Welcome back, have missed you. I also had trouble using a magnifier but my optometrist made a pair of bifocal glasses that have magnification in them and the top half I can still watch TV. I took one of my projects that is on fine linen so she could get the glasses adjusted to suit me. Magnifiers are quite often made for reading but we read at a different distance to our stitching.
Really enjoyed your finish and wip parade. You may not have made many videos in 2023 but you certainly did a lot of stitching! SO many beautiful finishes! They just kept coming! and not small! Your wips were inspirational too. I just started a GigiR sampler 2 days ago, The Fair Lady Sampler, and I will include your hashtag whenever i post it on instagram. (I also have Isabelle Fox and Mary Griffiths started. I guess I love GigiR too 🩷) So nice to see you again. Your hair looks adorable and I hope 2024 is a great year for you! xx

Nice to see you back. So much to show us! Like you, I hate to stitch top down. Have you tried stitching the chart upside down so you can still do bottom up? That’s how I tackle those serial SALs that deliver in pieces.

Nicky, So sad to lose a pet. We also have just got a 7 month old Kelpie x German Shepherd after losing our dog a couple of years ago. Couldn't face getting one sooner. And Memphis is very lively.

I was stitching and almost to the bottom of Pet All the Dogs when I lost my young springer spaniel. I just couldn't finish it. Many months later I decided to put the names of all my dearly departed dogs on the sampler. I made a few rows at the bottom. So happy to have finished it in this manner. You'll stitch the sampler when you are ready. It's a beautiful piece!

I love your idea of stitching “Pet All the Dogs”. I have that pattern and I’m going to join you. While we stitch we can think of all the things they did. Their quirks, way of getting our attention, of getting their way, or their pouting, all the things. Maybe it wouldn’t be so sad then?
I’ve pulled out my pattern. I don’t have Tin Roof but I have so much linen, I must pull from stash. I’ll pull all the floss tomorrow and do a floss toss on my linen. I’m going to a stitch retreat in July and the challenge is stitch on a stitch count you haven’t stitched before. I typically use 36 + 40 however, I have a 38 count and a 46 count so I’m thinking of one of these for PATD’s. TBD 🎉
