throne of glass is so insanely special to me and it will forever be one of my favorite series of all time if not my favorite. i literally think about dorian and chaol every day.
I completely agree with you about reading Assassin’s Blade first. I read Throne of glass and did not care for Celena and subsequently DNF’d the series. Years went by then I decided I wanted to pick up and try the series again. I read Assassin’s Blade first and it made me like and care for Celena so much more. I’m still getting through the series but I’m enjoying it more than I thought I would based on my feelings the first time I read Throne of Glass.

100%!! I'll never understand reading AB later on in the series. I didn't read it until after the 5th book, and I regretted it so much. I wasn't a huge fan of Celaena, and also didn't really give a crap for Sam 🥴🥴. I finally understood after I read AB.
I am in this situation, I read the first two books ages ago and decided to re-read it and I could not give two damn about Celeana (I have been stuck at 30% for book 2 because... she is honestly pretty boring to me). Maybe I should try to pick up the assassin blade to see if it unlocks the slump I have while reading Crown of midnight.

You mentioning Say You Swear is EVERYTHING to me. I was never a reader growing up and actually struggled with comprehension and being able to imagine things in my head when reading. I started with Colleen Hoover and then on a limb i saw one of Sara’s old videos (like very old haha) and i downloaded it on KU and i had never read anything that made me feel like that. I now have over 600 books and am a HUGE reader. That book is so special to me. I know the writing is so Wattpad but the story was special to me. If anyone is reading this comment, this is your sign to pick it up!! Love your videos bestie!! 🩷

As someone in the middle of reading throne of glass series
I know it in my heart that The Assassin's Blade must be read first bcoz it makes you see her character and care about her story. I tried to get into this series by reading throne of glass first but it was hard to care for Celaena and the pace was quite slow...so knowing what i know from the assassin's blade made me stick by her side to the end and I complete agree with Destiny that its a more harder hitting/emotional experience ❤

Destiny!! I wanted to let you know that you inspired me to read Happy Place last year. I found out that the setting was based in Bar Harbor, Maine. So that’s where I booked my vacation!! I went in January and the bookshop in Bar Harbor had Happy Place references everywhere in the store🩷

I am starting to read it for the first time today and after reading Book Lovers (I loved it), I have high expectations for this book. I can't wait to finish it and see if it is worth the hype. It's so much easier to care about Celaena and Sam when you read AB first.
Thank you for saying that The Storied Life of AJ Fickery is set in a coastal town, that makes me want to read it even more! I just read a book set in a coastal town where the character was going to a bookstore and bakery and I loved it so much (Bookshops & Bonedust) ❤ it was also really atmospheric and heartwarming

I am currently reading Throne of Glass with Assassin's Blade as the 3rd book & I wish I would have read it first.
Reason being: TAKING A BREAK FROM THE MAIN STORY LINE IS KILLLLINNGGGGG MEEE. I did not consider this whatsoever lol
I'm in the middle of TOG series and I read the assassin's blade first and I am so glad I did. It made me love Celaena soooo much more in Throne of Glass right off the bat.

I’ve never read Firefly Lane. But I ADORE the tv show. I binged season 1 in one day and couldn’t stop thinking about it. Maybe if you go in thinking about it as another story you would like it? I do have the audiobook so I may have to start it soon!
