I like how The Jukebox is keeping the old school arrangements in rotation and phrasing certain parts just a little different than previous years to give it a new feel, Keep Up the Great Work SU...I see ya tho Talladega!

Stopped by to say that I agree w/your last sentence. This is why I get so mad when people want to label SU as "LOUD". Well, they are more than that. They are clean, sharp but MOSTLY BALANCED. I wanna apologize for the dudes here who think Dega won that comparison battle.

Whoever wrote SU arrangement is a genius. That sounds just like the real song. Dega has very few runs. SU has a plethora of runs.
Talladega is actually a pretty decent band they just need to control their sound a lil more but they definitely have improved

It is fun to watch people that are passionate and good in what they do. It is fun to watch groups of people perform very well and as one. A marching band is a good example of that. They perform with a lot of togetherness and synchronicity. It is fun to watch the college marching bands march into their stadiums so that they can get ready for their football game activities. Many of the marching band members march in with their game faces on. The musicians and the dancers of those bands are geniuses because they have to memorize a lot in order to be able to perform very well and in great synchronicity whenever they perform anywhere as a group. It is great to be able to read, write, and play music. Everyone on Earth should be a member of some type of musical band.
I'm not a dega fan in the least, there arrangements leave a lot to be desired, there control is shaky at best. was at this battle so imma be 100, Su was deff unmatched in sound, intensity and power, man I have to admit them kids from dega was putting there heart into it though. props for steppin up to even battle Southern, no one else was prob willing to. Imma prop dega for this showing, there much improved

Talladega still doesn't sound as full as SU. Doesn't matter their size either. They always sound deflated despite being loud.

Good intonation must be present for all the air you put through the horns to be impactful, Talladega. That's the difference in the two sounds here. Talladega has the sound of many individuals rather than a full balanced and impactful sound. I don't understand how a band at the collegiate level doesn't understand that concept. Staffs out here just allowing students to blow them off the podium, but damn the quality. I don't get it.

Actually... They do. And you could hear winds in SU version. But woodwinds do not project sound as well as brass. You don't hear woodwind sounds bouncing off the stadium walls.

@@ddh07 @1:46 no disrespect... But if you are/were ever a musician who played in bands you'd know what I said. Much of this arrangement by SU had the woodwinds holding chords. You can't really hear them because as I said before. Their sound does not carry like brass.
@@Cafe_Es_Bueno well I guess you are right! Maybe Southern should go back to all brass since their woodwinds can't be heard (in respect to their style). I'm sure you you'll agree since your a musician as well. Also I heard the woodwinds from JSU,BCC,FAMU,TSU,NORFOLK,NORTH CAROLINA A AND T.

B Humble I really don't think they want to be the jukebox at all,I think they have a director that was a student in the jukebox under doc,so of course you may see certain things that remind you of the jukebox, but I don't see a total copy of the jukebox! !!!!!

+B Humble but they have been giving alot of bands comp big time. it's just that they have no control and they have more practice time. tbh both bands need to step their field shows up I expected more since it was a botb with field shows you can tell stands was a main focus. but overall it's early...bands will improve. and they have no control on their director and his wants. He was the director that had DSU looking nice in 2006.
Damn, Anyone else notices how morris brown inspired these bands today? Southern copied their arrangement of skin im in. Jackson trombones stole their whole arrangement of something in my heart. So remember ATL bands did it first !!( search up Southern vs morris brown 2000 ) most of yall so called "band heads" dont know nothing about them
