The island has been renamed "Hans Solo Island" and the nationality of the walrus has entered the debate over the possession of the island. •  Před 2 lety

@@larryhall2805 And yet a majority of people can agree that certain comedians are funnier. Odd that. The fact is, like most things, if you plotted people's subjective opinion on a graph overlaying mainstream comedians, you'd get a bell curve with its center representing the comedians appreciated by the widest range of people. You could even overlay another curve representing the approximate distribution of broad appreciation. Some people only find toilet humor and puns funny. I, on the other hand, can laugh at anything from dark humor (like Greg Giraldo,) to whimsical hyperbole (like Chris D'Elia.) I can also appreciate high brow thinkers and dry British wit. Anything can be funny unless you're too rigid to see it. I've always said, I don't care of they're laughing with me or at me, as long as they're laughing.

Bill Burr is just one of those guys who says stuff on stage that most people say at home or on the job site or in the bar. "Blue collar" comedy, but with a Boston Irish twist. He's one of the few foul mouthed comedians that doesn't come off as being foul mouthed just for shock value. It's more natural and he just says what everyone is thinking most of the time. He's genuine that way.
He's closer to Carlin in that regard, even though Burr is an actual comedian, where I don't think Carlin ever really was. These kinds of comedians are so rare now, especially with "cancel culture". The fact anyone even calls Bill Burr "controversial" is an absolute shame. It says more about society than Bill Burr.

Not in NYC. There is a con I first ran into about 15 years ago, where a person or group of people will be in the street handing out free CDs of their struggling hip-hop crew. As soon as you have it in your hands, they start hassling you to donate them $10 for the same CD they told you they were giving to you for free. This is why people in NYC may seem to be rude or dismissive. There are so many scammers there who start by trying to engage you in the street that the automatic assumption is that the person approaching them is trying to take advantage of them or is crazy.

Later that night, as we were leaving to head to our B&B for the night, Alan was sitting outside (having been kicked out of the pub by this point.) He asked us to take him to another pub saying, "I know this place where they've got the things on the things…" When we told him our B&B was right across the street, he replied, "Well, fick ya, then!"
