I would love to see more content on powder foundations, including application tips and reviews. Thanks for covering this!
I'm 58 with normal/ combo skin... Laura Gellar Balance&Brighten has been my go to for years. It doesn't settle into lines or creases, provides medium to med/full coverage (using a dense brush) and lasts all day on me.
Loved this. My fav is the lg balance & brighten.
I so appreciate you being here !
Yes. I’m glad you talked about powder foundations. No one talks about them at all !! Love your content. Best reviews
Your “ how to apply powder foundation “ is the perfect partner to this video. I happened to be wearing my NARS powder foundation today and wished that I had viewed both of your presentations earlier! Thank you so much for your excellent videos.
Have been using the MAC for like 20 years since I was a teenager. I love it. And just recently re discovered it. So easy. So pretty. Never fails me.
So glad you did a whole video of reviewing powder foundations ! I always wear a powder foundation, and think they don’t get talked about enough. I was on a mission last spring to find a good one for my son’s wedding, and ended up with the Fenty Beauty. I did wear a setting spray as insurance. Just love it ! Thanks for letting us know all the good options to try out ! ☺️☺️
I LOVE the MAC powder foundation and have been using it for years. 100 % agree with you!
I absolutely love the Wander Beauty powder foundation. I originally bought it based on a review you did in the past. I’m over 70 and over the decades have tried many powder foundations and never found one I liked and thought looked good on my skin, until this one. It lasts all day and I rarely need to do any touch ups. So, a big thank you for introducing me to this foundation. I sure hope they keep it around for a long time.
My absolute favorite powder foundation is the Merle Norman Ultra Powder Foundation. I have tried literally 100’s of powder foundations and always come back to this. I keep one in my purse for touch ups for any makeup I may be wearing! Love it!
I was surprised that bareminerals didn't make your video. I'm 64 & have been a long time bareminerals wearer. I do wear a primer & use a setting spray. I haven't had any issues with it in any way. I've tried a number of liquid/cream foundations & they just don't measure up to my bareminerals. I know everyone has to find what works best for their skin type, age, etc... Thanks for the opportunity to express my thoughts. I appreciate all you do for your viewers, Stephanie!
Bare minerals sirs in my fine lines and wrinkles terribly. It ages me 15-20 years.
I used bare minerals for many years but now that my skin is drier it looks awful.
I’m so happy that you made this video. I bought the Mac one and I have to say that this is beautiful on my face. I paired it with the Shisedo concealer. I then sprayed the Pore Professional over for a little more lasting power. Absolutely gorgeous! Thank you Stephanie! 💗
This is so timely! I was just watching your powder foundation routines earlier last week. I find myself going back to L’Oréal Infallible Fresh Wear, although I really want to try the MUFE one sometime in the future. Although I’m not quite 40 yet (I’m 36), your reccs are always spot on and I’d love to to see an updated routine from you!
You are wonderful. Thank you for all your extremely helpful videos
Thanks Stephanie! I've tried most of those and I keep going back to Mac. Also great shade range! There's just something special abt the formula that it blurs and melts into my skin and looks very natural. I like the others too tho.
Love to see an updated version of powder foundation and application
Thank you for your review, Stephanie. I would love to see an updated video on the application tools with the powder foundations. I enjoy the Jane Iredale Pure Pressed Powder Foundation. It works great on my oily combination skin and doesn't get too cakey as the day wears on. It can also be used as a concealer.
I've never used a powder foundation because I have dry skin but I've always been fascinated with them. They always look so easy to use and FAST!
I might give either the Shiseido or the Wander Beauty a try - you never know, I may just it!!
Much love to you 💗💗💗💗
Your videos are so thorough and helpful. Many thanks!
Thank you!
I loved your recommendations, very nice round up 👌🏼! And yes, we need an update on the application video 😀! Thank you
Thank you Paulina!
❤️ would love an updated application of powder foundation!
I'm so glad you did a powder foundation review! I have found them indispensable during COVID as a way to touch up what masks wear off.
I had a sample size of PUR Cosmetics powder foundation and it has been a lifesaver.
Funny you should mention Wander as a hidden gem. I strongly feel that their liquid Nude Illusions Foundation is amazing and no one ever talks about it.
