"The building was on fire, and it wasn’t my fault." -- Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden, Wizard
The secret to immunity to spells is that it's only immunity to spells that allow spell resistance. Many conjuration spells, like grease, do not have spell resistance and work on spell immune creatures. 17:45
Same with Chains of Light.
the only reason it's telling you not to grab certain spells is because you're bloodline(s) would give you those spells for free. The system doesn't realize you're never going to take sorcerer levels again though.
Your.
You are one of the few channels Im genuinely stoked to see grow. Keep grinding my man!
I shall
3:15 - 10d6+20 is correct.
It's also the reason empower is much more powerful for this build than maximize and crazy strong with both.
the problem with spell specialization for fireball and stuff is that they don't let you ignore the maximum dice for the spell, 10d6 in the case of fire ball. So with spell specialization and mage's tattoo at level 7, you'll have a 10d6 fireball. At level 10, it'll still be a 10d6 fireball.
So at level 10 I should spell specialization another spell that isnt dice capped? Like a wall of fire or a dragon's breath?
@@ArcaneAgent I'd suggest fire snake until level 14/15 and then wall of fire for your build, even though it doesn't benefit from it as much. Either way, the caster level boosts stop mattering near max level as none of the kingmaker spells let you go above 20 dice at level 20 as far as I can tell.
Please come back! We miss you!
Soon. On vacation right now. All shall be revealed in time
I'd still prefer Arcane or Sage Sorcerer for a blaster, but to be honest a high dc conjurer/transmuter/necromancer with all those tasty control and save or die spells would be even better. :)
Why save or die when you can just nuke everyone? Hehe
Seriously though, I know controlling is fun, but I could just control everyone by everyone being dead.
@@ArcaneAgent - Yeah, this is 'the best defense is a good offense' school of thought, firmly backed by real world experience. The goal of any combat is to eliminate the threat, and the quicker you can transition to opponent death, the better your outcome. Incapacitating as an interim step is only viable if; doing so renders all opponents entirely unable to attack AND if doing so is measurabely faster before transitioning to a permanent terminus. It's always good in a build to have a few offset disable options, but treating them as the central focus is a numbers game loss.
Kill them all, kill them quickly
Idk how you feel about two builds in one video BUT two or more characters built around teamwork feats (using different classes like warpriest and Vindictive Bastard) would be amazing
Yes, like 2 rogues using outflank
what a amazing build bro! :D
Its a fun little nuker
4:17 caster level does not affect the DC of a spell. It affects variables like duration and number of dice rolled, but never the DC, which is 10 + SPELL level + Casting Mod + spell foci
Ah so it would help with 9d6 during into 10d6 and rounds of burning
It saddens me I can't find a single build for a pure wizard...
Like level 1-20 full Wizard? I mean I splash 1 level here with sorcerer, but he's 1-20 full caster
@@ArcaneAgent as in level 1-20, I don't milticlass or duel class I prefer to play a class pure. I can find thematic builds for literally every class but wizard. Hell I can find builds in general for every class but wizard. I went looking to see creative ways people use thessalonians wizard and low and behold, I'm the only one who seems to like them. Seeing how there are easy work arounds fo the opposition schools.
Went looking for a evocation mage build... Every single build, play sorcerer.
Conjuror... Every single build play sorcerer, herald caller, or inquisitor.
Necromancer... Every single build, play Sorcerer or herald caller.
I mean it seems no one want to even try bro break the mold and see if they can thematically do things with just the wizard itself.
Let me try something with Wrath of the Righteous with a pure wizard
@@ArcaneAgent cool sadly I don't own wrath of the righteous, I only recently got king maker loving it despite the lack of love the wizard class get. Still don't get the hate for the sin class, extra spell slots that make it rival the sorcerer but also gets spells earlier than other caster classes. Only thing it's missing and this is honestly just a pet peeve of mine when it comes to end based crpg is how the necromancer the school literally dedicated to studying the dead, death, and the undead doesn't get a resurrection spell but druids and shaman by some logic.
