His point was simple yet the Christian try to avoid it because it is clear.
    Deuteronomy 18:16 states:
*Let us not hear the voice of the LORD our God* nor see this great fire anymore, or we will die.
Christians believes the Jesus is Lord. So by default it cannot be him because the Jews made a specific prayer *NOT* to hear the Lord voice. If you claim Jesus is Lord, then his voice is "the voice of the LORD" and that was what they prayed against.
Then in Deuteronomy 18:17 The Lord said: "What they say is good" Meaning he accepted the prayer. BECAUSE in Deuteronomy 18:18 He tells them he will send them a prophet. So that *THEY DON'T* have to hear his voice, but instead a voice from a Prophet.
    Case Closed. Peace.

+IlmWolf Hi you stated that "So by default it cannot be him because the Jews made a specific prayer NOT to hear the Lord voice. If you claim Jesus is Lord, then his voice is "the voice of the LORD" and that was what they prayed against."
The word LORD is YHVH the tetragrammaton for the name of God. It is not the name LORD or Lord. This word has been used hundreds of times in the OT in the Hebrew scriptures.
The English translation is Lord. So the claim that "they don't have to hear his voice" is faulty and in error.
Numerous sources will show you that this title Lord was inserted by the translators replacing the name of the Creator. If you look at a Hebrew Interlinear it will also show you that the name YHVH or even YHWH or variant of that was there.

    • @37rogu7

Tafari I Interesting. The problem still arises for the Christians because if the passage reads:
"Let us not hear the voice of the YHWH our God"
So if Jesus is Yahweh then it contradicts the passage because the prayer was answered. If the prayer was answered then Yahweh wouldn't send "Yahweh" to convey the message.
He answered their prayers so instead of communicating with them directly he would send a prophet and put his words in his mouth. That is why i said "they don't have to hear his voice"

    • @tafarii5428
      @tafarii5428 Před 8 lety

IlmWolf First of all are we able to establish from Duet 18 that there was any kind of prayer being offered, and by who first? I prefer to deal with things in small doses otherwise things can get confusing.
So how do we establish that there was a prayer there. Thanks

    • @37rogu7
      @37rogu7 Před 8 lety +24

Tafari I We know that the Jews were gathered at Mount Horeb on a day of assembly according to Exodus 19-20. They wanted to see and hear Moses speak to God. After they saw thunder, lighting and the noise of the trumpet to were hesitant. They then spoke to Moses telling him to speak with them instead, because they do not want God to speak with them.
"And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die."
Take it back to Deut 18:16
For this is *what you asked of the LORD your God at Horeb* on the day of the assembly when you said, "Let us not hear the voice of the LORD our God nor see this great fire anymore, or we will die.
So the Jew asked for something. God acknowledge their request and responded in Deut 17
You can call it a prayer or supplications. The point was they asked for something and God responded to their request.

His arguments were so bad and made no sense, why does he use vague statements like 'what Moses spoke about me' as 18:18 when there are other verses such as Acts which explicitly state that Deuteronomy 18:18 is not Jesus. Either way these arguments kill 2 birds with 1 stone in that it shows Jesus is not God, and/or that he is not the prophet of 18:18.

The promise to Ishmael is seen in the following verse,
“But regarding Ishmael I have heard you: I have blessed him will make him fruitful, and will increase him most exceedingly; he will beget twelve princes and *I will make him into a great nation*.”(Genesis 17:20)
This promise is repeated several times for Ishmael:
“And also of the son of the bondwoman will I make a nation” (Genesis 21:13)
“Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him in thine [hagar] hand; for I will make him [Ishmael] a great nation.”(Genesis 21:18)
“The angel added,”I will so increase your descendants that they will be too numerous to count.”(Genesis 16:10)
Who among the descendants of Ishmael succeeded in fulfilling this promise in making a great nation that bore multitudes?
“We see from the prophecy in this verse that 2337 years elapsed before the Arabs, Ishmael’s descendants, became a great nation *[with the rise of Islam in the 7th century C.E.]*…. Throughout this period, Ishmael hoped anxiously, until finally the promise was fulfilled and they dominated the world.”

