As a kid this was one of my favorite Saturday morning cartoons.
That's because it was AWESOME!!!
Ar metoo
Man, I had the wallpaper, the curtains, the bed covers I was obsessed as a little boy
@@falkirk8413 I got the animated movie for this on DVD. IT'S AWESOME
The second SF cartoon I ever saw after 'Battle of the Planets' and before 'StarBlazers.' Nostalgia Blast. Love it. Thankyou.
You have good taste in cartoons.
Ditto.
Saturday morning cartoons brought back to life.
I'm sorry, but in both the 1980 movie and this cartoon I would have chosen Princess Aura over Dale, without a doubt.
you're just a man, with a man's courage
@@zimriel I´ll save every one of you.
Once she comes to her senses, she hooks up with Prince Baron, so you're still out of luck.
Before that she was pretty horrible.
Well I really can't disagree with that their.
While I do accept your apology, I have to wonder if you realize these are not real people. They're cartoons.
This Reminds Me Rated G' Episode of Den of Earth in the 1981 Movie "Heavy Metal".
Me waiting for the "FLASH! AHHHHH~! HE'S A MIRACLE!"
Keep waiting.
Wow, time tunnel to the past when I was a kid
I always thought the artwork & coloring were outstanding. Otherwise I probably wouldn't have watched it. It just glittered!
I dont like 3D anime That they propose today.
Hand Drawing télécharger s more Better more realistic.
Cartoons from 1970's and 1980's to 1990's were thé Best.
Walt Disney always used hand for drawing.
Sée the perfection for Snow white & Cindirella or Sleeping Beauty.
And Fantasia was her Best achievment for an anime
@@boukhalsoumia374 your exactly right, using computer animation not only is cheating but you DO lose realism and depth, especially in backgrounds! Look at the background art in Snow White and you will see what I mean. Hanna Barbera (Filmation's chief rival) started the computer animation with an episode of Pacman. I just hate computer animation, now animation artist tend to make the people look like stick figures.
@@philipdefibaugh5683 Now if You had noticed Before Disney use computer for drawing persons and animals because its more cheaper than hand-drawing ( No using of a multiple papers for drawing). THEY save MONEY
Before Walt Disney used hand for drawings : Cindirella ; Snow white ; Fantasia ; Sleeping Beauty)
I prefer old Disney animes :
THEY were more Real ( See the movement of characters when They speak see their face emotions like They are More humans !!
- I hate modern drawing in animes using 3D.. For example Lady Bug or Lassie the dog...
As a new viewer this was actually very entertaining.
Welcome to our channel! Enjoy!
Alan Oppenheimer pre-Skeletor, Melendy Britt pre-She-ra, and Bob Ridgely post-Tarzan. I loved Filmation's cartoons and live-action kids' shows.
I wish this show hadn't cut out the original opening scenes with Flash Gordon and Dale Arden meeting on that airplane over Europe during World War II in the 1940s.
I agree with you, do you know where I can find that missing scene please
@@jonathanjones8931 It's only in the Flash Gordon animated movie which is on CZcams.
Probably cut it because of the violence, WWII and the fact that a character dies. Couldn’t have an animated character die back then.
You can't have Dr. Zarkov kidnapping Flash and Dale, because on kids tv, that is what the bad guys do.
@@CosmoShidan Really? But you can show kids X-Wing fighter pilots exploding into flames in their cockpits? 😂🤪
Like the animated Star Trek this was made for grown ups too. Nice, gonna try and watch them all. Wikipedia was correct saying this was one of Filmation's top quality offerings along with Star Trek of course. This episode was even written by a Trek writer (I think Samuel Peeples was one).
I didn't know there was an animated Star Trek series ... till now.
Incredible how those animated were made in those early yrs. So well done. The score music, the tales. It's like real professional of good cinema. And that is all! Not like that dumb ideologies today.
Wow...Favorite cartoon movies as a child are very entertaining
Watched this as a kid, it’s better than I remember.
The only reason why i know flash gordon is through queen
Loved this, great soundtrack
My desire caroons from 80' I'm realy happy to see them again. From Portugal.
Thank you very much!! old times!!
You're welcome! Enjoy, and please check out the other series on this channel and our Popeye & Friends Official Channel @ czcams.com/channels/qvXAiNyn8pd9SVPclWfJTg.html
This looks way much better than the movie (and it came before!)
Actually the movie was produced before, but broadcasted later (s. wikipedia).
that strong woman Dayle; "i don't like being referred to as 'today's catch'"
I actually liked both the 1980 film and this animated series that followed later! 🙂
I love these background musics.
Watched these all the time as a kid on vhs, good times.
I watched a lot of the VHS flash Gordon series, it stopped when flash Gordon got frozen... F**k*ng Ace you put them all on here so I can see them all!! 👍 nice 1
Like Buster Crabbe, Robert Ridgley played both Tarzan and Flash Gordon.
And Thundarr The Barbarian
What about Buck Rodgers? I don't know if that was a cartoon, too, but I do know there was a live action version. It starred Steve Austin and Willa Ford I think? The actress who also starred on Mannix.
Thank you!
You're welcome!
This beginning is a whole lot more different than the feature film I found on CZcams, "Flash Gordon: The Greatest Adventure Of All" when he was battling Ming The Merciless who sent weapons from Mongo to Earth for Hitler. Search that movie, you'll see what I mean.
Yeah, once NBC saw the finished product, they decided to greenlight it as a series and changed the setting from 1939 to the present day.
They eventually aired the original movie in 1982.
@@FaytLinegod It originally aired on a Saturday Night which was very rare at the time. But in this case that movie got excellent ratings and was used as the first five episodes of The Adventures of Flash Gordon.
It's no longer available on YT, but is on Internet Archive. Great watch
This episode is downright incredulous in its quality. It's series like these that make me such a buff for Filmation. I'm watching the whole entire series the first chance I get. No joke. B-)
The ships animation was smoothe Thats one thing i remembered first time watching this cartoon If it was hand drawn , well done It looked computer generated
Nice wish it wasn't missing the intro though.
Amazing cartoon present day kids miss these :( person who dubbed for skeletor dubbed for this ming I'm sure!!!!
Yes, Alan Oppenheimer. He would re-use his Ming voice for Skeletor, only more menacingly. Frank Welker did the same when he used his Dr. Claw voice for Darkseid in Superfriends & Soundwave, albeit, electronically modified in The Transformers animated series.
@@libertubey2199 wow great to know!!
Nothing like Flimation toons from the '70s and '80s.
If I remember correctly NBC used the popularity of Star Wars & Stek Trek the movie to bolster their Saturday morning line up with The Adventures of Flash Gordon, Space Sentinels & brought back Star Trek : The Animated Series. I thought it was a very smart move by NBC. I also wondered why they did not push for more space shows and cartoons.
IIRC, at that time, they also re-ran "The Jetsons"
@@floydjohnson7888 I believe you are right & The Jetsons was the last Saturday am toon of the day for NBC.
This was the quality of western animation in 1979. And now we got crap like Peppa pig.
The 1990s X-Men and the recent X-Men '97 shows the difference more starkly.
I remember my Grandpa Marden saying "Flash Gordon"!! After the opening credits!
We had this show translated to Danish on VHS. I was captivated by the world as a kid, as it seemed much more fleshed out and adult, than say the He-Man show of the same era. Camp not withstanding.
The Adventures of Flash Gordon - All Episodes (TV Movie)
Episode #1, and #16
(Chapter One, and Sixteen)
(A Planet in Peril / Ming's Last Battle)
La banda sonora me encanta...
I imagine Ming is what Keldor would have sounded like, if Filmation had ever been able to show Skeletor's origin story.
Doom from beggining was a good buddy fellas 😮
Is it possible to download all episodes?
go back for a moment to the past
Stylistically, this 1979-80 animated series is similar to the animated Star Trek (1973-75) before it, and Blackstar (1981-82), He-Man And The Masters of the Universe (1983-85) & She-Ra: Princess of Power (1985-87) after it. These were all Filmation fantasy at their best.
Ahem! And BraveStarr (1987-89) too as well you know!!
Filmation's Version of Flash Gordon has that Jonny Quest vibe to it!
15:01 oh my goodness!
WORLD COMING TO END❗️
So, I see there was a Filmation movie from 1979 called 'Flash Gordon the Greatest Adventure for All' and then there is this cartoon. It seems like the movie is not tied to the cartoon because some of the plot events are different in both, from what I've seen so far. Can anyone help me understand, please?
It's explained on Wikipedia.
OHH LOOK AT THOSE TWO PLANETS !! VELIKOVSKY WOULD HAVE BEEN PLEASED! 😎😏 ATLEAST SOME SORT OF A DEPICTION OF IT EXISTS! 😏😎😎👌👍
I'm wondering why the opening themes are removed. That's the best music to get into the mood
This was when Filmation really got good.
Great opening. First time watching this.
When you are done with Flash Gordon, please check out the other series on our channel.
Enjoy it.

