Altered Vintage Playing cards video: czcams.com/video/Kp0BxSKPXx0/video.html
I just screamed at my daughter,” Don’t throw those away, I’m saving them” and she thought I was crazy. She said what are you going to do with those? So I showed her your video. We now have a strainer by the sink to dry tea bags. Lol. Thank you and many blessings!
Oh I love it hahaha
I’ve done that myself. I know I should feel bad, but when they are old enough to have reason when you explain, you shouldn’t be having a debate.
Natasha, I love how you always have the instructions written out for us to follow. Another brilliant use for old tea bags. TFS.
Yes 🥰 Tfs
I love these ideas. Especially the ideas that let me use what would normally be tossed in the trash. Thank you.
Aargh when I think about all of the teabags I've thrown out over the years. Thanks for sharing!
I know, right? Thanks for watching Lori!
I throw them all away! Oh well, we can start from now to save them!
Wonderfully original and well done. Now I'm dumpster diving for old tea bags!
I too have been saving teabags for quite some time and this is the most brilliant way to use them. Signing off to “give it a play”.
Hehe Thank you Diana, did you have fun?
I am new to junk journaling and your videos have been so informative and so inspiring! You have answered the questions I had before I even knew I had them! Thank you so much for your channel and all of your creations and sharing them with us. You are a true genius!
Tea bag, glue, ink! !! Ohoooo! !! You're so, so creative. Thanks
Great!!!!! I have hundreds of these teabags. I make whole pages with it. So it looks like a quilted page. But this is also a great idea. 👍
Love this..have not seen this elsewhere. Thank you for sharing!
Looking forward to trying this.
Wow very impressive. That is so cool. Thanks so much for sharing, well, off to make some tea!!
Hehe I love it. Thank you!
I love the idea of using magazine images more than printables. Printables are cool but its sometimes difficult to find just the right one, depending on the theme of the journal. I'm also a stickler - junk journals should be made from, you know, JUNK. Stuff that would normally go in the recycle bin or the trash. Cereal boxes, magazine pages, and scraps of paper. Maybe even soda cans. This tea bag idea is cool.
Yes I did and I am “hooked”. Rule #1 in the world of art, “everything deserves a second chance”.
Yes!! My new mantra hehe
@Diana Welch Everething!!! Always!!
I save trash all the time. Art shouldn’t cost a fortune. Plus recycling is necessary these days. So it’s a hobby that heals in more than one way : )
Oh my gosh I love you! " you could go buy a journal at target, but that's not what it's about" spot on for me anyway :)
What a great idea. Love it !
How FABULOUS!!! Would have never thought of this on my own. Yes - I imagine this technique is super fun! 😊🔆
Thank you Deborah! SO much fun! Even just general collaging :)
Love this tip! I've got some old magazines I've been hoarding because of the vintage modern pics to use, "someday"! Someday is here! Thank you! 👍💖
I love it!!! Now is the time!
You're so original, I love it!! I've just done a Journal spread with some beautiful black and white vintage photos. I could easily see this technique in my next journal spread.... hugs from England, joie 🌿💜
Thank you so much! Yes definitely this would look awesome over black and white!
Thank you for such awesome inspiration!!!!! The quotes book with the quotes teared out is genius!! I'll be trying all these ideas, but especially the quotes idea!! Thanks again!!!
My pleasure! Glad you like it and found some inspiration :)
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS!!! Thank you so much for sharing your ideas with us!!
Thank you so much Jemma!
Loving the maps!
What a brilliant idea...I drink tons of tea and now I know exactly what to do with the bags. Already compost the tea itself. Thanks for the tip!
I love it!! I drink tea too, and before adding milk, I take the tea bag out, and set it aside to dry. Thank you for watching Susan !
You are my FAVORITE person to watch/list en to! Because of that and my wish for your future successes, please check yourself on saying "and stuff like that" as much as you do at the end of sentences ...10 times in this video!
Keep teaching and delighting us! You are fabulous. All my best.
Absolutely fabulous. The tea bag rips quite easily too, love it. Ok, I'm off to play. TFS 💕
Have fun Selina! Thank you for watching and commenting :)
What a brilliant idea! I’m always amazed at the techniques you come up with, as well as creative ways to repurpose unused items...love your work and your channel!
Thank you so much Jill, much appreciated!!
You are a trail blazer! Pure inspiration! Use this all the time!
Thank you ❤️
Oh my goodness sweet lady, you have given me more fun today then I've had in a long time! I am using all my saved tea bags on old magazines, maps and cards. It is addicting and I didn't want to stop. I left wrinkles on one old advertisement of a beautiful lady smoking with a brand of cigarettes that had "old" in the word> I'm going to say my mom always said these would make you look old and wrinkled. I also found an ad for a lady all dressed in a hat and red suit and jewelry looking at washing machines that began with the word "Hot" so I will use that one too to prove laundry makes you look hot! I used my homemade decoupage glue, but the brand Decou-page worked better with a wet brush, but it is so expensive I switched to the other. It still works, just not as stiff on the pages. This tutorial was fun, and I'm glad I had all the supplies handy. I have many old magazines from 30's to 50's. The images in them are already vintage so I don't have to worry about finding vintage looking images. I get them at estate sales pretty inexpensively. One of the problems with vintage looking junk journals are images that look glossy and new, so now I can buy garden picture books and make them look old.
Hehehe Debbie, what a fun comment to read! You are SO lucky to have such old magazines!! And you are totally right about vintage looking journals having glossy and new ephemera :) It makes me happy that you dove right into this project! Thank you :)
How lucky you are to have vintage magazines 🥰🤗
Wonderful idea, wonderful tutorial. Thank you.
Very interesting as I was wondering how to do this. And your tea dying video was great, yet a bit more work than I thought. When I saw the big jar filled with tea H2O and tea bags, I thought, "oh, she's stuffed papers in the jar, how easy," lol. I was dead wrong about that! I have dyed papers with tea and coffee, but not so many at a time. You're very ambitious, Natasha, and selling your beautiful journals, and all the goodies that go with them entails creativity of a higher kind. The fact that you are enjoying the process really matters to me because if I don't love what I do, then... I can see that you work hard to make your creations; and even appear to be creative on the spot as you go and I love that. I hope you see that I'm commenting on 2 videos cuz I saw them in a row. I love your videos so much and have written down your instructions (and my own little drawings when needed) for many many of them. Thank you so much for your generous sharing. XOXOJANE
What a great idea! Thanks for sharing.
I love vintage pictures, and you have found a wonderful way to make them. Thank you sooo much for sharing. 💖🌸

