Anything you claim from PIP has nothing to do with UC. I am a former AA/AO for DWP UC. Anything from CA will be taken off UC but Carer's Element is part of UC and isn't affected. If you have any problem in this regard, you must first alert your Work Coach via your portal/journal - service issues and your Case Manager. You can call the NTL line and ask for a HO or Handover to be sent to the CM for their attention in this regard. If you have further issues ask for a Mandatory Reconsideration to be sent to a Decision Maker. Case Managers and Work coaches have time restrictions on actions, sadly Decision Makers do not and they have a high yield of cases. I hope this helps.

Or instead request carers element on UC which is £180 a month as it you apply for carers allowance with your UC it's means tested and you will have it dedicated form UC and end up like £50 worse off. Or least that was the case in 2019/20 when I last checked

Hi. Can i ask a question?
I care 24/7 for my diaabled partner since January 2020 and my partner receives PIP since January 2020. We are both in Universal Credit. I never claimed for Carer'w Allowance due to not knowing about this Benefit. I recently found out and applied.
My question is: Can Carer's Allowance be backdated to the day i started her care, January 2020 ? Thank you!

I’m a single parent with 2 children and claiming carer’s allowance for my 9yr old Autistic son I also get universal credit’s and I work 16hrs a week. My wage has just gone up at work and I’ve been given a bonus, what will happen with my carers allowance as I’ve gone over my allowed earnings of £151, so this is making me panic a bit. Does anyone know?

      Hello Carer's Allowance Rate 2024/2025 Carer's Allowance Rate 2023/2024
      Per Week £81.90 £76.75
      Every Four Weeks £327.60 £307
      Per Year £4,258.80 £3,991
If possible speak to employer and ask if you can reduce hours. You don't have to work 16 hours minimum for universal credit and you have special circumstances

    I commented on another post
This is how it has been for me:
Pip declined at tribunal , no assessment or consultation .
( amputated finger & bone misdiagnosed as a laceration , turned away from treatment 6 times because of original diagnosis, causing whole hand to claw & severe pain .. N H S admitted fault of misdiagnosis after an investigation)
I’m a full time carer & lost my part time job because of it, living on carers allowance & £160 UC a month .
Council tax department also admitted to mistaking my identity and deducted £8,000 of my UC for six years & still rising ! . Mistaken identity goes back 34 years !
If I didn’t have the documented evidence of admittance from N H S and council tax no one would believe me .
I have PTSD because of both issues and receiving therapy.
Diagnosed CRPS , arthritis & dupytrens contracture .
At my tribunal they told me they used my application forms as their assessment, with no need for a consultation!!!