I've never tried powder foundation, I appreciate the reviews. I would like to try one, now I've got a few to think about.
Would love to see your updated videos on application of foundation/ brushes / sponges / etc. thank you!
The Wander Beauty powder foundation has been my favorite for a couple of years. It is so good and looks very natural. I'm interested in trying the drug store foundations that you mentioned as well. Thank you for all of the helpful information!
Thank you!! I adore powder foundations. Mac Studio was my first HG in the 90s. I’m more of a loose mineral gal. Alima Pure and Monave are my favorites.
There are some great recommendations there Stephanie, thank you xx
Thanks Hazel!
Hi Stephanie. Thank you for this updated video. I was just thinking of trying a powder foundation. I always go for you and Risa's brands. I have the same skin types as you both. Well Wander Beauty this time. Thank you have a great day.
I bought the Dior Forever skin correct concealer from one of your videos where u said its your holy grail! I absolutely love it! Its perfect for my 42 yr old eyes! Thank u soooo much!
I wear the Wander and love it. It is a gem that doesn't seem to get talked about.
Love your reviews Stephanie. I am over 60 and with dry skin. I use Mac Studio Fix Plus in my foundation rotation. Concealer first then applied with a brush, it’s a quick out the door. A little detail brush covers sun spots or redness around the nose if necessary. The Mac and Laura Geller are my go to powders foundation.
I’m a powder foundation girl and I wear 100% Pure’s Fruit Pigmented powder foundation. I like to wear Elta MD UV Elements underneath! It’s a great combo and easy!!🥰
I loved this video thank you
Thanks for the list of foundations. The best powder foundation I've ever used is by Laura Geller, they have a couple different finishes and I have found the Balance and Glow perfect for mature skin (I have dry skin). The Balance and Brighten is very nice too.
My all-time fave drugstore powder foundation is the e.l.f. camo powder foundation! It is amazing and I use the e.l.f. duo brush to apply and it is just perfect!
Thank you Stephanie on other powder foundations. Only one I use right now is the MAC. I will check out some others that you mention 😊
Great review as always Stephanie. I love powder foundations and have a few on rotation. My two favourites are the Mac studio fix plus and bareminerals barepro powder foundation. The Fenty looks good on me but my issue is I keep getting hard pan, something I never get with other powder foundations, so annoying!
Hi Stephanie - thank you for this video. I am 56 and I have been using Bare Minerals since I was 45 and I still love it. I would say I have normal skin - and I find that it provides great coverage.
❤️ would love an updated application video for powder foundation.
Great video! I used to love powder foundation easy to travel and now that we are traveling again I am on the hunt for a nice everyday powder foundation. I would love to see application tips for the MAC one and the MUFE. I am amazed by your results I am probably applying them wrong!
Thanks 🙏🏼
Hi Stephanie Marie, I would like an updated video where you apply these foundations.
Have a great day!
I love the MAC and I have dry skin that has come with age. I’m 62. I also really enjoy Chantecaille powder foundation in peach. Thanks Stephanie.
Mac is my favorite but thank you for the covering tips , also i need to try shisedo powder
I absolutely love the L'Oreal Age Perfect Creamy Powder Foundation. It rivals high end, doesn't look like makeup, has great coverage, and plays nice with my mature dry skin. I'm on my second compact of it, and hope they never discontinue it!
I love it over their ageleas concealer. It has that creamy, radiant finish i find hard to come by at the drugstore. I think its light coverage, maybe up to medium
If youve tried Jcat Aquasurance, thats a full coverage powder foundation.
A timely presentation; I think I've seen at least a dozen new powder foundations, loose and pressed, introduced in the past few months. But I've been spoiled for many MANY years by Bare Minerals Original loose powders. Since the days of Leslie Blodgett doing her own low-budget infomercials on HSN. I'll probably try the e.l.f. version this summer, though I already know diligent exfoliation before using it will be absolutely necessary. Thanks for your energy Stephanie!
I want to try it too, but I’m NOT convinced there’s a shade for me. Either too pink or too yellow. I’ve convinced myself to not ever try it. I hope it works for your skin because it looks like a beautiful formula!!
Updated application, yes please. Thank you for the great videos.
