I love loud race cars, but it’s also cool to be able to hear the tires struggling to hang on.
All my years watching top fuel drag and funny, I never thought about that. Excellent catch.
one of the cool things I like about high power EV drags is the sound of their slicks just growling down the track.
@curiousdroid lays down the physics of these tyres @ 11:26 here czcams.com/video/g0KTGHGXqsQ/video.html
You could hear the chirp, thought I was the only one that heard that
@kasuraga Being able to hear the air being be pierced adds to it.
You can tell it will be fast just from how hard it pulls just past the 60.
This is one to watch for sure.
I say thanks for the track length comment , so many times I’ve scratch my head rewinding to find that information . 👍🇦🇺❤️
Bro that dragster sounds badass
When I heard 4R100, I about fainted. That thing is so damn heavy.
Literally no boost on launch. This thing should rip after fully dialed in. Good to see someone doing something with the 6.7
This is cool but I liked the old days when the Amsoil ultimate callout challenge stated you would bring 1 truck & engine & do all the events. This puts it in the hands of only those who can afford a professional race team. Maybe some day they will go back to the challenge as it was setup in the very beginning. So much more fun when you have local guys & home grown & built rigs competing & having fun. From the towing to backing up trailers & even the economy shootout. Please bring the original challenge & lock the big racers out.
Hope it fly's faster when it's dialed in . Looks cool as hell . A lot of engineering went into that monster .
Thats awesome. Thank you for sharing. Would love to see more and learn more about the 6.7 PS set up
What a Bad Unit! Sick!!! 🔥
Beautiful work on the turbo set up. Art
Excellent narration on this video. Thanks for sharing. Cheers from Motown.
What an awesome set-up,very impressive 👌
Strong car, good concept. The place you'll have the most trouble when it goes head to head with anything is staging. They're going to play staging games with you big time.
I like the colors. Perfect.
All of the “how dare you’s”
Cool, glad to see 4r100 is working, need to do one myself
A work of art
Honestly I'm surprised that there's a CP4 pump on this thing. Nice looking machine regardless. Would be cool to see Big Daddy send this down the strip a few times. Also hearing this monster when it first fired up sent major chills up and down my body. Sounds so much like a 7.3L Powerstroke to me.
Hell I might have to keep a few from all these recalls
Love it.. Would love to see increased 6.7 PSD Performance content on the channel
Amazing performance!
this is given me thailand diesel top view vibes just with massive turbos
That thing is bad ass!
Pretty sick!
6.7 baby 😮
Is the DPF still on it?
Looks like to me..... 😏
Those welds are beautiful.
When it actually leaves with some boost it's going to put up some good numbers. That's super soft to the 60.
I'm impressed, whatever that's worth.
Beautiful music in my ears
I love diesel dragsters. So cool.
There was half a sec on the line at least after he rolled out. Good job fellas
Continued success, would love to see in person but not sure where your track is located ! Power on gentlemen !!
Looks like it doesn’t smoke too aggressively, but I’m guessing that also depends on throttle usage since it seems like the driver didn’t push it that hard on spool up most the time. Nice job!
yeah pretty crazy luckily doesn't pollute
Sic!!!!
Cool
TH400 with t-brake for the Win
I think Bean used to put a brake in the 4R100
Can i get these tunes on the hydra for my 7.3?
Just my opinion but would a VGT as the main turbo not help with launch then the two larger non VGTS help maintain power down the track
I need one for my 99 Chevrolet S10.
Do they come in my size?
What are these 300 over injectors capable of? 320HP per cilinder or so?
I want this in a ford maverick
2:32 that's not the stock cam. What rpm is he shifting?
Looks sweet! With those turbos I’d think it would be running too lean but that smoke it looks too rich!🤷🏻♂️
You can’t run too lean with a diesel.
Gale banks is shaking his head
So cool. Love the 7.3
Bad ass
Can’t wait to see it make a pass on nitrous
That’ll be way into the 4s with a hard launch. Losing a couple tenths tripping the stage beams before really moving.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Get a Motec in this thing! I couldn't imagine how time consuming this would be trying to dial this thing in on the stock ECU.
🔥💥💨👍🖤💪❤️6.7ftw
Basic engine?
Cool setup, just gonna get slaughtered staging. Looks like it should be super fast but it's so slow vs others.
what kind of fuel does a top fuel diesel run? Is it special in some way?
JP 5 and a TopGun sticker adds 1000hp.
Dud I think for the times I won't to know the real times !! I think for every pass !!
This setup makes no sense for running 1/8th. Is the plan 1/4 mile or just targeting a specific build?
I would daily this.
