  • Here's an informal video I put together as a first look at the new Tone King Majesty. It's not intended as a comprehensive demo (it doesn't provide detailed descriptions and list of features, etc.). It is simply intended to provide a first look at this new model. Better quality videos will follow, featuring actual guitar players.

    have a royalist 45 with 2x12 cab. it came with el34's. but when I read the manual you mentioned the grunt of the kt66s. I changed them and WOW!! post a video showing the tonking with 34 versus kt66! would be a mind blower for many!

    OK- STOP! This is not fair! I just watched the Falcon Grande video, and thought my reign as "King of Indecisiveness" was over- and then BAM! Blindsided by a solid gold tone bus!
    I can't possibly get both....
    well... we DO have that home equity line of credit....

    Awesome amp. Really happy to see that all the new models include the built in Ironman.
    I hope that the imperial will still be available with the ironman in 2014-2015 :)

    I'm trying to decide between this Amp or the Imperial 20th Anniversary.
    Nice Job Mark

    Amp heaven...holy smokes. I just need an Imperial or 2...Just basic kick ass tone. A strat and some delay...I had a 66 Fender Bassman head in my room as a youngster...2 6L6 magic glow. I miss that amp.

    Just an opinion but I like hearing these amps from gibson/fender guitars

    Considering these are production amps, they shouldn't be so expensive...$$$$

      They're hand built in California. Nothing built in California is cheap.

      Hand built ??? does that mean they are point to point turret board circuit ??? if not, they are a rip off !

    • @arrick7464
      @arrick7464 Před 9 lety +1

      They use 3mm thick PCBs that are populated with Vishay and Mallory components by hand. The boards are installed into the amplifiers and then flying leads connected to pots, jacks, and switches.
      Total build time is 8-10 hours with several people Involved, not to mention a 48 hour burn-in time. That doesn't sound like a ripoff to me. Turret board ciruits require no extra skill and very little extra time to build.

      Point to point would take twice as long....& ill bet there's a bunch of cheap labour assembling these amps...just like mesa boogie does...

    • @arrick7464
      @arrick7464 Před 9 lety +1

      Point to point only takes twice as long if you're not a professional builder. A hobby builder will certainly find it time consuming. But in a production environment the process is refined such that there isn't much of a time disparity between PCB and turret/tagboard construction.
      And $2600 for the Royalist 45 is not a lot of money when you consider Marshall amps go for that much brand new and use significantly more streamlined production and cheaper parts.
      But hey, if that's too much for you, There are always the Chinese made Egnaters or Blackstar amps that would do you just fine.