I like to take a drawback, usually Emo ->Envy since gold hasn't been an issue. Then take Social -> Clever Wordplay -> diplomacy to make diplomacy use my intelligence rather than charisma. On top of your other Eldritch Arcana traits
I too like the clever wordplay
Hi Liquid, could you post a high defense healer build too? It would help me a lot. Thanks
Healer focused on themselves or on others?
@@ArcaneAgent On others :)
Its an important role, but there is not really a good build around.
@@morwhen4749 Yeah, i agree, a liquid build for a healer would be cool.
Realistically, any divine caster with a dip of monk fits the bill. AC and saves are king in this due to goofy AI, and facetanking doesn't work well in Pathfinder (the DPR Olympics are real!) in normal circumstances, let alone in this where everything has Advanced +2 at least above Story difficulty. Control is pretty much always superior to defense and combat healing is mostly wasted action economy, so you need to adapt your frame of reference when talking about healing in PF based systems and especially this game. So, here are three suggestions...
Monk 1/ Ecclesitheurge of Pharasma X. Crane style, usual stuff, Repose (P) and Healing (S) domains, plus Selective Channeling and a couple Extra Channeling when you can fit it in and Reach Spell. Pretty much turns the midgame into a faceroll, between Death Ward aura, pos channeling, and close range Heal instagibbing. Requires LN so you don't get that endgame monk robe, but AC and saves get so high naturally it doesn't matter anyway. Channel for party healing between fights, BoL and Heal (both reach'ed) are your "oh, crap!" buttons.
You can go the same route with an Erastil Ecclesitheurge, just take Animal primary and Community secondary. Community's domain abilities are boss, you get dat companion with Animal and pick Boon Companion. Direct heals don't get free empower, but you don't really need it.
A more unorthodox trick would be to go Monk/Ecclesitheurge of Asmodeus, Fire primary domain, Trickery secondary. LN Asmodeus even allows you to channel positive. Dead enemies don't do damage you have to heal and Harm is pound-for-pound the best single-target nuke in the game, yes better than Disintegrate and even Finger of Death which are both save-or-sucks. You don't say no to 75 guaranteed negative energy damage even on a successful save.
Now, even less orthodox stuff...
Monk/Water kineticist with healing infusions. Yes, healing infusions inflict burn which limits longevity, but the tradeoff is fantastic burst healing which actually makes it combat-viable. Kinetic Healer is basically LoH, and Healing Burst is channel positive, and you can take those options without compromising control or offense options in the mid-game since you'll be wanting to go the Bowling Infusion/Greater Trip route with AE anyway.
Don't sweat the MAD too much, but an interesting implication of this build is you can go LG to splash Paladin instead of Monk which nets you heavy armor, CHA to saves, and courage aura if you want to sacrifice an additional die of blast damage in the endgame, which isn't a huge sacrifice for what you gain. I don't know if Smite Evil interacts with Kinetic Blast/Blade, but I don't see why it wouldn't at least for the latter.
Either way, with kineticist you'll want to pair that up with a Bard or Inquisitor for spot healing and lesser resto. Big loss that, let me tell you (/s). But, the king of these shenanigans...
Monk 1/Empyreal Sorcerer X. You get channel pos as an arcane caster at Sorc 9, on a single-attribute-dependent package. Yeah, you take an ECL hit on channel pos, and channel pos is still pegged to CHA, but the trade-off's worth it. You still get the arcane toolkit for damage, buffing, and control. The downside is you still need at least an Inquisitor in the party for spot healing, restoration, and key divine-exclusive buffs, and you'll need a cleric in the party until Empyreal unlocks channel, but once the build comes online you're good.
Really want to see you do an Oracle build from the Eldritch Arcana Mod! I have no idea how to build these people's, hah!
I will have to
@Zach cash it doesn't help either that the mods links to the table top curse mechanics even though there were changes to the curses to adapt their implementation in the game

I did like the Breton spell absorb
@@ArcaneAgent I ran into some problem trying this build as a fresh start, I would like some clarification if that's possible, -*SPOILER to anyone else- you know how in act 2, you have to deal with some certainly quite annoying giant enemy, whom used to only be able to be killed by either FIRE or ACID, right? well... Firebranded version of them nasty critter came in the mix, and this Pyromaniac here only specialized in fire, does Spell penetration actually bypass Fire Immunity?