My fav is IT Cosmetics Celebration foundation.Using for 10 years and stays all day, never goes in creases and get tons of compliments on my skin.
Love IT Cosmetics Celebration Foundation powder foundation. The best I've tried.
Wanted to try the Milani but my shade is always sold out. I am glad you are talking about coverage because I definitely want at least medium coverage.
I just picked up the Fenty Pro
filt’r soft matte powder foundation today at Ulta. Glad I went in to test 3 different shades. I’m light-medium neutral. Shade 185 looked best on me. I like my Jane Iredale pressed foundation for light-medium coverage and Tarte Amazonian Clay full coverage airbrush powder foundation. Will see how the Fenty foundation compares. Thanks for the recommendations!
I’ve found that powder foundation is definitely the way to go for me when I’m just needing an everyday foundation. The easiest to apply powder foundation for me has been Clinique Beyond Perfecting Powder Foundation. It’s supposed to be foundation & concealer in one, but I have found that a lightweight concealer underneath in some spots is needed at times, depending on how dark my undereyes are. It does have pretty good medium to medium full coverage. Personally, I think that it doesn’t “play well with others” and if you’re using it, then you need to use Clinique primer as well and it can show some texture. That being said, the staying power is pretty darn good for a powder foundation.
I have often wondered as I get older (43) and there’s more texture (I’m not saying fine lines or wrinkles…lol!) about the MAC Studio Fix powder & the MUFE Matte Velvet powder. I use the MUFE MV concealer sometimes and that stuff doesn’t budge!
I stopped wearing ANY "powders" a few years ago when I realized it accentuated every little nook and cranny in my skin and especially since my skin went from combo to ridiculously dry the older I get. I do use a finishing loose powder but immediately set with a setting spray. Actually I've ditched all powder products for cream and it's made a 110% difference ! I wont say never by way of trying them out though😉
Btw, I've recently discovered SKINFOOD honey primer.. omg heaven ! It makes my makeup look amazingly fresh like I just applied it ! Something definitely worth checking out💯
I was the same way I have extremely dry skin and as I started aging powder was looking horrid! Until I figured out how to do it the right way w the right prep, right amount, and the right technique!
I have been wanting to try cream face makeups. It makes me nervous… I’m 44 now.. and I feel like every little line shows.
thanks for vid pretty lady. great info. be safe
I would love to see you review Jane Iredale mineral powder foundations. Her Purepressed as well as amazing base loose powder!
Updated version of putting on powder foundation would be awesome!
Subbed! Thought I already was. Idk what I was thinking! And again Risa sent me! 😘💜
I have dry skin and I've been using Mac studio fix powder foundation since high school, almost 20 years. It's reliable and easy to use (also easy to throw in your purse for on the go). I use my regular moisturizer underneath and have never had issues with it looking too dry. Have I used the wrong moisturizers , for my skin type in the past, yes, and then I can see it clinging to dry patches, however this happens with all foundations when the moisturizer is too light weight for me.
Did you get your hair cut?!? Love it! In just got 3” cut off mine and it feels so springy! Thank you for this context! It’s EXACTLY what I’ve been looking into and I can’t decide! Some of the drugstore are NOT great. Been thinking of trying a more high end brand. ❤️
I put on pur powder foundation for a quick cover. I love it!
Bare Minerals all day every day!!! Love this foundation so very much. I also like the new ELF one. Very full coverage and soft/pretty.
Yes, I would like an updated review of application for powder foundation.
I have extremely dry skin and the Mac Studio fix is basically the only powder foundation that looks great on me!
I’ve worn the MAC studio fix powder foundation off and on for years and love it, but the one I always come back to time and again for the last 10+ years is the Jane Iredale pressed mineral foundation. It’s my holy grail.
Ditto about the jane used it in my 30s…stopped cuz had kids and didn’t wear makeup. ha. I’m back to it on my 50s. The best ever!
I have dry skin and am in my 40s. The best powder foundation is the Laura Geller. I'm surprised more mature audience people don't mention it. It's great
Arianna pleat can I ask you which one you use from Laura Geller?
