This is my review for the Rii Mini X1 Wireless Keyboard with Touchpad. This mini keyboard is perfectly suited for media PC setups, Raspberry Pi, or in my video here, for sim racers where it can be very difficult to have an accessible keyboard and mouse. Thak you for the review. I have a question: How can you pair the keyboard with a Smart TV? Thank you in advance.
I picked this mini keyboard up to use for my HDMI PC Stick for when I travel, so I have a full media center that fits in a pocket.
I do like the keyboard feel. But I specifically chose this for the BACK LIGHT! Apparently I was sent the one with no backlight. Even though I thought I did. This is a trick used by Amazon, because often there are different versions of items. What is advertised is not always what you get. Be careful when you order.
Does the keyboard have Bluetooth, or is the dongle required? Also, can it be plugged in and used wired?
That's great. Just ordered one for the P1. My keyboard is too big and cumbersome so i hope this will do the trick. I have a logitech trackball mounted on my P1 so not fused with the mouse pad, its the keyboard that matters to me. Thanks for the heads up, and as usual, BIG thumbs up.
Afterward, I stuck on a couple of magnets to the back and it sticks to the side of my PC case when not in use.
@@SimRacingCorner That's a good idea. My osw motor box is right next to me on a low shelf so maybe I will steal that idea
@@menacegtr I thought it was worth saying as I found having magnets makes a bit more convenient doesn't get lost.
Just wanted to say thanks again for the review on the Rii mini keyboard. Mine just arrived and have tested on my Simlabs P1 setup and it works fantastic. No more lugging a great keyboard around, plus it can be put anywhere around my rig. I have a shelf next to me so its perfect. Can I please ask what you used to glue the magnets to the device? would be great to do the same and mount it to the side on my OSW motor box. What a fantastic idea. The keyboard feels very sturdy and of a good build. You ae starting to cost me money, i like it
Dave.
@@menacegtr Glad to hear Dave. I used Gorilla glue this time. But I've also used superglue, and epoxy resin in the past to stick small neodymium magnets to stuff. And they all do the job just fine.
Thanks for the help
No problem
I found a model that apparently has both Bluetooth and a 2.4Ghz wireless dongle
Supposedly it also has IR, or at least some sort of "laser pointer"
If I can find something with a legitimate IR module, I could try to program it like a universal remote. There used to be models that looked similar with TV remote keys placed on the underside
A cool little device! Keyboards can be a bit big and hard to place, shouldn't be hard to fit this on the rig.😁👍
Oh and growing strong I see, congratz on 2000 subs mate!!!💪😃🎉👍🍻
Thanks bud, 2000 and slowly moving upwards by the day. A lot of effort but I do enjoy the challenge of making these.
@@SimRacingCorner Always fun to see new sim racing gear, and by that get new crazy and expensive ideas!.. .😅👍
Keep up the good work bro!🍻
question, does the trackpad feel kind of unresponsive at times? mine works, but when I try to move slow its not super responsive
Mine seems fine
nice video
Super useful! Does it works on windows 10?
Yes
Yup
Something like that might just be the ticket for my new rig. Would make things a lot easier. Thanks for spending your hard earned money to educate us commoners, haha.
🤣This is one of the cheaper videos I've put my spends into, I went a bit nuts over Black Friday. So I've got some good stuff coming up well into the New Year. I'll soon be the Sim Racing Hobo the way things are going.
Let me know when you're out on the street and I'll send you some money for a warm cardboard box and a cup of tea. :D
@@flightis3dollars Thanks man! I'm good for cardboard boxes at least due to all the buying stuff. But a few coins for a cuppa will help towards getting me through winter!🥶
Is it micro 5 pin port for charging?
It's a standard Micro USB port.
Question: does it also worked wired?
Yes through micro usb
mine dosent have a laser
Mine seems to be missing the laser, the back light and also the bomb sniffing feature. Luckily I'm not the one that tested it.