Spell pen does not. However you still have acid splash cantrips. I just made it past those fire immune baddies live on www.twitch.tv/thearcaneagent
@@ArcaneAgent oh thanks, I just want to play it on unfair soloing as a Wizard, you know how much of a safety hazard it can be for your teammate sometime with AoE explosion. I did a small test with the Black Dragon Sorcerer acid built(which fully utilized your Dex bonus and feats like PB and Precise Shot.), but I guess blowing stuff up is a man romance.
edited: also bloodline power, I think there's an update on the mod that allow you to use bloodrage which give you another +1 per dice roll, instead of the close to useless claws which can get you killed.
Yeah there was an update to the mod
You should take Empower Spell at Level 5 instead of Intensified Spell. You can Empower a Fireball with no level increase when you get it at 6th. And Intensified Spell does you no good whatsoever until your wizard level is 11 or higher, since it only raises the MAXIMUM damage dice a spell can do, not what it does at any particular level. So an intensified fireball at level 7 does 7d6 just like an unmodified fireball. With spell specialization and mage's tattoo, that becomes an issue at character level 9, where an unmodified fireball will be limited to 10 dice, but an intensified fireball would do 11d6.

It does not really matter (since you make lvl 20 builds) when you take the first Arcane trickster build, just make sure to get to lvl 10 in arcane trickster (and chose to progress wizard).
You may even want to drop the wizard - as progressing arcane trickster to 10 does reduce the damage bonus you get from wizard - so perhaps the +1 caster level and the ability to not having to prepare your spells are worth the 4-9 points of damage being and evocation wizard could have offered. :D
The build I am playing right now (in my beneath the stolen lands walk-through) is a Rogue 1, Sorcerer X (cross bloodied - orc + dragon), arcane trickster 10 - it is a little less damage than the wizard multiclass - but I get the ability to pick and chose from more different spells by not having to prepare them ahead of time, and by not loosing out on two schools :D

Seeing as both Empowered and Intensified Fireball are castable from lvl 3 slots, which one of them actually deals higher damage ?
Super late response, but if anyone else wants to know, here's the answer:
TL;DR version: Empowered always adds more damage.
Long version: Intensified only adds 5 levels to the MAXIMUM damage dice a spell can have. Because this build end up taking enough feats to add 3 caster levels to Fireball, but has 1 level of Sorc, when we get Fireball at character level 6, we can cast it at caster level 8. Fireball normally maxes out it's damage dice at caster level 10, meaning between character levels 6 and 8 Intensified does absolutely nothing while Empowered multiplies the damage by 1.5.
Once we get to character level 9, intensified will start adding 1 damage dice per level, to a max of 15d6 at character level 13. Each of these die adds 1d6 + 3 (due to Sorc bonuses), or 7.5 average damage per level. At character level 13 when Intensified gives the maximum bonus damage it can give, a purely intensified Fire ball does an average of 103.5 damage (15d6 + 15*3 damage from Sorc bloodline bonuses + 6 from wizard bonus. 1d6 does an average of 3.5). An empowered Fireball at character level 13 does an average of 106.5 damage ((10d6 + 10*3 + 6)*1.5). As you level higher, the bonus damage from Empowered will continue to grow as the bonus wizard damage grows, while the extra damage from Intensified caps out at character level 13. Thus, Empowered always does more damage.
HOWEVER, both Empowered and Intensified can be stacked for a total average damage of 155.25 at character level 13 for a 4th level spell slot. Well worth using this IMO.
Hey, I tried to make this build, but found a step that was different, in the Bloodline powers selection, it had 4 options instead of two.
Blood havoc mutation (orc)
Blood havoc mutation (red dragon)
Grow claws
Touch of rage.
If I don't take the blood havoc do I not get the +1dmg/die roll? Or is this another +1 in addition to the other +1s?
Well... I took a draw back to get the Outlander:Loreseeker trait (choose 3 spells and cast them at +1 CL & +1 DC)
So at first level I'm casting burning hands at 5d4+15dmg...which also means that my blood havoc is working, giving me a total of +3dmg/die rolled.
