.
I live in Charleston, South Carolina. One of our local musical artist sat down and wrote a song about 9/11. Local radio stations played it and I believe it even went up into other states on the East Coast. It’s an awesome song! The name of the artist is Eddie Bush. I was in an old folks home of veterans. Everyone was watching what was going on on TV. Some of the guys spun off into PTSD, some were outraged, all of them recognized the fact that it was a successful attack on the home turf. Tough day. I think we will have more tough days ahead now. Thanks for featuring him.
Five days before my birthday, I was pulling duty in my squadron office at Camp Lejeune, NC. I remember the entire base going nuts. I stood up and turned to the TV. The flashing images literally knocked me back into my chair. Just as you said, I had never seen all the Americans so united as we were in the minutes following the attack and the next day. Now, 20 years later, I have never seen us more divided. Lately, I've seen more patriotism and respect for America from other countries than I've seen in my own back yard.
One of my favorites i had the chance to see him perform in concert and he sang this song with just as much passion 10 plus years later as he did when recording it. My husband served 3 tours in Iraq and Afghanistan to stand up for what we believe in. I'm so proud of him. I am heartbroken for those loss I watched the coverage as those towers fell and cried trying to explain to my 4yr old what was happening 😢 💔 R.I.P TO ALL WE LOST IN THAT TRAGEDY 💔 😢 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

A few years ago I had the opportunity to be interviewed by the Washington Post due to my interactions with Sen Rubio at a Town Hall event. I spoke to the reporter about National unity & choked back tears as I said that I long for the unity of September 12th, 2001. That I am wholly disgusted that I long for the unity we had after the most deadly attack on American soil.
I'm Canadian, that day is still burned in my brain. As skies went quiet everywhere else, Newfoundland became a major stop for international flights. St. John's and Gander International airports was the parking lot so many planes. People found themselves in a province that most people had never heard if. There were books written (The Day The World Came To Town), movies made (You Are Here: A Come From Away Story), a whole Broadway prodiction (Come From Away) done about it. We commemorate it every year. We don't forget. So many lives lost. So many lived flipped upside-down. DO NOT APOLOGIZE for your feelings. Everyone should remember.

my dad was only about 3 miles away from whre flight 93 crashed as he was visiting people in a nursing home , cuz he was a minister, couldnt get in touch with folks for along time. I also was on call wioth my ambulance crew from Pa to go help at ground zero in Ny , but we were not called in to volunteer, yes we still need to teach the youth today that were not born yet or were just little ones , what happened that day and what we needed to do to go to war and find those responsible ......thank you for doing this wonderful song from Darryl Worley
I was in Texas getting in my work truck when before I closed the door the report of the first plane came over the radio. Everyone getting ready to leave the yard immediately shut down their trucks and ran inside to find a tv. I served in the Army in the late 80's and was discharged for a medical issue. At that moment when the second plane hit I knew immediately what my brothers in arms were about to face. The emotions went from disbelief to anger to what can I do to help. My wife and I spent yesterday watching ceremonies and recounting the cost of that day 20 yrs ago. I miss my buddies who died fighting for our freedom and I am still angry but for a different reason. I'm 52 now and over the last 20 years I've realized the futility of anger unless you can channel it for something positive. Thank you for this reaction and by all means you have every right to feel however you want about 9/11. It happened in America but it was a clarion to the free world that evil came calling. We will never forget and always be vigilant. The reaction you did a couple of days ago to God we need you now was so appropriate. Thank you Gitana.
I was in 6th grade. We had been taking standardized tests all morning, and we had just gotten back from our music class. Our teacher set us down and said we are not doing anything the rest of the day, and she turned on the TV. We watched the news the rest of the day. It really touched our class, because one of my classmates and their family had just gotten back in town from New York the week before. They had been in the world trade centers during their trip. We live in Indiana. Something tragic in New York resonated loudly with our small class. I never want another 9/11, but I miss the America of 9/12/2001.