Artan Moallim “Tell me, you who want to be under the law, are you not aware of what the law says? For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the slave woman and the other by the free woman. His son by the slave woman was born according to the flesh, but his son by the free woman was born as the result of a divine promise. These things are being taken figuratively: The women represent two covenants. One covenant is from Mount Sinai and bears children who are to be slaves: This is Hagar. Now Hagar stands for Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the present city of Jerusalem, because she is in slavery with her children. But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother. For it is written: “Be glad, barren woman, you who never bore a child; shout for joy and cry aloud, you who were never in labor; because more are the children of the desolate woman than of her who has a husband.” Now you, brothers and sisters, like Isaac, are children of promise. At that time the son born according to the flesh persecuted the son born by the power of the Spirit. It is the same now. But what does Scripture say? “Get rid of the slave woman and her son, for the slave woman’s son will never share in the inheritance with the free woman’s son.” Therefore, brothers and sisters, we are not children of the slave woman, but of the free woman.”

I have researched all 3 Abrahamic Religions and found Islam to be the True Religion of God.
As for Judaism it is all about the Chosen People and is almost racist as you cannot be a Jew unless you are descended from one of the Twelve Children of Israel. Judaism fails to satisfy the essential criteria of a religion by requiring external obedience to moral laws, having a secular focus, and lacking a concern for immortality. Furthermore Judaism also lacks a belief in an afterlife which is actually necessary for human ethical behavior in this life.
And as for Christianity it is an almost idolatrous religion as they lack the principle of the One, True God with no partners. Christians had to follow One God, but they have made God multiple, not singular. And not to mention many of the internal consistencies and errors contained within the Bible. Many Christians try to combat this problem by selectively interpreting each verse according to the context of the verse, but critics argue that the selective invocation of portions of the Old Testament is hypocritical, particularly when those portions endorse hostility towards women and homosexuals, when other portions are considered obsolete. There are also hundreds of versions of the Bible, whereas only one version of the Quran. This is the reason why I chose to reject Christianity.
And the reason why I chose Islam is because in the Old Testament it is mentioned: "God said to Moses, on whom be peace:
“I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers; I will put my words in his mouth, and he will tell them everything I command him.” (The Holy Bible, New International Version, Deuteronomy chapter 18, verse 18).
The prophet described in the above verse must have the following three characteristics:
    1. He will be like Moses.
    2. He will come from the brothers of the Israelites, i.e. the Ishmaelites(Muhammad SAW was an Arab).
    3. God will put His words in the mouth of that prophet and he will declare what God commanded him."

Mousa Hasan It's been answered already which you have no knowledge of. This is from (answering Christianity.com) [The well-known historian and scholar ‘Allama ‘Imad-ud-Deen Ibn Katheer writes in his 'Al-Badayah' about Sayedah Asma’ daughter of Hazrat Abu Bakr’ (Allah be pleased with him) (and we hope Maulana Syed Abul Ala Maududi must have seen it as he referred to 'Al-Badaya' in his article): Asma’ died in 73 A.H. at the age of 100 years. She was ten years older than her sister ‘Aishah. Now according to this report ‘Asma’ would have been 27-28 years old at the time of Hijrah and since she was ten years older than Sayedah ‘Aishah, therefore the age of Sayedah ‘Aishah would have been 17 or 18 years at the time of Hijrah. Accordingly, her birth falls about four or five years before the Call, and her age at the time of the consummation of marriage in 2 A.H. will work out to 19-20 years.] Also did you kno that Mary was 12 while with Joseph at 90 or not?

Why the Jews did not accused the 90 yrs old Joseph a pedo or a child rapist when he married mary, the 12yrs old girl??? maybe its a norm at that time for girls to get married when they hit puberty? why Jesus choosed a 12yrs girl?? are christians worshiping a god that support a pedo act.