You introduced me to the Milani powder from your video drugstore products that look high end. I love that powder! I’m combo/oily too and find I get fuller coverage from the sponge. But I also use the elf kabuki brush to get more airbrushed coverage or freshen up. I have the same experience throughout the day. But it’s doesn’t appear greasy. It still gives me a slightly poreless finish. I’m interested to try the L’Oréal infallible though. I keep forgetting about that powder.
Love yoir videos, before doing any shopping I like to see first your recommendations
Thank you so much! 💗
I love Jane Iredale powder foundation. our southeast Louisiana humidity just makes my foundation melt away. Jane’s powder stay put all day. Just amazing. I want to try her powder sunscreen too. Have you done a video on it?
Good morning 🌞, I use Milani powder foundation, I love this product, people ask me what kind of makeup I use, I told them I am wearing powder foundation in fair shade, it make my skin look smooth all day, I also like the cream to powder also, same glowing natural skin, more woman should wear Milani, I am 68 years old, my skin looks healthy. Thank you, I enjoyed watching your channel
Thank you Stephanie, very interesting. I wear powder foundation mostly. My favorite is the Lancome Dual Finish applied with a brush - I do not seek full coverage. This foundation I used for more than 25 years, as my skin got older I do not use it in the under-eye area... For drugstore brands, I am trying now the L'oreal Infallible #130 which I find OK for every day but thicker and more powdery. I liked better the L'oreal Age Perfect powder foundation, but cannot find it currently in stores. Bought recently the NYX Can't Stop Won't Stop, this one has a great fine milled texture but the color I got is a a bit dark for me, will have to try it again in the summer.
I love powder foundation and have tried countless over the years and my favorites are MAC Studio Fix and Lancome Dual Finish. Both have customizable coverage, hold up beautifully during the awful NYC summers, don't look heavy or cakey and never emphasize texture, dryness or fine lines on my 42 yr old combo skin; best of all, both have a shade light enough for me. I wear NW10 in MAC and 100 in Lancome. I'm testing the EL Double Wear (new formula or new packaging?) right now and like it so far. I never tried it before because until now, they didn't carry my shade, 1C0 Shell. I'm really surprised you haven't tried Lancome's yet.
Laura Geller Balance and Brighten is my favorite powder foundation
Thank you for this video! I like the ease of powder foundation but cannot find one that doesn’t cake with my natural oils on my mature combo oily skin. I hope one of these will work.
Yes, update how to apply powder with brush and sponge 😊
I love the MUFE powder!
I have a few of these foundations. My fav is the Wander powder foundation
I’m 71 with decent skin
I have the milani and love it. Just have to use a hydrating or dewy primer under it!
I generally have dry skin, and haven’t liked the finish/feel of powder foundations BUT this summer, I’m struggling with matte, liquid foundations.
I’ve been lightening up my morning moisturizer (only using a gel moisturizer and only under my eyes and around my mouth, where I tend to be drier). I have a collection of Korean sunscreens which I love, but they all seem to leave varying degrees of “glow” and never manage to totally absorb, hence my use of the matte, foundations. Even with this combo, the glow shines through after a couple of hours and I have to blot several times during the day. I just tried the L’Oréal infallible powder foundation. I love how if feels - finally no tacky feel! However, I do feel a bit of tightness around the eyes and my eye ‘crinkles” when I smile. Still looking for a happy medium.
I would like un updated video on the powder foundation application,in particular of the fenty one!!!!
I agree, the Wander Beauty powder is so overlooked, I can’t believe it! I’m glad you brought the attention to it that it deserves! I have very oily skin and this sits great and lasts all day (with one or two blots)! Highly recommend people try it, give it about 10 minutes to settle into your skin and it looks like a liquid foundation! And it’s talc/fragrance free! LOVE it!
Thanks Stephanie, I may try a few of those. Can I recommend my favorite powder foundation? Lily Lolo Mineral powder foundation. I am 50+ combo skin & when applied with the right brush (dense) it is a game changer. I never saw any youtuber review it but I swear by it.