As an American I was extremely proud and humbled by the love and support from all over the world. Our friends and allies grieved with us. Many of us here in America have NOT forgotten. I also have my children watch the documentary every year. I was pregnant with my first at the time. She is 20 now. I have 5 now, and even the young one has watched it since birth. I won’t let any of them forget!
Thank you for this song today. I remember everything about that day. My partners uncle was a NYFD Captain at Ground Zero. And you are so correct. We have never been so UNITED as a country as we were in the time following that day. What happened to us? It would seem to many actually have forgotten. I was in my 2nd week of basic training when 9/11 happened. Our training ramped up and was deployed to the pentagon, Afghanistan, Iraq and served in South Korea. I was badly wounded in Iraq, so much that I did die. I'm a purple heart veteran. I loved when he came to Afghanistan to see us.
He also has other great songs as in I just came back from a war and pow369, I miss my friend.
And if you really want to loose it, listen to the 4+ hr long dispatch tapes from 9/11. It will leave you sobbing!!!

I am a wife to a soldier at that time I was a mom to a three year old and I was 3mo pregnant with our daughter. I remember distinctly thinking, when will my husband deploy, and what kind of world will my children live in now. These last 20yrs my husband has been deployed for over 15 of them. It’s not been easy, my kids have had to suffer deployment after deployment, however my kids KNOW WHY. My kids have had to attend WAY TO MANY FUNERALS. We’ve lost way to many friends in the last 20yrs. Their sacrifices we’re not for nothing. Our President may have surrendered, but the American People HAVE NOT! There are civilian soldiers who are actively working today, to evacuate green card holders and their families our. Their are soldiers still trying, to convince the afghan men, NOT BEAT THEIR WIVES AND DAUGHTERS! Our men/women have suffered greatly just from that one issues alone. They see a woman getting a beating and BY LAW, they can not intervene. Can you imagine what that does to a man’s/women’s psyche?!
I look around today, and I don’t recognize this country anymore. People are so filled with hate, jealousy, envy, and everyone is all about Themselves. I find it disgusting. This post 9/11 generation, is soft. They are self centered. They are self serving. That’s our fault. We the parents have failed miserably. We’ve tried to compensate and here we are. Moms and dads need to step up and deal with their kids.
I liken What happened after 9/11 to us here in the US rising together. We stood shoulder to shoulder with each other. We are one big messy dysfunctional family. I’m allowed to call my brothers and sisters idiots, but if anyone else’s does it, we’ll I’ll kick your ass! That’s what we saw. We saw everyone standing and willing to kick the ass of those who DARED to hurt our brothers or sisters. We’ve lost that these days. Our kids minds have been warped. They have been indoctrinated by CRAZY people. If just finally starting to turn here. We’re finally starting to see moms and dads fighting back! We’ll get there. We’ll reunite.

I have not forgotten, I remember where I was the day and time and place I was. It was 8:00 AM CST here in Missouri, the 8:00 AM bell had just rang for school, as I sat down in my desk, a couple of minutes later, the intercom system went off and the principal alerted all teachers and staff to turn the TV's onto Channel One and I couldn't believe my eyes, I couldn't believe this was real. I didn't know the death toll at the time, but it hits me every year. I pray to the families who lost a loved one that tragic day and may they receive strength, love, guidance and whatever they have to carry on. You're so right, we do live in a different culture now and even I would show the tragic day everyday if it was up to me. I never seen you're videos before and I thank you for this video you did. I am always sad on this day, my son was only 7 months old and I was former military and was so worried about a son I brought into this. Now I have as much anger as ever but an intense disgust with what is now our administration. Please pray for the USA, we are trying.

I was due to retire on Sept. 12th, from a 24 year career in the US Navy. I was a Commander at the time. I knew there was no way I was retiring then. I had been deployed in Desert Storm and I was deployed once again in the 2nd Gulf War. I served 6 more years, retiring after 30 years. Thank you, a citizen of the UK caring about we Americans at a time when we really needed it.

