  • In this video, ‪@Carchaeology‬ got me hooked up with this beautiful 1965 Chrysler 300 which my kids affectionately dubbed “Vanellape”. This car sat in the back-40 of a man’s property since 2005 after having some transmission issues.
How bad is it? Will she run?
*this video was all recorded in May-November 2022 and was all over the place during and after filming due to technical difficulties and lost footage.

What a nice find. I have always been a "C" body fan, and always find myself gravitating toward these videos. There are so many muscle car covered videos out there, the "C" bodies need love too. Personally I prefer the comfortable ride, and just cruising. Thank you for the content, couldn't ask for a better video.

I agree, too many muscle car videos and not enough of these beauts. They definitely deserve more love. Thanks for watching!

As soon as you popped the hood, I had flashbacks to a 1967 T&C wagon I got from the original owner. It had the original window sticker, build sheet and sales agreement. It was well equipped, DUAL A/C, PW, roof rack, 440 and disc brake delete. The owner used this as a donor car for her 1968 New Yorker. Since it was sitting in a carport in Phoenix for YEARS, the field rats had a heyday. She had the carb removed, the tore apart the A/C ducting and basically cannibalized the wagon. So I took it to a car wash and vacuumed out all the nesting materials (boy did THAT smell) and pressure washed the entire engine bay. Got it home and yanked the engine and had it rebuilt and found a 1967 New Yorker parts car that I removed everything could and put the wagon back together. I added a tilt/tele steering wheel, AM/FM radio, cornering lamps and auto headlight dimmer. I kept the power door lock assemblies, but never put them in. LOTS of fun.
    LOVE the older "C" bodies.
Great car for fixing and driving.

I’d love to have a wagon like that. Was the 440 completely full of nest?? I couldn’t believe my 383 was still on great shape even with the nest in the intake. How’d she turn out?

@@RANCHIN21 Yeah. We vacuumed as much out as we could, but it sat far to long and when we tore it down completely it was pretty gnarly. It was a lot of work, but it turned out well. I replaced the front clip with the clip from the New Yorker and that way didn't have to cut the fenders for the cornering lights.
It was for sure a labor of love.
There is also a kid on here that found '68 T&C wagon that he found and got running. The only 3 options that I could see that the original person who ordered it didn't check the boxes for auto headlamp dimming, twilight sentinal and stereo (It has the AM/FM). Don't know if he ever found the build sheet He updates now and then, but he did get it running and did a new exhaust and brakes. It was a northern climate car so it has some pretty serious rust.

To be just a basic 300 and not a "Letter Car" bucket seats and console with power windows is a high-optioned plus. ...and the 383 is no slouch if Hi-Po parts are added. And A/C!!!