Lol this show goes a 100 mph.
Flash Gordon used a rocket from spaceX
Elon Musk stole the blueprints from Dr. Zarkov.
Blackstar used a lot of this soundtrack as well, am I wrong?
Me gustaría que los episodios fueran en español

Pretty cool looking robots 🤖there.
Hey i new sub stay conect👍
Commics strip controlled by dadu in 80 era very advanced relative to time
WHERE ARE THE EPISODES 3 AND ?
Look at those muscles and outfits.
I am not surprised I was a Flash Gordon fan as a child
and am a gay man today!
WHERE´S THE EPISODE 4?
I prefer Vic Perrin (from the pilot movie) over Alan Oppenheimer as Ming the Merciless.
I got to say I'm getting sort of a Filmation type vibe here going on.
This *was* made by Filmation
@David Hoover
Wait, really? Why didn't I see it before? (Let alone try and find the filmation logo in the show?)
Film zaman dulu sekarang ssya dah 48 th
Ming sounds Skeletor
It is published in anandmela magazine in teenage in bankura for my br who have cinematic drawing hands by king Philip but book is extremely costly 200 rupee today price so no one can buy only my br with my help by terrorizing my father but this secrecy create problem for him today but it is superb even today standard

Espanol
Is this based on the movie
i think so. It came out about the same time.
No
Imagine for a moment South Park with a cameo of this animation and these characters in one of its chapters
This cartoon deserves to be remake on Netflix.
We agree!
This series was ah perfect definitely view was better animated than that horrible heavy metal, spine of the night, etc.....anime is always better than America's!!!🎸🎸🎸
Today’s animation SUCKS
Today animation were made for Kids or for superhero fans, there's no place for sci-fi
