@@redrumax I just saw him last night and he is the most humble, kind, self deprecating, loving, warm, funny, and vulnerable person I've ever seen on stage. Yes he's very intelligent and he puts all the words in his songs and it shows you how intelligent he is he's way ahead of his time today's music actually what he wrote then pertains to today it's a forever music loved boy George
@@TheOriginalZzYT That's precisely how TRUE men (and women) should be. That's why Boy George said that.
My girlfriend made me go to his concert. I tell you what, his concert was one of the best out of hundreds of different bands that I've seen. And I'm a rock fan. I really enjoyed it. He is a very outspoken person. Which I really like from the attitude of a musician.
Those were the golden days of the 80s. While guarded, Boy George handled this Letterman interview like a pro. His intelligence and ability to articulate his purpose was far beyond his years for the time. He won Letterman over in little more than 11 minutes, a sign of true talent. Culture Club was a massive presence in North America in 1983, a popularity amongst all music genres of the day not to be underestimated.
I think the gay community should take note of boy George in 83 did you notice his confidence and the way he held himself when the people in the crowd were laughing and lettermen asking very direct questions. Nowadays someone would be so offended and run off and the media would go burn down the show. But boy George knew his self worth and his talent his dreams in his music and the way he’d always wanted to present himself. True respect for him being himself everyone gay straight brown black or white should take note of that.
Boy George is absolutely ahead of his time. I saw him in and interview around the same time, he was 23 or 24 and he said that a gay person got on him that he wasn't using his star platform to be a gay advocate and Boy George told him that that's not his job, that he's an advocate against discrimination and hate against people that are different, people that are far or skinny or disabled or mental disabled etc that everybody is an individual and unique and he would never make fun of anyone because they are different that he hates bullies and those who pick on those who cannot fight back, thats who I'm an advocate for and the gay person got upset and walked away. That really impressed me. He also said that when he became famous in the business what upset him the most was the rock stars that he idolized turned out to be fake, that it was just a show they put on. He said one needs to be true to ones self and he's absolutely correct.
Well let’s be honest here, he was lying about his sexuality deliberately and it had nothing to do with selfless motivations. But the truth is, if I had been that gay person meeting him I would have told him to keep doing what he’s doing. If he had come out, his career would have been over before it started, and he needed to become a success in order to be something that young, gay, effeminate boys could look up to.
@@nuclearswan Well no, he wasn't lying about his sexuality, he actually was bisexual in the early 80, he's had both boyfriends AND girlfriends, he was looking for a real true sensior type of love, back then he didn't care if his lover was male or female. He’s a gentle spirited old soul. I admire his bravery and confidence back then and after. Wish I could meet him in person one day. Love you loads 💖
Boy George talking about antiwar and anti racism? Love a progressive icon!
Wow ,this brings back memories . I was just a kid and Boy was George my whole world.Such a beautiful, Gentle, kind sweet soul. always loved how sweet George was. George was absolutly adorable here ! This was a great interview . Loved how David Letterman was so nice to George. I really respect him as a interviewer because of how he treated George .I don't know how anyone could be mean ,or how anyone could laugh at him ,hes just a babydoll He's just always been so loveable.
REbecca KIng you're lucky. I wasnt born in the 80s and I agree with your comment
Isn't it a shame how much time they spent talking about his appearance than about his artistry?!
Big Band , the Culture Club. 👏👏👏👏👏
He is so gorgeous
Andy Jones yep I could put him out on the corner and make me all kind of money. . .... Haha 😋
You replied to yourself calling yourself a fag?
@@Danimal77 The fact that you replied two comments here of men recognizing he's a good-looking man makes me doubt of your sexuality. Why do you feel uncomfortable when you see a secured man complimenting another one without being necessarily gay?
🙈🙉🙊
@@koolcat3513 no one cares lol
Boy george is really talented .. Love the way he sing his song ... And he is actually handsome guy .. Only the way his dress and his face really look like a cute girl but he is with his best talent .. Love him.. 👍👍👍
Did MJ ever wear makeup?(not in the 80s but I mean 90s or 2000s), because George’s makeup here reminds me of that
'well done,Boy for dressing down this audience."
I first saw him when I was about 4 years old, and I had thought that he was ABSOLUTELY beautiful.
Wow. I was almost born on the 80s but still
Missed the mark
Ahhhhh the Fantastic 1980’s the great Decade ever in Humanity!!!!
2019.. He is really sweet back then .. 😁😁😁😁❤❤❤
I remember when I first saw him on stage! He was amazing! I love his voice! I had a crush on him! I believe that it was 1987.
He has an amazing voice so his success is warranted.
Boy George is such an interesting speaker he never runs out of enthusiasm he has proved to many (not that he needed to ) he’s a winner . And he has a powerful presence .
he's a great joy to me. ive watched him for all the yrs he's been singing and his band, too
OMG. I had no idea how young he was at the height of his success! He’s so awesome! I want George to make a big old comeback!
He's still about and making music
He's in Vegas doing concert
He’s cute when he was young 💜 look at his beautiful long hair and his face
Ikr! Even your BG picture is cute!
*Holy fuck he is too beautiful I can’t take it. Love him with all my heart.* ❤️
Thank you BOY George for one of the Greatest songs of my LIFETIME--TIME 🕘
I'm 55 and binge-watching BG interviews. What a trajectory he's had.
Well spoken for a 22 year old. Articulates his thoughts well. Try and find a 22 year old pop star these days and try conversing with them and you can literally see smoke come out of their ears as they strain to compose a thought.
Yeah a well spoken , classy 22 year old Boy George as oppossed to someone today at 22 who acts like a 14 year old.

Being British/English helps a lot tbf
If my best friend LILLIAN EVANS was here she would have definitely love boy george.😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
George is so adorable
He is so kind
I am from the CC era. I never questioned his appearance, but he stood out. Looking back I feel his outfits are underestimated, they are beautiful and stylish. His unique style is unmatched. It's hard to believe he's only 22 here, as he is so mature and way ahead of his time.
So brave and smart for those times😍
I love his way of thinking and GODDAMN HIS SMILEEE
I agree his smile was adorable. I wish I couldve met him in his 20s
I love Boy George and I don't care what the others say.
Youth! The power and the pain of being so young
Beautiful George!! Classy and sweet !! Love you
How many artists today would actually be remembered 40 years later?
🇮🇹. BOY GEORGE SE N'È SEMPRE SBATTUTO DI TUTTI QUANTI,,,,,, E HA FATTO BENE,,,,,,, TANTI SALUTI DALLA PROVINCIA DI BRINDISI
🤚🤑🤚
God I miss those times! :(
Letterman is always a class act. He never cuts down those who are downtrodden. His biggest beefs are always with arrogant guests.Lovely to see he made sure that Boy George wasn't truly offended by the crowd that was there ready to jeer.
Hes a living legend