We were stationed at the Army post on Oahu, Hawaii, in the middle of the Pacific Ocean on 9/11. Husband was an Army aviator. We managed 3 deployments ; 2005, 2010, 2013. This song (and Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue by Toby Keith), became sort of an anthem. As the years went on many people moved on. But each time my child and I had to to say goodbye to my Husband for months at a time, we understood why. And stood by him. And his unit. And their families.

This song is so meaningful today, I can't tell you how many veterans I have heard say that everything they served was a waste because of what is going on right now.
On 9/11/01, I was a newly married 22 year old PFC serving as Airborne Infantryman in the 82nd Airborne. We were conducting training for our Expert Infantry Badges when some of the guys with pagers starting getting information about the attacks. Roughly around noon that day the entire Brigade was called back to our assembly area so we could March back to our respective company areas. While waiting for our senior NCO’s to take charge, I distinctly remember our Brigade Sergeant Major, along with a number of company First Sergeants sayin “Next week, CIB (Combat Infantryman Badge) in Afghanistan!” I don’t know why I remember that, but I do. My unit was on a 2 hour recall status, ready to deploy within 18 hours. After getting back to our company we were told to check our packing list and deployment gear, we turned in our ID Cards so our Ops personnel could make copies to prepare for a deployment. We all anxiously awaited the word, we had our weapons already, our rucksacks and duffel bags were packed. We were ready to go. I made a phone call to my wife from the barracks to tell her I loved her, and I would keep in touch to the best of my ability. We were sent home that evening around 6pm. I just remember sitting glued to the tv in a friends barracks room. I remember tears streaming down my face, for the loss of so many Americans, for the sorrow of the families. We accomplished the mission of taking out the mastermind of this attack. We got him. He was fish food. God Bless Us, every freedom loving HUMAN in the world. Stand against tyranny, stand for freedom. I love you all, and it was an honor to serve the United States of America as an American Soldier, a Paratrooper.

I was working as a civilian for the US Army that day. I worked at a medical research unit in the District of Columbia, but not near the Pentagon. After the chaos of getting home, I found several messages on my phone from friends and family who knew I worked in DC and were worried about me.
I also remember that the response of our medical researchers was to tell the command that a medical response was needed and they were prepared to help.
It may not be your country, but you are our British cousins and you share the same values. The UK has been one of our most valued allies for some time now. Many Brits were in the Twin Towers that day.
Thank you for doing this song, unfortunately here in the United States people have forgotten, and the politicians and media are dividing the people here. I was a Volunteer Firefighter that had volunteered to go to ground zero to help search, and while I was there, I received a message from family that my mom was in the hospital with colon cancer and in a medical induced coma and was given a few weeks to live. Gitana, i just stumbled across your video. My baby cousin joined the army right out of highschool in 2006. He did several tours in Iraq and Afghanistan and served in the army for almost 10 years. 2 years ago he went to the park we all played at as kids and ate a bullet (blew his brains out). He never regretted his time in the army. He suffered from PTSD and couldn't readjust to civilian life.
Here's a lesser spoken of story of 9/11. For a while afterward we shut our borders down. Many nations that are our allies like canada, and the UK tried to offer help and relief. Even nations we were on bad terms with offered help and assistance and relief because of the tragic loss they were seeing as we were under a microscope. We turned it all down. We took care of our own.