You need to try the new Tarte Gem Powder Foundation aka their airbrush foundation. It’s for combo to dry. Gives me full coverage! I have oily to slightly combo and I’ll save the rest for the winter. Doesn’t have the staying power as Bareminerals. I usually just wear BM Matte in the summer and mix in the original. I live in SC and it’s a swamp here too - that’s why I love powders🌴
I used the mac studio fix for years. I have dry mature skin and find i like the jcat beauty one a lot. I have used Mac, the fenty and the loreal and keep going back to the jcat beauty powder foundation
I just discovered Laura Gellers Double Take powder foundation, it’s excellent, I can’t get the right shade in her balance and brighten even though it’s so popular, but this one lasts hours and gives brilliant cover.
I’m so glad you mention the Wander powder foundation - it is my absolute favorite and so underrated! Their website often has sales, so you can usually get it for 20% off. I also love their liquid foundation with the doe-foot applicator. Great woman-owned, environmentally conscious brand. I’m happy to support them!
Just tried Wander....how do you apply it? I used a brush...do you use the puff?
@@loiskurtz3362 I’ve tried several methods and I find my Real Techniques powder brush works the best for me. It’ll take a few dips to start getting coverage but I can get to full coverage with the prettiest finish using that brush!
I have the Fenti… and I actually love it. This powder foundation seems to last. And gives a nice finish. It can look a little “dull” I guess. Like you need to add some warm tones.
Great video. U have to try Jane Iredale pressed powder and their loose power. It is the BEST and a bonus that their products are healing that’s why they are sold on doctors offices. Can be used after laser. Hugs from Tampa.
I was surprised you didn't mention Laura Geller baked balance and brighten. I looooove it! If you haven't tried it yet, you totally should
I love the Shiseido. It holds up to my oils pretty well. When it does start to allow oil breakthrough it does it nicely in a natural looking way. I haven’t tried wander beauty’s but I’m curious.
I love the ease of a good powder foundation! I had the Wander Beauty powder foundation years ago and did like it. My favorites are Laura Geller balance-n-brighten (I’ve gone through so many) and Jane Iredale Pure Pressed base.
I was surprised that Laura Gellar didn't make her list! Balance and Brighten is marketed for mature skin. I really love it!
@@shannonstewart4737 I’ve used it since it came out maybe 15 years ago! :)
LG for the win!!
I love Laura Gellar too!
It’s one I’ve run out of several times. I love that you can wear it alone or over tinted moisturizers & it still looks sheer/natural
I wanna try that fenty!
Your last pick ordered 😊!
I wanna see an updated version! (Powder foundation application!) Plz n thx! 😁
I'm so glad I watched this...I bought Wander Beauty Powder Foundation because of this video and all I can say is WOW! I wish they had more shades....I bought 2 different shades and went with Medium....It feels amazing and so much light than the Laura Gellar powder foundation that I've been using. I used a brush for application but most (old) videos show using the tiny puff that comes with the compact...what's your thought on this?
Please do the same format for the setting powder for mature skin
Hi Stephanie
I agree with you on Mac studio power foundation. I find that it doesn’t look dry or settled into wrinkles and is long lasting. ( I’m 67 )
Mac is my holy grail powder foundation. It always looks good and lasts all day! I just use a moisturiser underneath, no primer or anything.
I love Milani!
The Powder Camo from Dermablend is gorgeous for those with normal to dry skin. It looks great on me (oily skin, but it has too much glow for my tzone, and i fimd myself having to mattify that area a bit yoo much with it). Jcat Aquasurance is great as well, if you have a lot to cover
I don't often wear powder foundation, but when I do, I wear Estee Lauder. They have a shade that is the exact color and undertone of my skin. I use it like you described one of the first ones---to "augment" the pigment and lasting power of a tinted moisturizer or a very, very sheer foundation. I have dry, mature skin, and if I wear it "full strength", it looks much too heavy, but if I use a very fluffy, not too dense brush to graze it over my skin, it looks great and lasts a long time!
I have a perfect color match in Estée Lauder too that I can’t seem to find anywhere else! I never tried their pressed powders. I am still mourning the discontinued DWL 😞
@@jennicrow2946 I mix the regular EL Double Wear with a serum, sunscreen, or moisturizer and it applies very much like the DWL, but lasts longer. It would be worth a try!
@@irairod5160 thank you! Will try that!!
I would love to see an updated video on how to apply powder foundation for mature skin. Thanks for this video!
Hot & Flashy just did one on powder foundations.
