      More to come! But it may be a few months. I have to limit my exposure to that place. It is TOXIC. The epa will make the town it is located in a Super Site within 20 years. Being exposed to the chemicals there....over and over....would not be good. So I will wait like a month....maybe go back again then....do another video for a few hours.
      You know...it would be fun to go there more often. But it is just not worth it due to the circumstances.
      The ground water in the town is undrinkable. Lots of people are getting rare cancers....kids with birth defects....and I know for a FACT it is all related to these dumps.

You can even sift marbles in the river in place where they are dumped over the bank into the river. I know beaches I can go to and sift marbles like I do arrowheads. But it is pointless because places like this creek have the same marbles and 1000 times more. If people outside of this area......really knew how many marble king marbles were dumped.........they would be worthless. There are more vintage marble king marbles dumped in the ground....than were ever marketed to the public. FAR MORE.

      Have you been looking on ebay? Gas prices are HIGH. people are not spending the money on stuff like this like they were. There are big lots of marbles on ebay all the time. And if you know what you are looking at.....you can buy hundreds of good ones for like 100 bucks.
      Start typing in "Marble collection" "Marble Lot" "Old marbles" . Then go to "Highest Priced items first" you will see the best lots.....they will have lots of bids and be like in the $75.00-150.00 range after 3 or 4 days.
      Those are the marbles you would want to buy. But pay attention to condition....and make sure you know what you are doing on some level. If you do......you will have success buying marbles on ebay. If you go to "completed listings" you can look at all the marble lots that sold....and what they sold for. That is how you get a good judge on what to pay. If you do that on a regular basis and get bids in in the last few seconds on the auctions....you will get mind blowing deals on marbles.

    • @rockscousteau
      @rockscousteau  Před 2 lety

      The people selling the marbles on ebay...will all throw bids at the marbles they can sell.....the good stuff. You will see it in the bid numbers. Most of the sellers on ebay selling individual marbles.....buy all their inventory in lots from ebay. Then relist with good images.

      I hope so too! But you know.....it is not to bad. I went out on the river at 7 am....back by 9 before it gets hot. Even down in the woods on that dump.....it is a little cooler being under the big trees. I can handle the dump for a few hours per day. if I get to hot I just leave. I can pretty much walk if I wanted to most of the places I look.....so just the convenience of it is super nice. I have one dump that is 200 yards from my back door.

I could row there in my kayak from my house in 10 minutes. It is just to dangerous to go all the time. I am afraid I will get to much exposure to bad stuff in that water. Anyone can go there on certain areas and mess around. The only thing is this. Read about the Water issue in Paden City.
      All the ground water is contaminated. The entire place should be an EPA super site right now. And this creek is probably one of the top 10 most toxic places in the US. Bad stuff was dumped there. The reason the ground water is all screwed up there....are dumps like this.....right around the water table.

    • @rockscousteau
      @rockscousteau  Před 2 lety

      it really depends on the glass...some of it just performs horrible. Some of it is DREAM material to knap. You just have to hold it in your hand kind of....you can tell after you test a few pieces just from looking at the surface. That one piece that was grey with the blue spot in it....would be perfect. Slab it to where that spot of blue is in the center of the point. It would be awesome. That is why I took that piece.

    • @rockscousteau
      @rockscousteau  Před 2 lety

      I dunno.....i think it is worse to be honest. I think that is worse because of the standing water...it is damp....humid...and miserable. It is down in a real deep gulley too. And the air is stagnant.
      The ground is full of toxins.....that is what is the worst thing I think. I limit my exposure to that place because of that. The ground water in the town this dump is in....will be an EPA super site eventually. It is contaminated.....they have a mess here in this place.