I was working at a power plant in northern West Virginia when we heard about the first plane and immediately the plant went on lock down with no one in or out till further notice and then the second plane hit and they told us we needed to leave,so as my guys were packing up a plane flew over the power plant which we found out a little later that it was flight 93 that had crashed in the field and hit us really hard. I have never forgotten that day nor will I ever. Thank you for the kick in the butt to bring my Patroitism back to full strength on this day and in our countries troubled times we are in right now. I'm from Houston Texas. I was just a kid that I heard on the news about 9/11 & my mom's friends & bestfriend lived in NYC & I believe one of my mom's bestfriend is in those buildings
I took a few days to watch this. I'm not on social media on days like that. I prefer to be reflective on days such as this. This song is truly special to me. The artist Darryl Worley , though we haven't met in person is dear to my family. My cousin Dana was his Drummer. We lost him to cancer in 2016. Darryl graciously allowed one of his unreleased songs to be used at Dana's memorial service. Darryl is a huge supporter of our troops. He met my brother in Iraq on one of his many trips to visit our troops. Check out his song "I just came back from a war" as a veteran myself it speaks to those of us who have served.
As for how you describe America after 9/11 I concur. I pray another 9/11 never happens again in any country. But I miss how America was on 9/12 brought together and united. And it's a damn shame that it took a tragedy of that magnitude to bring us together.
It's so crazy that 20 years have passed, I had just joined the military, was 19 years old and thought for sure I was going to war that day. Scared out of my mind, and at the same time so sad for the people who lost their lives on that dark day. Rest in Peace fallen ones.

Watching this from 2022. Don't worry if it moves you too; on September 11, 2001, we were all American and felt the effects. I'm amongst those too young to remember, but I know that in London, the Queen's Band played the Star Spangled Banner.

I remember where I was. I was on the 39th floor of South Tower but made it out. I was trampled by the crowd when the towers collapsed. Took me 17 hours to get home.
I think that sometimes breeding anger isn't always a bad thing because it can bring you closer together and unite people against a common enemy.
I forgot where I was. But then, I lost alot of memories after my wife died. Some have returned. I never forgot the events of 9/11/2001. Nor did my wife and every year she would get angry about it again because of the lost lives and it was the day before her birthday. I guess alot of people with birthdays around that time will never forget and will have moments of anger and/or sadness. I will never forget and we shouldn't ever forget. But as unpopular as this may be we do need, for the sake of our own souls, to forgive. Jesus said to forgive everyone who does you wrong. He never said to forget. We need to always remember so that it never happens again. Peace and love to you and your family and all the Gitanos! I pray for my country every day. I also pray for yours and all of our country's allies.

I agree with you the day after 9/11 EVERY ONE came to together as human beings , AMERICANS. (all our differences were put aside) we rolled up our sleeves and helped. People from around the globe sent their prayers and condolences.. thank you again from upstate New York.. N.Y. city is about 6 hours away from where I live , so this was real close and personal..

This hit me so hard being a veteran. I actually entered therapy for survivors guilt. I'd give my life a 100 times for those killed and the warriors you died extracting the revenge. I still live in pain and live on meds for my depression. I don't think I will ever understand why. Attack the military but not the civilians. Rumors now are out that they are wanting to do it again. I would suggest not but then we are not dealing with people that care. NEVER FORGET!
I woke this morning remembering the absolute dread I held this same morning 20 years ago. I remember the tears, fears, then resolve I shared with family and friends. I remember hearing it on my car radio driving back to Ohio from a job in Michigan that morning. I remember calling my friend to tell him what was happening. I remember stopping for gas near Toledo and the cashier in the station crying, which made me cry. I remember looking up in the sky to see no planes, no trails, nothing, like we had just been robbed, innocence gone. I traveled for my job back then and remember my daughter calling my office to make sure I was not on a plane. I remember sitting in my apartment for 7 days watching everything unfold. I remember hanging the Stars and Strips from my apartment balcony. I remember purchasing my first hand gun with the very same friend I called that morning. I remember this brought our nation and the world together for a common cause. I remember we were only Americans for a time after that. I want to forget the who and why, a painful thought, but its burned into my soul.
Darryl is a very down to earth guy who did a lot of USO shows for the troops in Iraq, Afghanistan and all over the Middle East. He’s 6’6” ( 182.8 cm) tall. I was about to get out of the Navy after 8 years when 9/11 happened. Ended up doing another 10 years.
I really appreciate that you as a Brit feel the same way I as an American do. I was 12 that day. And now I have a 5 year old daughter I’m going to have to explain this to in a few years. She may not have witnessed/lived it the way her father and I have but she won’t forget either. We owe it to our children.
I was 4 years old. I barely started my second year of school. I rememberber coming home to a really heavy feeling. That day I will never forget.