Thank you Judy!!
What a wonderful tutorial. It is so easy to understand. Thank you for the help.
What a brilliant idea!
You really find clever ways to alter and use things we have around us instead of buying or printing ready kits. I do appreciate that!
Have a little stash of tea bags and didn't know what to do with them. Now I know! Also excited to be able to use more magazines. TFS 🤗🦋🌻🕊️
OMG! I'm going to go make some tea right now! Love love love this idea! Thank you!

Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching :)
Absolutely love this. It gives a brilliant effect and finish. Will be giving this a try for sure 👍🏻
Thank you so much!!
Wonderful idea. You have given me inspiration.Cannot wait to try.Thanks.
Thanks for coming up with this wonderful idea. It also would be a good way to give some more fragile papers a bit of reinforcement.
Pozdrav iz Hrvatske, obožavam Vaš kanal i rad! Hvala Vam na tome! ❤️
Oooo Veliko hvala!!!! ❤️❤️❤️ Topli pozdrav!
I am blown away by your technique 🤩
omg! love it!!
Ahhh this is exactly what I’ve been waiting for! I’ve tried to look for ways to use my tea bags and this is so accessible. I’ve seen them used as mini-canvases (beautiful artwork but beyond my ability) and as an added texture for master papers (I do like that extra texture) but I love how this is a simple way to age pictures! I have so many vintagy pictures but look too new and I don’t think they’d hold up to coffee/tea dying. Thank you for this!
You Are a Genius 🤓!! I would Never have thought of this!!
Natasha, that’s really really helpful and clever of you. You made a brilliant job of those magazine pages. Thank you so much xx Mags
Love this idea, I'm gonna make a bunch. I like to use vintage in my art, this is great!
Love this. I have some vintage magazines from the 30's that would be great to do this process with. Thanks for sharing.
Oh wow! From the 30s?? Lucky you!
Great idea will have to give it a try. X
loose tea works great for 'rust dying' fabrics … sprinkling it in with the rusted 'stuff' on fabric that is soaked with vinegar … some of the tea turns dark blue like indigo and sometimes black … fun fun
Wow - what a great idea! I love the suitcase and map ones best. Thanks.
Thank you for giving examples without print out I have no printer to copy all that stuff so thanks for the DIY.
I've always tried to use 75 years if printed prior to 1987 as a benchmark for copyrights in the US. The law is convoluted. My printer always told me if I copy Art and book pages for personal use rather than profit I should be Ok...I've respected this advice since my newspaper advertising job 25 years ago.
Well done a wonderful idea, don't b hard on yourself u are so inventive with pockets and colors xx
Hi Natasha! I have some old vintage books with beautiful poems in them and expressions and even sayings from Shakespere! Great to do this to them
Great idea Thank You so much!
What an amazingly clever idea! I can’t wait to try this! TFS! ❤️ Emily

very nice. i had given up on using tea bags but im eager to try this, thank you!
This was a great tutorial. I have been actually saving tea bags, but I did know how I would use them. These are some fantastic ideas that you shared. Thxs! 😀🤗🌻🌴
I just love how we are all thinking along the same lines! I knew most of us would be saving the tea bags :) Thank you for watching :)
The pictures really do look like they're from old magazines! I have some tea bags saved, so now it's off to look for some images to use.
Another thing you can do to add to the vintage look is add some little specks of the same color to the page, sort of like how people use a toothbrush and ink or paint to splatter a page, but you only want a few small ones.
That's a great idea, thank you :)
Great video, I love the technique, and you made it easy! It is a good thing to occasionally remind folks of copyright issues. Thank you for the work you put in to make these fabulous videos....