Nice to see a powerstroke enter the diesel rail world! As much as I am a fan of triples having had a triple 6.4 myself, they aren’t the ultimate for drag racing… especially sitting that high. A big single and lots of nitrous has proven to be the best option given the records set by Firepunk, Hardway, DNR, Rudy’s and others. Hopefully there is plans to adapt a stand-alone ecu and better trans. Either way, best of luck with that rail SPE!!
What's wrong with the trans? Many guys are running 4r100 behind extremely high horsepower diesels nowadays, including Cummins guys.
I think the single works for the largest variety of setups, but the compound idea really shines when turning the boost way up, where a single just won’t keep up.
@@lucascarter1641the fastest guys are running turbo 400’s. 4R100’s are fine to a point.
@@BusterChestnutsevery single current record holder is either running a large single or parallel twins with a boat load of nitrous. While their triples look cool and can provide maximum boost numbers there’s zero advantage they provide in drag racing when weight and simplicity are favourable.
@@KInd325 I suppose with airflow being the ultimate deciding factor, using nitrous to spool as large of a single as possible makes sense. I am curious why tractor pulling, which have very similar demands, generally favors compounding.
A 4R100 Really🤯
That's just so silly,... Hate the black smoke of the leave, but cleans up nicely and stops wasting unmade power once in to the run, the NOs should get that all to be clear heat haze, and the torque it makes means it should be pulling just as many GT of acceleration at the top end as it does the 60 foot line.
What.. no fake bull balls hanging from the wing?
Yeah all those new parts will take about 2 years to ship knowing SPE...
Is that an electric drag car?
Why an E4OD? A build C6 would probably be better.
🤣🤣 not a chance
Id been racing for 85years and them tires need more air.
Part that caught me off guard is the fact you guys are running a 4r100 I have to ask why? I have one now and I didn’t even know they were capable of such power
Stock....not so much, but if built, they can be pretty strong(obviously) 😀. But I'm wondering why the 4r100 too. The 5r110 is better by far. Idk tho, kinda outa my class. Lol
@@tdotw77 I would think because it’s drag racing the 4 speed is best. Even though the 5r100 is better 5th gear wouldn’t be used. Maybe more cost effective also
@@Kodi5204 top gear is same ratio on both the 5R and 4R
The 4r is easy to control compared to the newer transmissions
Yea but where you put the DEF? 😂
A 7.3 transmission?!?
Now is there a way you can make the engine explode on the channel I would really like to see the engine go in several pieces in every direction
Must be nice to have enough money to play like that.I'm glad that there are people out there that can.If I were filthy rich ,I'd be doing the same.Only with GM stuff though. Could you imagine a 800 cu in Nitro engine ,with the biggest blower on it.100% nitro and fed with nitrous oxide.400 mph easy quarter mile.Don Garlits back in the day' had the balls to make a quarter.mile pass with a setup like that. With all this AI technology. And remotely controlled steering. Why don't they try it.
Insurance. Run 400 MPH once and no track in the country will let you back in.
Rollin coal......
Because I really want to see the engine explode please comment and let me know if you can do that for me
that is ridiculous the way the think spools up and you can hear the slicks doing its work down the track..its hard to explain in text
I’m surprised it’s running any transmission
5.40 is slow for the money you put in. We run 5.10 with a 620 bbc for prolly half the price
agreed
You coulda had a V8. Jeez
Too easy.
All that and still only 1500hp. Nice set up, but I was expecting way more HP with a triple turbo set up and 300% overs.
How much power does a 300 over injector make? 320 HP or so?
@@what9418 Its not in HP its in percent over in fuel. I have seen 1500HP done with 100% overs. The triple turbo I was expecting to see closer to 3000hp. Lot of power left on the table
I assume the stock block holds it back
@@jasunsmith9136 hi yes but given there is an optimum injection duration at a given RPM to keep EGT within limit, there is a max power output associated.
If you say 100 overs deliver 180-190hp per cilinder, then 300 overs would be good for 360hp. And stocks about 90-95hp per cilinder (which means maximum power with stock injectors will be around 720HP, is that right?)
And then of course rail pressure is of influence too. But with 300 overs I agree 3000hp would be in grasp. Might not be a revver though
I bet the torque numbers are crazy
Why only 8th mile? Thats lame
Suggestion, send this to Greta Thornburg 😂😂😂😂
How depressing is this
That ain’t it
Watching a diesel drag race is almost as boring as front wheel drive cars race.
Yea it has to be down in the low 4's... 4:30 or better! Was it less expensive to build this vs an alcohol or just race fuel motor?
Maybe who ever is taking the video would spend a little more time on one portion of the car rather than bouncing around like he is on a pogo stick.
Dumb question.
Why do these thing create so much black smoke, is it just down to the amount of fuel running through the motor?
At times they seem to run relatively clean, others dirtier than a $20 hoe.
would be interesting to see it run against Gale Banks 7.0L Duramax Dragster: czcams.com/video/dKc7d73yOSs/video.html
