Our FIRST TIME in Grand Turk! (What to do in port)

- It’s the last port of our amazing 10 day cruise on Holland America Line’s Rotterdam and we are in Grand Turk for the first time! This is a unique port in that all cruise lines can dock here, but it has a private port feel to it. You can literally get off the ship and boom… the beach is right there!! I have never been to a port where you can swim so close to the ships before!! It’s beautiful!!

My wife loved watching your videos. She was a travel consultant and we cruised a lot! Before we would go anywhere she would research and she always searched to see if y'all had a video for the ship or any of the ports. She passed away in May 2023 after a 5 year battle with cancer. This May our boys and I will take a memorial trip on the Mardi Gras to Grand Turk. Watching this video was bittersweet because it brought back so many memories of us sitting together and seeing where y'all went next. Thank you for making these videos.

It was nice having the shops that close to the beach to go back to the ship after the beach to change clothes and go back out shopping…
last time i was there, we rented a golf cart and went all over the island. It was so much fun and went to the light house and beautiful beaches.

With all the cruising you guys have done I was so surprised to learn that this was your first time in Grand Turk! It truly is a great stop with the beach and pool right there. We've done the open air bus ride so we could see what the island was like and we always head down the beach to Jack's Shack!

Grand Turk was our favorite port on our last cruise! The Starbucks does not sell the Pink Drink, so my 12 uear old was disappointed, lol. But there's WiFi inside.
When me and my wife were at GRand Turk we rented a golf cart and drove around the island all day it was fun and unique experience
we rented mopeds and did the same. Found a hot chicken place there…. “The Poop Deck”
Swimming out and over that drop off scared the crap out of me, but it really was some great snorkeling!

We’ve been to Grand Turk a few times. We now wait until after lunch, go to the beach on the left and by then there’s a few loungers available. Snorkelling is great. If I remember correctly there’s a couple of point of interest out further (canon or anchor or something ?). It’s usually windy but it was REALLY windy when you were there. :-). Did Segways one year and it was a blast!!! All the best :-)

Been here a few times. Very windy port and sometimes ships can’t port and they turn away. Margaritaville is typical, jacks shack is overrated, pot smokers on the beach the beaches whale bar is small and typical. I usually walk to the right of pier past the broken fence and up around the corner, there you can find conch shells that you can take home. They have to be white…. No green or color.

I can't believe you've never been to Grand Turk, same with Aruba and Curacao. The beach on the right is free too and there's more of a rocky area and has good snorkeling but water shoes are recommended. My daughter stepped on a Sea Urchin.

Grand Turk kind of reminds me of Amber Cove with a beach. Do they still have people trying to charge you to use the free beach loungers? I like both places, you can have a nice relaxing day on a budget if you choose to.
No one asked us for payment for the loungers, we just grabbed a couple.

No they absolutely do not! That’s against the law.

Is the beach and pool there free or do you have to have like a day pass? How much are the beach chair rentals?
It was all free when we were there.

If you are flying there then yes, but not on a cruise.
That's too bad that there is nothing to do in Grand Turk. Oh well, saves me from having to visit there. One less place on my list.