    Deuteronomy, Chapter 18:
“I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.” (Deuteronomy 18:18-19)
Here Moses is addressing the Children of Israel. He quotes Jehovah as telling him of the coming of a Prophet.
The marks for recognizing the coming prophet would be as follows:
    1. He would be from among the brethren of the Children of Israel.
    2. He would be like Moses.
    3. He would speak words and commands put in his mouth by God.
    4. He would speak in God’s name.
If you examine the above details of the distinguishing traits of the foretold prophet and those of Muhammad (peace be upon him) who was born centuries after this prophecy, you will be surprised to learn of the striking similarities.
    Jesus or Muhammad?
Here one may also consider the Christian argument that the above prophecy is about Jesus.
So we need to examine who is actually meant here, with reference to the details of the prophecy.
    1. It is clearly mentioned that the coming prophet would be from ‘their brethren’, i.e. from the brethren of the Children of Israel.
We know that Jesus was one of the Children of Israel and so it is clear that the prophecy does not apply to him.
Whereas Muhammad (peace be upon him) was born in the family of Ishmael; indeed his grandfather was Qaidar (Biblical name: Kedar), one of the twelve sons of Ishmael.
    2. Of the two prophets (i.e. Jesus and Muhammad) one is mentioned to be like Moses.
In fact, it is Prophet Muhammad who is really like Moses, and not Jesus.
For instance, Jesus was born miraculously without a father; he did not marry and lead a family life; his mission was very short (three years at the most); and God raised him unto Himself when he faced the possibility of violent death at the hands of his enemies. (Christians believe that he was crucified).
And so, we find that Jesus did not have the time to realize the dream of establishing a society based on the principles he taught. Indeed, he had declared that his mission was for ‘the lost sheep of the house of Israel’ (Matthew 15:24), and not for the whole of humanity.
    Prophet Muhammad’s Mission
Compare the above with the mission of Muhammad (peace be upon him).
Like Moses, he had a father and mother; he married and led a family life; his mission was long like that of Moses; he died a natural death; and he brought a Law (Shari`ah) for the establishment of a social system, like Moses.
It is also worth emphasizing that at the end of the Book of Deuteronomy, the following is clearly stated:
“And there arose not a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses, whom the Lord knew face to face, in all the signs and the wonders, which the Lord sent him to do in the land of Egypt to Pharaoh, and to all his servants, and to all his land, and in all that mighty hand…” (Deuteronomy 34:10-12)
This makes it clear that there never was a prophet like Moses in the whole of Israel after Moses, according to the Bible.
Thus, we can clearly see that between the two, it was Muhammad from the brethren of the Children of Israel, who could be called, “a Prophet like Moses”.
    And Allah knows best.

the 'ethiopian christian' is very typical abd its shameful because while he is using king that is clearly not necessarily and always a prophet, the prophet was not always a king. king is a brother, but prophet is always after commitment of God to Abraham must always be from his bloodline. Muhammad [SA] was from the bloodline of Ibrahmim [AS]. my brother in reality can only be brother, whereas cousin can be a brother to show dearness but is a brethren. anyone that denies this is ignorant. if the commentary book of the bible says Muhammad [SA] is the most similar to Moses [AS], why would anyone deny it? the commentary itself is an indictment against the writer, any read, hearer of it and those watch this video and do not even engage in soul searching and discover Muhammad [SA] as the one singular universal prophet [SA].

