We were in San Diego at this game… the crowd (myself included) went crazy when he hit the homer but as if that wasn’t enough we looked at him make that catch in real time and it erupted that much more. It was beyond surreal.
I’m a lifelong Cubs fan (was in Dodgers Stadium the very next night for that combined no hitter) and Petco Park was the closest vibe I’ve felt other than Wrigley. Glad to be in the building for this game. Dodgers Padres is just outstanding

The ground rule double rule should be changed to score all base runners
That makes no sense. Because while runners like Buxton and Tatis and some others could easily score from 2nd and possibly score from 1st, there are runners like Miguel Cabrera and Albert Pujols who might get thrown out at home
@@jakewhite2320 pujols is way more of an outlier than tatis. Most mlb players are fast enough to score from first on any double much less one that bounces off the wall. Keep in mind a ball that's going to bounce over the wall isn't one that holds the runner at first. I'd guess around 90% of ground rule doubles would've scored the runner from first if the ball had stayed in play.