And now my human character is for some reason cursed with light sensitivity. :(
Its from the orc bloodline

Never mind deleted eldritch arcana and redownloaded eldritch arcana updated, works great now.
Yeah have you tried turning it off and on again hehe
I downloaded the mod, but Crossblooded doesn't show up still. Anyone know a way to fix that?
Did you get the eldritch arcana updated mod?
@@ArcaneAgent Same issue here, i'm using the eldritch arcana updated mod
The mods are amazing, however kingmaker has to stop updating every week for me to go back to mods
@@ArcaneAgent Managed to fix it, but everytime I choose spell specialization the game completely flips out, nothing shows up and eventually you just can't continue with character creation. Honestly the sheer amount of bugs and glitches in this game is depressing.
@@ArcaneAgent By the way thx for all these guides you have done, it's so nice to get back to the game with such foods
How to dismiss spells with EA: Have a spell up to dismiss (Grease, pit spells, whatever), Click "Abilities" (center tab), find the blue icon (looks like stunning barrier or banishment icon, I think), click on the icon, click on the spell area.
+1 skill rank or +1 hit point?
Depends on how many times you wanna skill things or kill things
@@ArcaneAgent i want to kill, but do a sorcerer solo
Then depends on if you want 1 more skill maxed or 20 hit points
@@ArcaneAgent
I really don't know, what would you recommend for a solo sorcerer?
More skills
Dragon Type can be Red, Brass, or Gold.
Gold wasn't mentioned but it also works for *fire*

Also Jesus Christ, CZcams, quit throwing adds every fucking two minutes.
That's my fault. I schedule them for every 3 minutes. Helps me pay the mortgage.
WTF, why do you have that amount of feats? Thats cheating, ilegal
Human. Mod eldritctch arcana. It affords me 1 more feat
@@ArcaneAgent Its still kinda cheaty
Yes
Nah, don't worry about the ads in your video, I don't see any of them as I have AdBlock installed. Also means you don't get a penny from me watching your vids, I'm sure you don't mind. Also desperately begging for comments is kinda desperate.
What?! 0.0 15:31
What do you mean "what" at 15:31? Picking illusion spells?
@@ArcaneAgent No XD the knuckle crack! Lol. Like a pause while I wait for what liquid will say then what I get to my surprise is the noise of the crack. Wonderful. Love your vids ❤
So what's with the bible quotes?
I'm a Christian, I'm a youth pastor, and I play video games.
@@ArcaneAgent I dislike this build. Although it has good control especially vs lower levels and/or low wisdom and the damage is high.
"Mod" yeah, stop right there
I have a full playlist of builds that don't require mods
Ok, I gonna start to downvote every video where used mods aren't mentioned in the title. This is ridiculous.
I have a no mod playlist
@@ArcaneAgent Ok, that's better than nothing. I have to confess that I was very annoyed yesterday by a couple of videos, back to back, that were with mods, and I just exploded.
I used to make videos with no mods, for an entire year I fought the modding community. But then they kept asking for modded builds, soon even Owlcats were using modded builds in their twitch streams.
They even started to use the Turn Based mod. Then they incorporated it into their next game.
Currently their next game is geared for easy mod adaptability
@@ArcaneAgent I'm not against mods, if anything I'm for them. Kingmaker is a special case since there doesn't seem to be a source for mods besides Nexus, and one day I decided that I just don't want to make ever new accounts when I want to mod a game, so I just don't use Nexus anymore. I have problems managing the account credentials of important services, I don't want to have to manage extremely unnecessary ones like Nexus (I see no reason for the downloads being gated behind an account).
But the issue is that the mod use isn't mentioned in the title. If I know that videos from the algorithm are just unusable for me, besides background noise, and I can look up the playlist for modless videos if I want more than background noise... Well, that's something :-)
Mod? Meh.
The majority of the community embraces the mods. As long as they are PnP friendly. As well Owlcat actually placed their own respec mod in the game after one of the mods gave people great playability. Don't knock the mods!