    *Deuteronomy 18: 14-20*
14 The nations you will dispossess listen to those who practice sorcery or divination. But as for you, the Lord your God has not permitted you to do so. 15 The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your fellow Israelites. You must listen to him. 16 For this is what you asked of the Lord your God at *Horeb on the day of the assembly when you said, “Let us not hear the voice of the Lord our God nor see this great fire anymore, or we will die.”*
17 The Lord said to me: “What they say is good. 18 I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their fellow Israelites, and I will put my words in his mouth. He will tell them everything I command him. 19 I myself will call to account anyone who does not listen to my words that the prophet speaks in my name. 20 But a prophet who presumes to speak in my name anything I have not commanded, or a prophet who speaks in the name of other gods, is to be put to death.”
They were talking about the below incident.
    *Exodus **20:18**-20*
18All the people witnessed the thunder and lightning, the sound of the trumpet, and the mountain in smoke. And when the people saw this, they trembled and stood at a distance. 19“Speak to us yourself and we will listen,” they said to Moses. “But do not let God speak to us, or we will die.” 20“Do not be afraid,” Moses replied. “For God has come to test you, so that the fear of Him may be before you, to keep you from sinning.”…

Kalam El needs to get in the ring himself-he's up to something for the Muslims. If he can post a video refuting Afrocentrists about the origin of the name of Moses then surely, he can do a lot more than pitting "stronger" Christians against Muslims in an attempt to set them up on video . Watch Kalam EL closely, he's searching for a formidable opponent for the brothers he's been scouting at speakers corner and i expect he'll probably bring someone from the states like Polight (whose knowledge of Islam comes from Malachi Z. York) or some other Afrocentric oriented person who claims to have special "information" on and against Islam. Kalam plans but Allah is the best planners.

      Deu 18:18-20
18: I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers. And I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I command him.
19 : And whoever will not listen to my words that he shall speak in my name, I myself will require it of him.
20 : But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in my name that I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.’
      1. The prophet must be among the brothers
      2. He shall speak in Yahweh’s name as this is the Christian’s Bible.
      3. If he speaks in the name of other gods, the same prophet will die.
Gal 1:9 "If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned."

According to Islamic scholars, the person who died after a prayer of curse (S3:61) within 1 year got the curse. Muhammad and all his family (Fatima , Ali, Hasan and Husayn ) who invoke that curse got the curse and all died shortly after. Muhammad died within 66 days on May 26 623CE. He was trying to prove his prophethood to the Najran Christians. But the end result?

Why do Christians insist it's Jesus when they claim he is God. God sends messengers who are SLAVES of God, how can Jesus be the prophet because he is God to Christians which means he can't be a SLAVE and a GOD at the same time. It's truly embarrassing. How can Jesus be God and a prophet at the same time. A messenger is sent BY God. Truly a contradiction. Poor from the Christian again.......

You need to research more before coming to speak. Christians never claim Jesus was a prophet that's what Muslim claim. We believe he is the son of God. They are saying that the prophets foreshadow Jesus coming. Do your research before coming here thanks

+Jade Smith then explain to me who is this prophecy of the coming prophet in this particular verse and another one where Jesus says I have many things to say but you can't bear them now when he the spirit of truth shall come he shall glorify me. He shall not speak of himself whatever he hears he shall speak.
If Jesus isn't a prophet according to you and Christians, this coming prophet is who?

by saying this you are refuting with many verses in the bible itself, many of the prophecy's say about the coming prophet and if you think Jesus(P.B.U.H) was the son of God and God Himself then he cannot be called prophet so who is the prophet that has been prophecies-ed about.

Hi Christian brother & Sister, wanted to ask you something Who's Paul? the Apostle i belive, the definition of Apostle is "The on who is sent out" so that is mean 12 Apostle of Jesus is a messenger/prophet/ambassador. Anyway, Jesus in the Bible is also identified as a prophet, so a Prophet sent a Prophet?

I hate it when people dont listen and ponder over the verse or evidence so they can learn something heres a classic example around 26 mins the muslim guy in glasses starts reading and given his point around through that the christian guy on the left was ignoring him and trying to find what he wants to say next and when the muslim finishes the christian guys has missed the important point and tries to bring other stuff up etc and by the 30 mins mark the muslim guys goes you completly missed the point and am sat here thinking you missed it because you bloody wasnt listening you christain!!!! this happens every timei watch these videos the muslims always stand there absorb the information allow it to marinate, ponder over it and then give there thoughts thats how you LEARN just like you do in school
